Mephedrone Megathread VIII: Hnnnng!

they could have had class A's too

I presume it's possible that they just had meph but are being arrested 'on suspicion of supplying class A's' as they are in possession of anonymous powder which will need to be tested. I also presume this means they will be there to answer police questions about this death, which makes things neater for the fuzz.

If it's gotten as far as the police toxicology report being released, I think it's fair to say the police know what the substance was. It was an anonymous powder on the night they seized it but it can't be now.

Why do all the media keep calling meph 'meow meow', its driving me mad seeing that everywhere. WHO THE FUCK CALLS IT THAT

ive never heard any one call it meow meow. the only name other than meph or drone ive heard it being called is megatron

Probably some retarded group of kids somewhere called it meow and the media latched onto this somehow. I don't think I could bring myself to call a drug that lol

The media have aaallllllways loved "slag" terms for drugs though haven't they =D
"Ketamine, also know as Horse Horlicks, Bagtitty-wee-wee, The face of god, and super mario kart..."

All this media hysteria over mephedrone, combined with the multitude of misinformation and ignorant quotes flying around, is making me go crazy in the head!

Its called mcat here, which is just about passable 'meow meow' is the stupidest name i've ever heard for a drug, though i did like the combination of meph + ket dubbed 'mortal kombat'

It's only when journalists turn their attention to a subject in which you have some expertise that you realise they talk a load of old shite half the time.

also, QFT.

Just turned on Radio 4 and caught the end of rockin' John Humphries interviewing a bloke called Mr Welsh.

Mr Welsh's son takes meph every day even though he knows it isn't good for him. He get himself into some psychotic states.

Mr Welsh was very reasonable and I felt for the bloke. He makes the valid point that while banning the drug may not be the solution, a lot of his son's friends would never have taken the drug if it wasn't so readily available.

He's tried getting help for his son but all the authorities have offered is two sessions of acupuncture a week? :\

Poor Mr Welsh he is hurting. He's taking his kid off to the Forest of Dean this weekend to walk and talk but he can't guarantee he'll not be back on the meph come Monday.

It's a hard knock life. The piece should be on the Today prog at 8.40am or thereabouts on the iplayer.

We got to calling it madcat (madtwat) for obvious reasons - suppose that's close to miaow miaow.

I agree that banning it should be the next step - not at all my ideal, which would be far too liberal, but within the society we have to live in it is the only way of offering control. It's use and misuse has gone way beyond the realms of 'semi responsible' tweakers (difficult to use those words together lol) and has hit mainstream ijuts who don't care if the brain takes approx 2 weeks to recoup properly to have another damn fine time on it.

Sorry but the love affair will have to end, but for now parrrttaayyy while the going's good.
