I'll try my best to type in a learned manner and be politically correct, but if you got a bone to pick, flame away. Anyways...
Abra's List of Relatively Safe Downer Combinations
1)Benzos + Benzos (diff. types don't really matter, compete for the same receptors)
2)Benzos + Ambien or Sonata (similar to benzos but even less potent in terms of respiratory depression)
3)Benzos + Alcohol (a VERY COMMON mix that INFREQUENTLY causes any problems, nothing that common sense can't prevent)
4)Benzos + Opiates (reasonable amounts of each, start small, combination used in hospitals fairly commonly and without mechanical ventilation)
Abra's List of Dangerous Downer Combinations
1)Barbs + Benzos (I mean REAL barbs like nembutal, seconal, NOT butalbital or phenobarbital; why would you combine these two anyway?)
2)Barbs + Alcohol (Ok if you are a vintage [soon to be deceased] movie star, otherwise you will likely just turn blue and die in relative obscurity)
3)Barbs + Ambien or Sonata (Probably very little additional danger over barbs alone, but strong barbs can easily be dangerous by themselves; almost anytime barbs are used in a hospital setting [sedation, status epilepticus, etc], mechanical intubation/ventillation is mandatory)
4)Barbs + Opiates (You are really asking for it; if you use small doses of each, you minimize the dangers, but still...similar to alcohol+barbs).
5)Opiates + Alcohol (People have died from this combination but still many people combine these drugs in copious amounts every Friday night; the most important factor is the potency of the opiate; a percocet or a few hydrocodone and some alcohol probably won't kill you, but a duragesic patch and 11 games of Asshole probably isn't a good combination)
None of the above info. is meant to be factual, just my personal observations and experiences. If you want facts, call the DEA.
