I don't no if your being joking but I actually am pretty upset we hadn't dated long but he was a good guy who was falling of the wagon hard. Jail will do him good he might get clean but he won't have an easy time in there being white and not nowing any people

Spacejunk would never joke about such issues. All the best to him, He will be fine in jail as long as hhe doesn't try to power over anyone.. Its not like it is in the movies. If u dont fall for the comman tricks in the first weel then your fine, as long as u do ur own thing and dont delibrately piss off anyone. I managed fine and im 5'8 skinny as hell, on the outside connected as fuck but the jail i went to i knew no one so i just did as i knew from people outside and didn't accept offers like free smokes or anything in which people will then later say u owe them a favor.. and slowly made friends with others doing others doing the same. Just tell him to keep his attitude to himself. Dont piss off the 'heavys' because it will not only effect him inside if its bad enough trust me outside as well. Both while his in and after his realease.

A.T

He got put on remand next hearing on 23rd April i went to visit him today and he had a black eye he got his head punched in first day by a black guy for looking at him but he was ok besides they said he's feeling like a smoke and a toke real bad

CANBERRACRACK's behaviour was reckless and he was not only putting his own life at risk, but the lives of others also.

It's a shame that instead of trying to get help and change his ways, he chose to continue to use meth even while he was inpatient, and continuously committed crimes that impacted innocent people to fund his addiction.

I'd much rather he got help and got better, but he has clearly demonstrated that he is not willing/capable of doing so - jail is probably the best thing for everyone at this stage.

I'm glad he's now off the streets and that no one died as a result of his poor choices. I hope he gets his shit together and can live a healthy and productive life.

Sad story.

If Canberracrack was doing bad outside of prison why would he do any better inside? Prisons don't fix people. They barely have any sort of "rehab" and the vast majority of people inside are mentally ill, unhappy and more then likely destine to lead a life flipping between prisons and outside. The vast majority of them come from troubled upbringings. Drugs are just as rampant inside prisons are they are outside (which makes the whole drug war utterly ridiculous). If CanberraCrack has already gotten into a fight, and considering he utter lack of control when it comes to drugs, I would say that things are more then likely not going to get any better.

Could you tell us what sort of person is he? Is he prone to violence? Middle class, or a "battler" type background? Is essentially a good kid, or his a bit of a pig, racist, thuggish? Whatever?

What can you tell us about his upbringing? If he has warrants out in other states I'd say that despite being obviously well travelled that he sounds extraordinarily troubled.

As for chugs post I only met him a few months ago. He came with a bloke who knew some people I knew in the scene then he was helping out with deliveries and stuff he said he was a private school boy who only started smoking ice around year 12/ end of school then it got out of control he isn't really a rough bloke but he's street smart enough he's been around the scene for years now since he was 18/19 and he's 24 now. He says he can't really fight but he's been in enough to handle himself a bit just not against the kind of people u would find in jail.

His charges were attempted robbery common assault resisting arrest driving an unregistered motor vehicle causing property damage leaving the scene of an accident driving under the influence

His warrants in other states are for car theft a few break and enters and receiving stolen property I think. Not sure how that's getting dealt with Atm

I think he will end up getting a year or something then with time served he might be out before Christmas best case hopefully but then he will probably get taken to SA and VIC I'm pretty upset I'm gonna wait for him but I can't pretend like I'm gonna not see other blokes til then

What does this thread have to do with harm reduction? Does Bluelight allow goodbye threads and the like now?

I guess you could say it has nothing to do with HR, but i tend not to close things that bring people out of the woodwork and post in AusDD every now and again.

I dunno, might close it at some point - but as no part of the BLUA or AusDD guidelines are being explicitly broken...it's at least generated some discussion.

What's the story with Canberracrack's family? I didn't read all of CC's post but yes he was very reckless. Good legal representation can make or break an outcome in legal procedures. If he is using legal aid hopefully he gets someone who is good but if his family could organise someone i think that would help his chances of getting a more lenient sentence. I also mention family as when Canberracrack is serving his time support from family and friends visiting etc would have to help him get through it.

At the end of the day as others have mentioned at least no one died from Canberracrack's activities and he isn't facing a big drug trafficking charge, trust me things could be heaps worse but yeah i wouldn't want to be in Canberracrack's shoes.

To his girlfriend if you could update what's going on i am sure BLer's would appreciate it. Hopefully Canberracrack can log on to bluelight again sometime in the future and talk about how much things have improved.

If Canberracrack is street smart as his girlfriend says he should be ok inside seeing as he is would have detoxed while on remand. Like Andyturbo said if he minds his own business he should be fine. I think there was a thread on the aussie bluelight section about serving time in jail in australia and people mentioned it was no where near as full on fucked up as people make it out to be.

I went to wacol jail in QLD once to visit someone, it was fucking depressing as shit. The whole place was horrible. Guards were pricks who overly searched us and joked about it and then wouldnt let us leave when we wonted to, they kept us waiting for 20 mins or so laughing at us. I heard stories off the person I was visiting and it sounded awful.

I can't think of many places I would think are worse than that place.

^ ones in places like SE Asia and latin america? Indian jail is meant to be really bad...
But yeah, i get your point.
