Miscellaneous Rants Part V

I've written 13 pages of revision for an exam tomorrow.
Funny how i leave it till last minute to do it, then bitchmoan about stress, about not having enough time and about the workload.
It's also good to know that this is my easy exam. The next two are going to shaft me big time.

how people think that I GIVE A SHIT that their stupid rental house is falling apart, and feel the need to yell at me about it even though ITS NOT MY FUCKING PROBLEM, NOR DID I CAUSE IT!

if you want a house that isnt a shithole, don't rent!!!!

People can't afford to buy, that's why they rent. Duh.

It's the landlords responsibility to keep a dwelling up to a livable standard. Most landlords use a real estate agent to manage a rental property.

Do you see what I'm getting at here?

Oddly enough, I also thought it was the problem of the people working at the estate agents to ensure that the house was functional. I thought that was the reason why landlords used an agent, so they had someone to deal with the complaints and sort out the problems.

i cbf explaining all the details of my job and real estate agents sections on rentals, ive worked for this estate agency for 6 years, and ive never had anyone come in that was so fucking rude. and im not the rental manager so its not my job as a recpetionist to be fucking yelled at! and people shouldnt come in and abuse people just for the fucking sake of yelling at someone who doesn't even deal with rental properties.

i simply say "ill pass that on, and she *the rental manager* will deal with it" but i get yelled at.

and i stick by my statement, if you dont want a shithole, don't rent one.

Sorry kryalkastle, I didnt mean to upset you in any way and I now have a better understanding of the position you are in and feel for you. It's a crappy situation when you are the frontline for others and therefore cop abuse that should clearly not be directed at you.

If you are having problems like this frequently then perhaps you should suggest to your boss (or bosses) that they need to follow up the reason why you are getting abused by customers. If the estate agent in charge of rentals is not pulling their weight then it is unfair on the others.

I agree that the customer is wrong in this situation and perhaps they are just a bad customer, which is an unfortunate reality. About that time is a good time to say "I'll just go and get the property manager for you", then piss off out the back and get someone who is qualified AND PAID to deal with the situation, it shouldnt be your problem.

I sympathise with the customer also though, real estate agents are renowned for being useless self-absorbed twats who couldnt organise themselves out of a paper bag.
 
that doesn't appear to be much of a valid answer (especially given that i, personally, have been applying for jobs for some time now, and still can't get one, despite the fact that i'm quite qualified).

well i have a house and im not earning THAT much. you can get a house if you REALLY want one.
p.s - this is not meant for anyone as a "stir"...just merely defending my own self :)
