from the start of this thread, there is a lot of non traditional metal, like metal core and NU metal... there is posts that are black metal to gore grind or grind core too. i just posted a lot of gore grind and grind core comparing it to other nu metal music... i don't think there is too specific of what type of metal they want posted.

a lot of the gore grind i posted from you tube has the word "metal" in the person's you tube title that's posting the stuff. so i definitely consider it metal.. one of the bands i was describing is considered "punk/hardcore cross over mixed with metal" on google... anal cunt is a band that i wouldn't think of as metal, but they've got some reviews in metal magazines and have some recordings with the singers of pantara.,, i dunno. for a while i thought that you needed guitar solos to be metal, but that's definitely not NU metal or a few of the other genres...

i don't see any hair metal or anything posted in this thread.. not a lot of stuff like metallica or iced earth too. i'm surprised with all the NU metal and metal core stuff that has gotten posted since the start of this thread.

i definitely plan to cool out posting so many videos in this thread... but my whole recent string of posts has been comparing knocked loose's guitar tone to other metal core bands and gore grind acts... so since POPPY has been on the jimmy kimmel show recently and i didn't mention her, i have to talk about her. when i was posting this thread. i didn't really have an opinion on her. it definitely wasn't my thing. i flicked through the songs and felt like there was too much going on, and i definitely feel that's true.. but anyways, poppy's band's guitar tone is so much more gore grind sounding than the new knocked loose album that's popular:

the metal parts at the beginning of this is definitely more standard metal than knocked loose. the singing on it kinds of reminds me of evenescene - "bring me to life", but i guess it's totally different when i listen to them back to back.. the guitar with the ambient electronics and singing is pretty good:


less traditional metal. kind of like nine inch nails.. not my vibe, but i know some people like this style of music.


the beginning of the song on this track is so sick. it sounds exactly like something that i would want to listen to. i can't get the switch to the folk part at all, but the chorus "give me bloody" is really appealing... with out the folk parts this song is pretty much perfect. i don't know if it's on purpose, but i feel like when she goes "ooo hey" that it's at the guitar's tone and how most people that appreciate specific distortion on guitar are going to find that appealing.. seems like a joke with their connection to knocked loose, but then again i seem to put a lot of meaning into things and that's not the artists reason for doing it:



this song just generally seems good.. pretty generic rock, not a ton of metal or freakiness in it:



i definitely come off as anti-knocked loose, saying they sound hateful. i don't really like their distortion in some ways, but i have to stress again that some of the guitar parts like the spooky leads are really something that no ones recorded before, so i definitely think it's interesting.. i see the appeal why people would've liked it on jimmy kimmel too. the stage show is pretty appealing. i just feel like the singer wants bad for me for one thing. two it's not the most hypnotic sound to me which is something i get into.. but the guitar is crazy. that album is actually ground breaking... i won't post anymore about it. i just found myself listening to poppy and thought someone might've not thought to check her out too.... i actually even listened to the knocked loose album again after making all these posts the other day. it's got some crazy bass sound too with the deep guitar.... i bet there are some other posters that thought to look up poppy and thought it was great. poppy's sound kind of reminds me of how i don't like the 90's band filter. .. i've seen posters straight up tell people that their play list sucks and the mods don't do anything, so i don't feel like i'm gonna offend anyone commenting on things that i have feelings about... it'd probably make me feel happy if someone said they were into how poppy and filter share similar electronics. i would think you were cool. filter always freaked me out though.
 
^^^^^parts of that make me want to circle mosh... lol... so much more peaceful than those metal core spin kickers.. this cock and ball torture video is funny to me.. the pit is so much more peaceful than that knocked loose performance on jimmy kimmel or any metal core show pretty much.. they are just way more limp and having fun in their moshing and they are throwing glitter and hitting beach balls around happy as hell.. lol.. totally different vibes from different parts of the metal scene:




that Vomit Bath recording is really my style too.. i love the feedback and guitar solos. vocals my style too. that recording just generally works out.
 
i'm pretty sure cock and ball torture's lyrics are all about stuff like men letting women piss on them and other weird sex acts.. this video is pretty funny. it's some kid reading their lyrics:



i'm pretty sure there is a hidden agenda to cock and ball torture and gore grind in general... it's not really about eating people or disturbing sex, it's really the sound that the planet is making and the conscious of animals that are worried that we are destroying the environment.. they just make up fake lyrics to keep the agenda hidden. what i like to think about anyways. that's what it sounds like to me... knocked loose sounds like human hate.

Check this band shitpipe out. I like found when they came out last year when they still had social media and stuff. They abandoned the project sadly(they really didn't give a shit i guess) it's pretty impressive noise grind. The songs like roll around and are real powerful and gutterall.

Sorry to double post. I like all grindcore to a degree but like when bands start like hiding political agendas in there songs where they are exclusively screaming it just kind of rubs me the wrong way.

I'd rather listen to like a grindcore song called "oh shit I shot up and died" or "getting a virus from a tony hawk 3 emulator" (these are real song names btw).

Over songs like.
"What animals really suffer" or "kill women".

Modern grindcore should be a shit post that's like disturbing and funny, politicizing it just makes it not fun.

too much blast beats in shit pipe... anal cunt are the kings of blast... nothing beats the album Morbid Florist. the mix of break downs and blast beats with the weird guitar parts is the best that exists.

i just started to get into early anal cunt.. the vibe on the first demo is totally different. it's like skronk style jazz guitar kind of unlike all their other stuff the vocals are definitely different i don't know if it's really that great but i like it, and then the releases on "old stuff" it's just pretty standard hardcore/metal. lots of good mosh parts that i never really realized when i first listened.. i always was more into the weirdness that went on on morbid florist...

Yeah they really incorporate 80s hardcore into there grindcore. They were really tigh with Slapshot from Boston.

Yeah anal cunt's first album is amazing. I would say "Everyone should be killed" and "40 more reasons to hate us" are there peak albums.

Make sure to look up their unplugged acoustic album on YouTube it is really funny.

what do you consider the first album? they had a lot of demos and stuff. i'm not even sure what is the first offical release is...
this is the first demo i was talking about... it definitely doesn't seem like the same band. some of the vocals kind of verge on what turned into screamo and a lot of the guitar is not really metal. i think seth might've picked some guitarists he liked more after that:

I'm pretty sure this E.P. was there first ever recording.



This is followed by the other numbered song E.P.


These releases I think they were still trying to perfect their distortion and like how they did sound. You can definitely tell with the first recorded E.P. it doesn't sound as good as other albums but still really raw and noisy.

Then they got signed by earache records. The old testament and old stuff collections is just like mixes of old stuff they never released.

Yeah man full blown aids is amazing. That's like Seth Putnam's more serious work like he actually takes the musical integrity of that band more seriously. It's a lot darker and harder. I almost got a full blown aids hoodie it sucks that I missed buying it.
 
eye hate god is pretty sick imo... i don't listen to them too much, but they are pretty big underground in america and probably other places. admired by people in a bunch of different music scenes of metal and hardcore or screamo from what i understand from the net over the past twenty years.

the post above me is pretty average stuff. i definitely can listen to stuff like that... it reminds me of the cover of the black sabbath song "Symptoms of the universe" by sepultura:



i first heard this song on the skate video that can be found on you tube under Church of Skatan" Santa Barbara when i was a kid... that type of music with watching skating fits really well imo... only the first two minutes of the recording i showed are shown in the skate video. i think they recorded two different versions of the song. only the longer version is on you tube.
