ouch 6 hour drive from indy :(

This is the only thing keeping me from going. It's too bad...lots of really cool memories from cave. I'll miss it.

Obviously there was a good bit of recklessness last year for UGS4, but I don't see why they had to move the venue. They're essentially killing most/all traffic from Indiana/Ohio that had usually gone to cave. Southern Illinois was just so perfect. :(

Seriously, give it a chance! Also do you know how difficult it is working with the owner of the cave sometimes? We have an artistic vision and it could never reach its full potential there. That is why Zoe is so perfect. Please take this journey with us!

Sorry, but by the looks of that scary guy on the flyer it really doesn't make me want to go. My significant other and I have been going to the cave parties for the past 5 years. You’d think the flyer would be a little more inventive or artistic to make people want to check out your "vision" of an event. No?

I'll withhold judgment until I see a lineup, but it's probably going to need to be the fucking return of Orbital for me to head out to Zoe.

Cave was awesome and moving the venue is a mistake in my eyes. A lot of people hold that venue as sacred ground (including myself).

the scary guy on the flyer is someone you know.

and, i have never went to a UGS, so i can't really comment on how cool the cave was, but i will say that i fully understand the move after last year's terrible press.

Yeah the picture on the pre-flyer is a little disturbing, I've seen it before.

Considering the past 2 (or 5 depending on how you look at it) cave parties have been absolute drug fests, it might keep some away! That might be a good thing! Less crazy people who cant handle their shit the better. It is a long drive from indy but hopefully the lineup is more than worth it.

I know a lot of people hold the cave venue as sacred ground, we have all had our good times and great experiences there. But that doesnt take away the fact that there is little to no security (half the security gaurds or venue staff were fucked up themselves), and no way to control the massive flow of drugs into the venue. Last few years its been a little crazy, but not nearly as bad as when we first started going. The word got out to everyone that you can bring whatever and do whatever with no fears or worries. Hell you even had Caveman bob's wife calling dibs on the bucket of drugs that was confisicated at the front door.

There is a reason why Murphysboro passed laws limiting the time and noise from the venue among other things, and its not because everything was peachy keen.

Another incredible venue loss. damn. Lots of memories!!. . . This shouldn't even be UGS anymore. Whole new everything. The freakshow was fine the way it was. No rules/worry weekend once a yr worked out fine for me, other than the kid that walked over my tent and bout got a beat down until I realized he was to fucked up to defend himself. I just got security and they took em out. All the other fucked up people were entertainment for me. VJ Benji always does a hell of job out there too. That's a sight I'll never forget nor see ever again... Horseshit!

:( seriously disappointed about the venue change...pretty much went for the venue...not sure if we will make it out...hopefully the line-up will make it worth it!

Last year was my first cave, and holly shit!! It blew me away, 10 times more than what i expected. I'm a tidge mit sad it's not going to be at the cave, but i think the lineup is going to be over the top to make up for it. This is going to be the fight for it from start to finish. If it's a boom digity lineup i'll go for sure, and maybe even catch a ride w/ some st.louis kids halfway. The cave woow'd me to much last year. I can't just blow it off because it's at a different venue and the flier looks a little "WEIRD" UGS 5 is going to have my full support. Gooo Team!!!

I know there are lots of expenses that go into everyone coming out for a weekend, from time off work to fuel and food and everything in between. I realize that tickets are really only a fraction of the expense. Our goal is to bring you an event experience that is not just worth the ticket prices but worth every penny you have to put into the weekend. People come from across the country because there is no other place to get this scale of a production in an EDM camp event and we want to keep giving more. Our choice was to scale back and give you a production level closer CaveStock or CaveFest or to go full force and top last year. We considered doing both, but would move UGS name rather than have it attached to a watered down event. Since we have a national audience with a sprinkling of international travelers, we feel obliged to use all of the resources available to us to make this an event worth the trip no matter where you live. This is an increased drive for most of our attendees, myself included. Please take a look around at campzoe.com to explore the venue. I have loved the cave as much as anyone and perhaps sacrificed more than anyone for it. So believe me I understand how some of you feel about a change.
I am happy to discuss the decision in more detail on an individual basis off of the board. So feel free to drop me a line on myspace or elsewhere if you like.

thank god caves finally stopped having full weekend raves. Im a tripper though instead of a roller so maybe thats why my opinion is the way it is haha ;p yeah last years UGS was rediculous, people were working wayyyy too hard and being too stupid about it. going one day is worth the party i guess but it would have been more convenient being in murphysboro. Maybe the caves will have some more badass jam bands this year. looking forward to swhwag stock though over in them regions ;p

here's my two cents on this...

i had a great time at the cave/USG4 last year MINUS someone breaking into my car and stealing ALL MY CLOTHING. and no one i turned to could do a damn thing about it, and the old hillbilly owner of the salt peter cave threatened me and my friends when we set up a tent next to our car when that wasn't allowed... well, how were we supposed to know?? the event overall was poorly organized, no information was given out, and there was no FIRST AID. and some one died. the first aid booth had a sign that said to "call 911" well too bad there was no cell phone service. oh yeah, and that old guy tried to charge us to camp next to some trees... basically, i did not feel safe at this venue and am glad this is moving...

to camp zoe. zoe is great, i've been there for a swagstock. it is really beautiful and there is a fun cave to climb into. BUT do be careful driving there, especially in the town of salem, make sure you go the speed limit, this venue usually pays the cops off to keep them out but they do like to patrol the roads hardcore, so don't look suspicious.. hopefully it will be safer here than at the last place which i'm sorry, that cave is not sacred...

all that being said, i'm probably not even going this year although I see bassnectar is probably going to be playing??

i still would like to track down who stole all my damn clothes, so if anyone knows anything, please let a sister know.
