Opioids methadone taper 90mg to 3.5 so far

I cold turkeyed 125mg methadone back in 09.
It was rough, but one or two bottles of hydrocodone to help the pain was actually the most helpful part of it.
Now that Sub is so plentiful, I would go with that route to help.

I got down to 5mg then switched to oxycodone 15 mg a day since I want OFF this crap!! Going to try and continue my taper off the oxy instead of the methadone. It wasn't an easy transition the normal wd symptoms, body aches lack of sleep, but I'm going on 9 days no methadone! Does anyone know, will this be easier, or harder?? I need advice ASAP. Thank you. Glad you got clean!!

I came off of the same dose of methadone as you BH34, but i was dropped 5mg a week, it was one month of pure hell, spent a few days in the ER, then followed by 2-3 months of being so sick unable to leave the house, the a good 6 months of just feeling intense anxiety and bad insomnia... it got better and better tho, took about a year for me to feel 99 percent normal again. and haven't been addicted to methadone since, this was back in 07-09. it does get better, it just takes everything you have in you to stick it out and do it all the way to the END.
