mlb 2010

If Votto doesn't make the All Star team I will never watch the game again.

And I love seeing the Cardinals implode. Two ninth-inning choke jobs against Colorado...and the Reds take 2 outta 3 from the Mets at Citi Field. I LOVE IT!

Just thought I'd bump the thread since we are in the final 1 1/2 months of the season. And the Reds are back in 1st again. man just on thursday it looked bleak for 'Nati. Getting swept by StL plus Cueto getting screwed with the suspension and Brandon Phillips speaking the truth, the Reds were 1 game back on Thursday. But a 3 game sweep of Florida, and the Cardinals lose 2 of 3 at home to the hapless Cubs, things are looking good again.

My Cubs are (in my opinion) the worst team in Baseball, regardless of the standings and record. I am hoping they re-vamp the team next year. They need to fire Jim Hendry and Larry Rothschild and I am glad it is Piniella's last year, although I love the guy, he is burned out.

However, there is hope. Castro and Colvin are great rookies. If I were Piniella, I'd bench the high payed players that aren't performing and bring up some kids to play.

As us Cubs fans say every year, "There's always next year!"

^Dude, it's bad. Piniella is barely even showing up to the games (who can blame him??). At least they are starting to clean house...too bad we still have a lot of large, lingering contracts attached to questionable players. I wish Hendry would finally get tossed out on his ass.

Totally agree!

i'm seriously wondering if the Braves will be able to hold off the Phillies going into the final month.

Was at the Reds game last night and got see "The Cuban Missle" Aroldis Chapman make his MLB debut. All I will say is "Damn!"

I've never seen a 104 mph fastball live, he has a slider that is 87mph.

He retired the side on 8 pitches.

It may be premature too say, but he might very well be the next legendary closer.

Oh yeah and Joey Votto will win NL MVP.

Go Reds!

Looks like what Brandon Phillips said about the Cardinals was true along. Cardinals pitcher Molina had a fan ejected last night in Milwaukee for heckling him.

I hear players get heckled all the time, I've never seen a players feelings hurt to the point that have the fan ejected.

Philips said the St.Louis Bitches are a bunch of whiny bitches. And so far just this year the Cardinals have
1. Bitched about it being to wet to play, and their gloves getting too wet.
2. Bitched about Mike Leake wearing a "Live Strong" bracelet that they say distracted them
3. And now this. Actually having a fan ejected for doing what happens countless times at every game.

They really are what Phillips said "Whiny Bitches".

Well men...and women...it's coming down to the end of the season now, and there are some interesting races...what are you guys thinking now about how the post season is going to shape up? I think Philly is peaking at the right time, I think the Rays are gonna be hell to play and I think the Yanks (although I love em) are gonna struggle....

I couldn't begin to tell you who is going to win the WS, I think it's often a matter of luck once the playoffs start. I really hope the Reds win it all. I know there bullpen isn't too good right now, but hey anything can happen in the playoffs right?

Nobody gave them a chance in 1990, and they won the World Series.
I do know one thing, Cincinnati has been waiting for this for a looong time, and I for one am anxious for the playoffs to start.

i really hope the rays go all the way. they definitely have the talent and drive this year, and its been a great re-introduction to baseball for me.

THE CINCINNATI REDS ARE YOUR 2010 NL CENTRAL CHAMPIONS.
What a great accomplishment for a team that hasn't made the postseason since before I had any pubic hair (1995)!
And to think about how young this team is this year, they will be great for years to come I believe.

There GM Walt Jockety is a genious, and it's so nice having an owner who is a Cincinnati guy as well in Bob Castillini.

I must admit I got misty eyed when I watched them celebrate. And they way they clinched it, a Walk Off first pitch HR in the bottom of the 9th by Jay Bruce, it couldn't have been any sweeter!

But as their left fielder Johnny Gomes said last night, they have to keep there eyes on the prize, which hopefully will be two more championships this season, the Pennant and the Trophy!

I am proud to be a lifelong Reds fan today! :)

Well its down to the wire..........Need the yanks to lose, or us win.....I would much rather play texas than minnesota in the ALDS.

Go Reds baby!

I have been watching my Reds 1990 WS Championship DVD alot this week and I have a great feeling this year about them. They remind me alot of the 1990 team. Decent but not great starting pitching, and MVP type player, great offense and great moxie all around.
