mlb 2010

The Cards just got swept by Houston, and Red Hot Cincinnati is only .5 games back, with a 3 game series this weekend against St.Louis at home! 1st place here we come!

Tell me about it. I have Aramis Rameriz on my fantasy team, he has been the biggest disappointment in all of baseball. Just horrible

smot- Them Reds have been playing great ball, even if their last 3 have been against the Pirates. I go to Arizona State and the Reds drafted our pitcher Mike Leake, and dude has been a stud so far in the MLB. Something like 3-1 with a 3.20 ERA

Leake has yet to lose this year. 3-0! I think the Reds will take either 2 of 3 or sweep the Cards. Carpenter isn't pitching in the series, so that bodes well for Cincy.

I have been raving about this kid for a good while. I got to see him pitch for 2 years in college. Very dominant pitcher for my college powerhouse program.

Nice to see some Reds fans here!! Cant wait to see what Chapman does

Well the Reds keep on rolling! 1st place has a nice ring to it! And make Leake 4-0 he should be a candidate for the Cy Young this year.

I was there.

LUCKY BASTID!!!

You know what I find the coolest about that? Weeks earlier, that spat between him and A-rod... when A-rod said "he's only got a handful of wins in his career..." in an attempt to invalidate him. Guess what A-rod, you prick, now one of his wins is one of 19 perfect games in the history of baseball. That's all the validation you need sometimes. In a round about, much classier, kind of way... it really makes A-rod look like an ignorant, arrogant, piece of shit. :)

That's a bit over the top

But he would get my early vote for rookie of the year

Bump!

Since this thread is barely alive I will take the opportunity to say "Way to go Reds"! Alone in first place and not slowing down.

Beat the piss out of the Houston Astros today

They got a very talented group of young players. Scott Rolen is playing like is 8 years younger.

I am in love with Mike Leake. Went to school with the guy

Daaaaaaaaaamn... so how about Strasburg. He's still on the mound, but in his debut... he's in the 7th inning, has 14 Ks, 0 BBs and has thrown 65 strikes out of 94 pitches.

Yeah the Nationals are going to be amazing in a couple years. Maybe someone here knows the guys name but didn't they also just draft a phenom power hitter?

Yeah, Bryce Harper. With the combination of him and Strasburg, there's no doubt they'll be a better team, but they've still got some work to do.

There was a girl who was asked about her thoughts on Strasburg the day before he was scheduled for his debut... the girl said "Oh he's awesome! We're gonna dominate now!" Ummmmm hello??? He's a starting pitcher, meaning she'll only see him once every 5 games. And the likelihood that he'll win EVERY game he pitches isn't great. So domination is really a bit of a stretch.

A fan fell out of the second deck of the stands in the Indians/Rangers game in Texas. The game was delayed for a bit while they sorted things out, but they just carried the guy out of the park on a stretcher and he seems to be, surprisingly, conscious. Not sure yet if he landed on seats, the walkway... or what. The guy was trying to catch a foul ball hit by Nelson Cruz when he toppled over the rail plummeting to the lower deck.

Best wishes to that guy.

Edit: So here's the update.

It's a 30 foot drop, the guy is responsive and was able to move all his extremeties. They rushed him to the hospital. When he fell, he struck 4 people upon landing. All four have been examined and are ok.
