Whats wrong with chronic use then if toxicology isn't an issue?
I didn't say that toxicology wasn't an issue. Out of control drug use is. Toxicology is much easier to control if you already have full control over your drug use.
The point is to not become a meth-a-holic.
Like i said, if everyone that uses meth swtiched to dextroamphetamine, you wouldn't be having this discussion
I'm doing this because I'm not seeing anyone else do it. There are no "if's" to fall back on.
At present, methamphetamine has been used (at least once) by 1% of the world's population. That exceeds the use of heroin and cocaine combined. And meth use is continuing to grow at an extremely rapid pace. It has spread through out Asia, Australia, and North America, and it is beginning to spread through South America. I expect that some time within the next 3 to 4 years, it will pick up in Europe, and then finally Africa.
From my viewpoint, no one is handling this issue properly. The "Just say no" crowd stand around shaking their heads, and may be having an somewhat of impact on the rate of increase. But at the rate this is growing such avoidance promoting measures are nothing more than a disaster.
The FEDs are tossing people into prisons, and should successfully have 25% of the US population behind bars by the year 2020. Not only is that immoral, but there's no way that 75% of the population can pay for 25% of the population to be imprisoned.
The fact of the matter is that more and more people are chosing to use methamphetamine and are liking it. And in the process are acquiring a drug dependency (resulting in chronic use with potential long term negative health consequences). And I'm not even convinced that the majority are developing the dependencies (you'll need to read back through the thread on that one, it's been discussed to death).
I am looking at the problem from a different viewpoint. One of shaping use behavior for those who have already decided to use the drug.
