Methoxetamine Discussion Thread

^ Ha ha, it could be the new DXM. ;)

I remember in fastnbulbous' first trip report he noted that it really helped relieve his cold... if I had some I'd try it out for that right now as I've been hit by a bad cold overnight. :(

Quick question relating to dosages as I am not 100% confident measuring this stuff by eye... are I allowed to ask what a good set of scales are?

Will 0.01 scales even be sensitive enough to prove useful given that you can easily assume an error margin of over +/- 5mg?

Don't take the risk. You can get a set of surprisingly reliable .001 scales for less than the price of a pizza on fleabay these days.

You need .001 scales for this substance particularly.

Has anyone else noticed that at higher doses mxe has a very strong anti-depressant effect?
It has meant that even when the dosage tested has far exceeded the amount intended that panic doesn't set in (in the way it does with K). This makes a huge difference because I find high dose MXE has a detrimental effect on vision similar to alcohol (seeing triples of everything) and usually this would cause a bad trip through fear

Can't wait to give this a try.

I wonder if it'd help with opiate withdrawals at all? I've only ever tried ketamine in an 'ecstasy' pill, so not very experienced with this kind of dissociative. I'm thinking not so much the acute WD but the post acute...might be a good kind of opiate substitute to use when feeling like you want to get back on? I'm guessing it might tick lots of the boxes, and would probably be better than a relapse.

The anti-depressant effect sounds interesting. The PAWS I'm talking about above from methadone or bupe might last 6 months or so, the worst of it anyway...

On the other hand it sounds like it can be pretty addictive to some who've posted here :) wouldn't want to trade one addiction for another.

Just to add to the already adundant evidence for psychological addiction in this thread - I'm failing pretty hard at my "good long break". I usually have good self control with substances (except pot) and have kicked moderately serious opiate and speed habits without much difficulty.
Doses are still usually < 30mg in a day but the frequency is creeping up slowly. Too much of the stuff lying around, and too tempting to use as a "painkiller" for lack of anything better. Still haven't even tried to "hole" yet, which I do plan to attempt in the next few days using ~30mg rectally (first time plugging anything too!).

Also I have yet to give the "Aussie stuff" a thorough testing as I am polishing off an older batch from India via England. This other lot feels a fair bit stronger and may account for my low dosing. It also makes you look messed up though too, impurities IDK..
Amazed at the doses people are taking. I have used well under a gram in 3 months and still consider my use excessive.

On the anti-depressant effect, people should read the big and dandy MXE thread. Plenty of discussion about it there, lots of stories of this drug changing peoples lives.

^ Yes.
I don't like labels, but I have something resembling PTSD. What I love and what is so healing about this substance is that I can reflect on the really hard stuff from a place that feels very safe and non-self-judgmental. Lots of real, useful work can be done.

Also, streaming dissociative goodness for when you can't figure out what music to play:

Thanks for reminding me of that. Heaps good tripping channel!

Heavy use will destroy all of that. High doses will help you view the trauma from a very dangerous and judgemental way. Like any other psych, abuse is gonna kick you in the arse. I don't find it as comfortable now but it's still a great dissociative but much more like K emotionally.
Late night strolls down the road in pyjamas ensued.

Also now there is no after glow and very much a similar hangover to alcohol.

I really liked this quote from the big and dandy thread

This thread is nearly always at the top in PD.

And the comments are nearly always the same from different people. They are either:

a. I did too much
b. This is a magic/ miracle drug
c. i think im doing too much / addicted.

Sounds like when cocaine first appeared, no?

MXE has always reminded me of coke for some reason.

I haven't found it any more addictive than K to be honest. K at higher doses is more fun if you aren't going out because it feels clearer, unlike the slightly alcohol feeling effects of MXE. I crave the changes in my personality it makes but because of the long duration I don't feel as tempted as I might otherwise be. There is no physical craving, just a mental escape aspect. I previously found cannabis to be more addictive (but no longer do because I find the hangovers so bad)

The problem with repeated use is that the after effects linger so that you can keep in the MXE mindframe without having to spend all your time redosing. If used at moderate to high doses every night its like the nights meld together and you feel like your MXE side can go on forever.
I have also noticed it really makes me think other people are as inebriated as myself even when they are sober. So it's a bit like everyone joins in the MXE world at the same time as you.

iv been insufflating 60mg to get me goin then 10mg mixed in with a cone of weed every 5-10 minutes, went through a gram in one night with 4 other people, some hired P.A equipment and a ipod

Thanks for the headsup Jake. Will most definitely check out that thread before trying some.

Can't wait to give it a go :) been a long time since I've looked forward to trying a new drug this much.

Been weighing up whether I should get some scales or not...I know it's a no brainier from a HR perspective and I'm probably stupid not to. Have people had any issues eye balling doses of the Australian stuff? If I do eyeball doses I'm always overly cautious so should be ok.

Is it easy or difficult to appear sober while on MXE? I'm sure it's difficult at higher doses (impossible :P) but will be starting low, there's just a couple friends/work mates that I'd want to keep any drug use from.

Main effects duration about 4 hours?

Ive had some one with me who didnt know who they are or where and I didnt know until he told me a few hours later.

As long as you arent walking around or ego-deathing, no one will know.

Yeh this shit is NOT something you want to eyeball. The australia powder is pretty dense and you end up having more than you think it looks like. AGAIN, WEIGH UP YOUR DOSES!!!

Especially when you're redosing, it's far to easy to put yourself into an inconvenient state with this stuff.

Ok thanks Sameria, I'll make sure I either buy or borrow some good scales beforehand.

Obviously from a HR point of view you should be using scales but TBH I haven't used scales yet. When you are learning the dose curve that's the most important time to know exactly how much weight is used
