Mobile phones: What do you have? What do you waaaant?

The X1 won't be released till at the earliest September, from what I've read.
I tried to hold out for one, but my old phone died (Atom Exec).
Now in posession of an HTC TyTN II.

windows mobile 6 = <3

I have a Blackberry Pearl 8100, work supplied, sycned with my Outlook.

Even if my work didn't have a Blackberry server the internet syncing of your email, tasks, appointments, contacts and various other usefulness is cool.

Battery life is pretty damn good. The little track ball that you use to navigate is intuitive.

Cons are that it isn't 3G which does piss me off a little, but the internet apps still seem to work well (Facebook, Gmail, Instant Messaging etc).

I'd prefer a better model when they are released. Takes a little while to get used to the QWERTY keypad rather than ABC (took me a few days of messing with it) but once learnt it is faster than the ABC style keypad.

The SMS/email software is brilliant. Learns all the names of the people in your address book, learns any new words you may use as well as any new words you may receive from people. The predictive text is superior.

I'd steer clear of the Pearl though, the Curve is the one you want. Full QWERTY keypad and faster processor.

Be warned, these things are fucking addictive. There is a reason why they were dubbed Crackberrys.

I have a Sony ericsson w810i, its pretty good, epic battery life, good music app.

If i could have anything? Probably a blackberry (do any come with gps?) or a nokia N95 8 gig. Girlfriend has one, the gps has helped is so much wen were in a daze :P

I'm quite happy to pass on Crackberry email availability. If I ever need to I can check all my POP's through my phone or my work email via Outlook Web Access Mobile. 3G web browsing though is a godsend... I have to read something while I eat, and 3G has removed the need for me to carry newspapers around at lunchtime. Opera Mini FTW!

Currently have a SE w880i which I love. Can't see it being upgraded for a while, does everything I want (ie it works as a phone) and it's tiny.

Maybe I'd consider upgrading to an iphone if they bring out a 3g model that gets cracked.

That is more than fair enough to be honest. I wouldn't have a Crackberry if it wasn't for work but now that I've been exposed to one, I'd have difficulty going back to the way things were. It's just integrates so damn well with Outlook.

I might do a little bit more research on crackberrys. If i can get one through three i will.

The new BlackBerrys (8310 curve and 8110 pearl) both have GPS funcion. However its not free. On Vodafone the subscrition goes:- 1 day $2.50, 1 month $8, 1 year $79. So basically you try it out for a day/month, if you really happy with and and want to use t a fair bit you take the 1 year option.

The new pearls are teh hotness, if i needed push email id get one for sure.

I have a Nokia 5170i. It makes calls and does the whole messaging thing and that's as much I thought i needed in a phone.

Now that i have a phone with a compass, sound meter, torch AND reveals the temperature in my pocket on demand, I don't think I could live without these features in a phone now. It also comes with the plus of being pretty much unbreakable*.

I have every now and again considered upgrading but i know i would destroy a new phone and i like the fact that my phone is not coveted by others and thus i can leave it laying about with little concern. New phones that i've p[layed with often seem ridiculously slow. I do have an N70 laying about here but it's locked to 3 and the bb5 unlocker isn't working on it (any advice would be greatly appreciated) so if i can get that going i might switch.

*The unbreakable premis was shattered when a sydney bluelighter was demonstrating to other bluelighters how unbreakable this phone is by throwing it at the ground with obviously hilarious consequences.

I'm getting a new Sony Ericsson K770i, delivered to me on Tuesday, woo. Its that purple one.

Nokia 6500 classic. it's crap, gets scratched too easy, and i dont know how to get the internet. takes nice photos.

Okay, so my N73 is completely fucked. I can get a new phone through insurance for $0 (oh snap) and here are the ones i can choose from:

Nokia:

6500
N76
N81
E65

Motorola:

K1
K3
V9
Z6

Samsung:

I560
I450
U100
G600 (this one looks good, i think)
B900i

Sony Ericsson:

W910i
W890i
K850i
K770i

Can anyone help? I have no freaking idea - i was totally bummed about my N73 as i thought it would be a great phone...

I want something that i can use to take photos, and the Samsung one has a 5mp camera.

Help!

:(

At a quick search it looks like the SE K850i also has a 5MP camera...

Personally I like Sony's over all those other brands...

This is what I bought about a month ago

SE K800i about $200 bucks prepaid Vodafone...

Its got a 3.2 MP Camera and I couldn't be happier with it. Best phone I've had...

Maybe you could work on how expensive each phone is Samadhi, and get the most expensive?

Get the Samsung.
They are seriously the best phones I have ever used, will never go back to nokia or sony again.

Me? I'm using this little wonder:

The Samsung SGH Z230, cost me $99 from DSE, prepaid on optus. Was the cheapest 3G phone on the market at the time, dunno if it still is or not, my gf was really suprised on how much it could do compared to her A711.
Wicked screen too, especially when compared to other phones of that price, it's just a smaller screen of the A711 ($700), same res though.

mine is silver and black

Currently got the Nokia N73 but when my contract is up next month I'm getting the N95 8GB. The features I was looking for in my next phone are GPS and a 5MP camera and it has both. A little bulky but it's pretty kick arse:

I just have the normal POS phone that came with the plan. My bf bought both of us iPhones for my birthday but he has yet to get a plan for them and get them activated. He is out of the country again right now so god knows when that will be. *shrug* I don't really care, I don't use my phone that much.
