Opioids MGM 15 Megathread

Hello fellow opi heads, with the new banning wave of Kratom and 7OH, MGM-15 has been gaining some attention, especially in the already banned states. From my own experience and the little information available about MGM-15, I call it the methadone of Kratom. It lasts around 10-12 hours instead of 4 hours like 7oh, and is also twice the potency of 7oh. It is also unique in the sense that it is a partial DUAL ACTION agonist. It activates both Mu and Delta opiate receptors. I have been very strict with my use of MGM-15 however, since it also raises tolerance faster than 7oh and has reportedly worse withdrawals than 7oh. People who started using MGM 15 consecutively to replace 7oh had major withdrawal symptoms trying to switch back to 7oh, because 7oh doesn't touch the Delta receptor. I use MGM 15 once or twice a week at most, and continue using 7oh. However, ever since I've tried MGM 15 my 7oh doses became feeling weaker and I'm debating if I should switch to MGM completely. It is sure nice not having to dose three or four times a day or waste as much money, but it is a bit more expensive both financially and has worse withdrawals physically. I also want to sort of gatekeep this analog because I fear it will explode in popularity just like 7oh, and it is ALREADY being sold in some smoke shops under a different sort of branding.

Let me know your opinions/experiences with this novel drug.
Isn't mgm 15 part of the ban? I was under the impression that tomorrow when the 7 oh ban starts it also includes mgm 15

Yes it is explicitly listed in the ban, along with MGM-16.

DEA announced its intent to temporarily place in Schedule I three 7-OH-related substances known as mitragynine pseudoindoxyl (MP), dihydro-7-hydroxymitragynine (MGM-15), and 9-fluoro-dihydro-7-hydroxymitragynine (MGM-16), "including their isomers, esters, ethers, salts, and salts of isomers, esters, and ethers." The notice states that MP is a "chemical rearrangement product" of 7-OH, MGM-15 is "derivative of 7-OH," and MGM-16 is a "highly potent opioid and shares a similar pharmacological profile with [MP] and MGM-15." It further states that all three compounds are "potent opioids that share a similar pharmacological profile with 7-[OH]" and "produce analgesic effects that [are] more potent than morphine." The notice indicates that MP and MGM-15 are currently available in the consumer marketplace. While DEA has not found evidence of consumer sales of MGM-16, it has identified a vendor site listing it for future sale, and thus concludes that "to schedule MGM-15 without MGM-16 would create a regulatory loophole that manufacturers are already poised to exploit." The temporary scheduling of MP, MGM-15, and MGM-16 will not be limited to substances containing threshold amounts of the compounds.

How was I just able to purchase 50 tabs today and it doesn’t say anywhere that 7oh is specifically Federally banned?

Most of my vendors are still selling 7oh but not pseudo or MGM15 anymore.
Because you can sell off the dead stock but not reorder. Thats how these things usually work. They can recoup their losses but there won’t be any restock. All the shelves at the shops near me are all cleaned out already. The executive order went through like two weeks ago.

I was under the impression that if a substance becomes “federally banned”, it can’t be sold/in possession at all.

Everywhere I’ve looked, it’s saying 7oh is still unscheduled but MGM15, 16 and pseudo are done for as of today - schedule 1.

I just read something on this. Apparently, it comes down to MGM15 and 16 and Pseudo being purely synthesized chemicals and thereby can be outlawed immediately. But 7oh is a naturally occuring substance which they are not 100% banning ( ie they aren't banning kratom leaf even though it contains 7oh). Apparently the regulatory process of determining exactly how much 7 oh a product can contain is still going on and will be resolved in September.
Pretty weird that it's playing out this way. The state and locals don't go through all the process.

...all the same, I think it's better to begin working towards quitting now, rather than just mass stocking up because the iceberg is straight ahead. Here's a chance to set your stash up for tapering
This shit is all so confusing. It’s not like black and white. It’s as if some states ban this substance while able to sell others, other states ban those substances selling this, etc.

On a state by state basis, or town by town, yes. It's a mixed up mess, right down to the fact that some states and local governments ban even kratom leaf powder. But the federal bans override all state and local govs. When the final federal 7oh ban is finalized, no one will sell 7oh

Texas along with other states apparently banned MGM AND 7OH so idk what the deal is in every state but this stuff is confusing. Sometimes even when something is “banned” the government will still allow retailers to sell off their own products in order to avoid financial losses. Each state operates differently in the U.S. though. Good point 👍

Yup! And I don’t think raw Kratom leaf will be banned anytime in the near future because the FDA and WHO already tried that twice in the last decade and they failed thanks to all the petitions to the American Kratom Association. The WHO wanted to ban kratom INTERNATIONALLY back in 2016 which is ridiculous and I’m glad that the USA no longer supports the WHO whatsoever. Fuckem

And here in California, all kratoms products were banned for sale in the state early in the year, including leaf. However, possession is not illegal. Anyhow, I immediately ordered some online and received it no problem, no law breaking for me.l. I guess the out-state-seller could have been prosecuted, but it was right after the ban started so I doubt they were monitoring the mail.
