MI, Detroit - 05.26-05.28.07 Movement: Detroits Electronic Music Festival

If your up to date with shit, ud know richie is the man again, spinning wicked sets again, check out you tube bc he owned in miami. He WILL show come on lol... its an all star line up from minus dude... its worth 25 bucks. There might be a trance party on the otherside of detroit you could hit up for 5 bucks.

"and he gets hate from the 'D' bc hes good and hes white", dont believe me, read up. - paraphrased quote by derrick may.

Besides, we're lucky that demf is even going on still, let alone the reason most come to demf; the afterparties.

i hope by party goods you mean lube, double ended dongs, and butt plugs.

well, if derrick may said it and it's on the intruweb... well...

i'm sure he gets hate from the D because he's viewed as a city-hanger-on

if it's Windsor that's cool... that's him.

if it's Detroit.. he'll take that, too.

Berlin? No problem.

Wasn't it San Paulo before Berlin? I believe he was rockin' the Brazil for awhile.

this may be an unfair assessment, but i bet that's the reason he gets hate more than not. (altho' Detroit is known for their world-class racism... so the white thing is certainly possible).

dude...the last youtube video i saw with richie was him passing out behind the decks in the middle of a mix lol

and besides that i think hearthrob and gaiser would make the show much more worth that price tag...

personally i'm going for the Ghostly afterparty because matthew dear is just fucking out of control hot right now...imo he is eclipsing many of the detroit techno sacred cows by successfully crossing over and making SOULFUL music. i <3 dirty/grimey techno, too, but he has just been unstoppable. i just appreciate what he is doing for the techno movement...i truly look forward to seeing him and ryan elliot steal the show on the detroit stage on sunday (which i'm assuming is the underground pavilion??).

matthew dear matthew dear
ftw ftw ftw ftw ftw ftw ftw

DEMF is not about richie and his afterparty...it's about electronic music. i could name about a dozen other artists that i would enjoy seeing much more than richie hawtin. i give him mad credit for accomplishing what he has done but the fact of the matter is that i just don't agreet that presales for the m-nus party are worth $25.

%)

is that way faster???

just curious...i've always gone up 69. or do you swing through ohio to rendezvous
with friends,etc.?

it's about 4.5-5 hours. I mean, 75 takes you right through downtown, and 69 is usually a disaster.

mapquest says taking 69 is shorter, but the one time we went that way it seemed like it took a lot longer.

Can't wait!

So excited about this weekend! I've never been to DEMF so this should be an interesting experience! Any suggestions on things to pack/bring along? Who all is staying at the Holiday Inn downtown? :)

bring bootie wipes because you never know when that 30 minute wait for the bathroom is too much to bare, and that corner over there is lookin' mighty good.

this is the

"need i say more II" party aka Open Air party aka Agave II

Monday morning @ the Old Miami, 3930 Cass Ave 7am - 3pm.
Seth, LoSoul, Damien Lazarus, Butane, Bill Patrick, Troy Pierce and a few others

TRUST ME, do not miss this. Last year it was a bunch of regional djs scheduled and it turned into mdear, ryan elliott, butane, seth troxler and troy pierce playing until 3pm... even magda showed up to dance around in the crowd!

renae all you need to bring is gum, cash, sunglasses, and a flask :)

first time i went we were packin a vintage bottle of this:

Pernod-SA2.jpg

yeah...my friend heisted it from his dad who is a wine/alcohol connoisseur. i don't know if it was as old as this bottle here but it was definitely over 50 yrs old...

needless to say the green fairy ensured the majority of that time we spent drinking it was a blissful blur%)
