Phenethylamines Mescaline curiousity

What's the most common form of mescaline that is main stream available? I'm pretty sure that's what I have access to. Can you tell me if it lacks any of the magic verses peyote

I also have this very big fear that I damaged my heart from long term meth use. I have been having painful and scary chest pains that I swore was a heart attack. Only to go to the hospital and all the tests came back fine. I have been sweating profusely, I don't know if it's because of the California weather and me being on the east coast and not used to it or if there is an underlying condition. I have rapid heartbeat , the irregular heartbeat. It comes and goes I don't feel like this all the time but I feel deep down something is wrong and there's damage.

Hmm. One possibility is that your nervous system is a bit out of whack, which may or may not have been caused by meth abuse. In time and with training, your nervous system may be able to re-balance itself, and it's possible that psychedelics could help accelerate this process if used with care.

Sorry for rambling I just don't want to do a psychedelic and then be scared for 12 hours that I'm going to have a heart attack from discomfort.
Or maybe I just can't do psychedelics anymore? I was just hoping mescaline would be an exception and it would maybe change my perception of life to the point where I can put down a lot of harmful addictions and habits.

For most people including myself, mescaline is felt to be gentler than LSD, psilocybin or DMT. However everyone is different, and a few people find mescaline to actually be more difficult than the others. Some people find the physical effects and/or "body load" to be particularly difficult.

I strongly advise you to embrace patience, with psychedelics and with our healing journey. I'm fond of saying that mescaline demands patience and rewards it. This is reflected in the very long onset of the drug, which takes at least 4 hours to reach full effect, and a total experience lasting at least 12 hours. Even after "baseline", the drug continues to work for some days. The benefits can take a week or more to fully realize.

Start with a very low dose for your first time. Don't worry about having a serious trip and confronting all your demons. The goal of the early experiences is to develop a relationship with the psychedelic and to learn to trust it and yourself. Low dose experiences can be repeated, and beneficial effects can accumulate. As you become more familiar and comfortable with the effects at low doses, you will be more likely to have positive experiences at higher doses.

For each dose, start shortly after you wake up, and plan on devoting the entire day to each experience. The early effects focus on the body, and you may feel tired, achy, or sick. This is completely normal and is the beginning of healing processes on the physical level. For most people most of the time, these feelings dissipate after the first two hours or so, but a lot depends on the condition of your body. Difficult emotions are more likely to emerge around 3 hours in as the mental effects take hold. Try to relax, breathe, and go with the flow. Say a prayer if you need to. Cry if you need to. It's okay. In analogy to the physical effects, the phase of mental introspection will likely fade after some time as well. If after 3-4 hours you are feeling physically and mentally confident, then you can venture into the outside world. On a very low dose, a park or a museum can be a great destination, and you'll likely be infused with a lot of energy throughout the day.

When you increase the dose in future trials, the intensity of effects will increase across the board, and new "layers" will become apparent such that the experience will seem much deeper and profound than it did at the lower doses. On bigger doses, solitude and proximity to nature become more important, IMO. You can usually find pleasant natural surroundings even in a city, but finding solitude may be more difficult if you don't know where to go. Riding a public bus or train could be uncomfortable, and having a trusted friend who can drive you to where you need to go may be helpful. It may still a good idea to start in a comfortable home each time you take a higher dose for the first time in order to learn how your body and mind will react.

A lot of people think you need a "spiritual" or otherwise overpowering experience in order to experience benefits from psychedelics, but I strongly disagree. I believe even low doses can facilitate considerable healing, and the healing doesn't necessarily take place during the trip but also during the days and weeks after. It may be helpful to institute new healthful habits within some days after your trips, for example starting a program of regular meditation or exercise. I find that in the days after psychedelics I feel I have more courage to do things or to make changes that were difficult to do or make beforehand. This is true even if the trip itself seemed unremarkable. This doesn't mean that multiple low doses are completely equivalent to a higher dose experience. A higher dose experience still goes "deeper" in a way that any number of lower dose experiences do not, but a higher dose experience is also more challenging and is more sensitive to preparation. Low dose experiences can help with that preparation.

Very nicely put thank you for telling me all of this I really appreciate it. I feel a little bit better about you saying my nervous system may be a little out of whack and not damaged hopefully. I'm most comfortable when I'm at home so I think I'm going to do it at home and wait until It kicks in until I venture out

Peyote is different.
San Pedro is different.
The cacti contain a bunch of different alkaloids, especially peyote.

Synthetic mescaline I actually describe as a less pushy longer lasting, and more visual MDA.
It's so good.

Before I had taken it, I'd seen Beavis and Butthead do america, and I based my expectations off of that, so I was expecting super intense schizo type experience. But then I realized it was just as much of a heart opener as it is a psychedelic.

There are a few drugs where I don't agree with natural is better, cactus and toads for instance have more alkaloids than synthetic version, pukey alkaloids too. I always opt for less puking for safety. In 2012 i had stomach issues that caused me to vomit>dry heave>tear neck artery and have stroke. So heavy vomiting for me is risk factor I have to avoid. I have done mescaline 3 times now and not puked and done 5-meo-dmt 100s of times without puking. 99 percent of the "natural is better crowd" probably can't source synthetic, anyone can grow a cactus or terrorize a toad.

You're very welcome! I want to remind you again to be very patient and go very slow/conservatively. If working with pure material, 50 mg may be enough to feel it a little and get a taste. Of course everyone responds a little bit different.

When I came back to psychedelics after 11 years of abstinence, I was suffering from dysautonomias. This is a kind of umbrella term for regulatory dysfunctions of the autonomic nervous system. Dysautomias are poorly understood by contemporary medicine and treatments tend to focus on limiting the adverse impact of symptoms. For example, many people are hyper-adrenergic---their nervous systems tend to be way too easily triggered to a highly aroused state, and beta blockers are often prescribed to try to limit that.

Psychedelics including mescaline actually triggered dysautonomic episodes in me. Sometimes they occurred during the come-up, but most often it was right at the point in the plateau that the effects noticeably dropped off. The interesting thing is that in the aftermath of these experiences, the dysautomias I had been suffering from calmed down, and the reduction of my symptoms seemed to accumulate with repetition. Now I'm mostly well and can tolerate full doses of most psychedelics without triggering any episodes. I suspect this improvement has to do with retraining the nervous system to react appropriately to difficult or rapidly changing environmental conditions, and that psychedelics have the ability to accelerate training progress, even as they challenge the autonomic nervous system through their profound actions in the body and brain.

In any case, I wish you the best and hope your experiences follow my own in these regards.

That's fucking hilarious! I'm trying to think of other movie depictions of mescaline experiences---"Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" comes to mind, but of course that also involved a bunch of other drugs too.

That sounds like some violent heaving. Did that happen on a psychedelic?

I've never puked from cactus tea I've made, but some nausea is not unusual for me on heavier doses. I assume based on many reports that pure mescaline is innately nausea-inducing in a dose-dependent way, but of course cacti a lot of other potentially nausea-inducing stuff. A lot depends on how it is prepared or extracted.

One of the best is the scene from Blueberry the western movie. The protagonist and antagonist both drink peyote and have a psychic battle. It's very visual.

I dunno man. Synthetic mescaline has never me nauseous, but a lot of folks do get made and I assume they've higher concentrations of 5HT2C receptors genetically and some people are just more prone to puke than others. I have a good friend, and he pukes every single time he takes LSD, which I've always considered as the psychedelic with the least body load. 2C-D is more nauseating than mescaline by far to me.. Cactus is a different story, maybe the material itself or other alkaloids but with cactus is puke 30% of the time.

If its synthetic, I'd say the most common forms would be sulfate, hemisulfate, or hydrochloride salts. The HCL is the most potent but it usually requires a 2nd step so sulfate/hemisfulfate or a mix are more common than the HCL and the hemisfulate is a close 2nd in potency. I do not want to say that synthetic is any less magic than peyote but it is different. It's certainly cleaner feeling in every possible way. And out of the cacti I've taken, I actually find peyote to be... the most high frequency. Like everything is just vibrating including the air. IMO peyote is probably more likely to induce a difficult experience, then the san pedros, then the synthetic. Again the synthetic is like a way more visual less pushy MDA.
