This just isn't true is it? Alcohols by far the UKs most popular drug, then cannabis and then probably (what is sold as) "ecstasy" and "cocaine". Also mephedrone's been knocking around the UK for a lot longer than a year. It might also be worth mentioning the recent poor quality of blackmarket ecstasy and cocaine being a factor in it's populartity.
 
Read in a newspaper "Taking mephedrone is just like playing russian rouletter" What a fucking joke. The sad thing is people actually believe this shit & it gives them a completly wrong impression :X
 
As someone who likes meph, and who also believes that drugs should be legalised, i'm going to stick my head over the parapet here and argue that meph should be banned.

If (and it's a big if) kids are taking meph in large numbers, then something has to be done. It's pretty obvious that the retailers can't be trusted not to sell to kids (and it's also fucking hard to stop a kid ordering from the internet). The government aint going to educate the kids to the dangers, and kids don't fucking listen anyway.

And we still don't know the long term effects. Now that doesn't matter to us educated BL people, we can make our life choices and "life by the sword, die by the sword" and all that. But kids of 11, 12 13 aren't able to make those choices, and they shouldn't have to.

Of course, the media might be full of shit and kids think meph is a trendy as Spade....and then my argument goes down the bog! :)

Kids take drugs anyway. Mephedrone hasn't made kids start taking drugs its just highlighted it.

True. But it seems plenty more are taking meph than coke and pills, mainly down to the fact it's so easily accessible.
