If I'm eating say a bowl of rice and my cat sticks it's head in the bowl when I'm not looking and eats some if it - then if I microwave the rice until it's really hot would that kill the bacteria from my cat's snout?

Thanks.

I don't think it will. It has to be at a high enough temperature and I don't think your microwave temp is going to do it.... There are other germs on the bowl you have your food in anyways besides the ones from your cat. We have germs on our hands....never are our hands completely clean. (I watch the doctors lol kind of something I should keep to myself). Your cat's snot isn't going to kill you. Trust me I had cereal after my cat was licking milk out of the bowl and that's been more than once lol.... You won't even get sick from it. I'm highly sure about this.

Personal experience and I had five cats sadly two passed away last year.

Microwaving on high is going to cause way more damage to your food than cat snot will.

Besides, rice in particular tastes like shit after being microwaved.

You'll be fine. That's what we've got immune systems for.

I think the worst part would be the endless vomitting from how disgusting that is!

..I just hate cats. I hate cat food. I hate how snooty and arrogant and stuck up they are. I hate how they want want want and never give back (like a dog)....

Sorry...I was once cheated on by an ex-cat and never really got over it.

My favorite cat lies upside down on my lap and licks me on the chin until I scratch her tummy. They all sleep with me, all three of them - assuming I don't have company. The biggest one sleeps on my feet. The middle-sized one sleeps on my knees. And the smallest one I hug when I go to sleep (she nuzzles in, under my arm). They are far the most affectionate animals I've ever seen.

If you had a bad cat experience that sucks.

But cats are like dogs, and kids. If you raise them well they will be beautiful.

It is, admittedly, slightly more difficult to train cats than it is dogs. I used to carry my cats around when they were kittens. I'd take them everywhere. They'd sit on my lap when I was driving the car, I'd have them on my shoulder in the supermarket (surprisingly nobody complains about this when it is a cute kitten). If you give them that much attention, then they will be absolutely awesome pets. They won't be snooty or arrogant or anything like that.

That shit comes from neglect.

Yes, I am a crazy cat person. When I was little I hated cats too because of a bad experience.

But since then I've learnt, that was just a bad cat.

Everybody loves my cats. Even people who hate cats.

(This is totally off topic. I just had to stick up for my kitties.)

Sorry..I feel I should let you know I was joking. Did you not get that from the fact I said I was cheated on by a cat?

Also, I have a cat that is 18 years old and 2 others, have raised kittens aswell and I still hate them. In no way do I neglect my cats, AT ALL, they have toys, get shitloads of attention, get fed well etc etc....I jst don't like them one bit...don't like their attitude, don't like what they REPRAZENT! Prudish little cunts.

Each to their own eh. I just feel dogs are way, way more companionable, will stick up for you, can understand you better than a cat can. Again, personal experience/opinion.

You like your cats and thats fine. Though people who love cats tend to be not quite all there in the noggin' department ;)

Exactly what I was going to say.

Going to go ahead and close this as you seem to have gotten your answer and there are cat discussions elsewhere. ;)

Just wanted to say that I enjoyed the OP's spirited cat-defense.
