Men like women with no makeup? WAT??

I find it disingenuous that men claim to like women with no makeup when in fact they might not even know if the woman is wearing makeup when they approach her. I'm not talking about the caked on look...I'm talking about subtle, stylish makeup. A little powder, mascara and lip gloss (that's what I wear) can mean me looking like a million bucks and me looking like a worn out drug addict. It does wonders for us.

This is a good thread, I've always kind of wondered this myself.. I've been told this also, but then fantasize about women plasted w/ it.. Men don't fantasize about these celebs, porn stars, or whomevr, w/o make up on or in a natural look..
Men are confusing. :) .
 
I like wearing make-up. Mostly in extreme ways, to make me look less natural/less gender-defined. It's a form of self-expression, just like fashion. I usually do something akin cats eyes but with a bit more of a downwards hook, a lightning-shaped tear with eyeliner from the middle of my eye (only one eye) and small circles next to it. I like computer circuit patterns too.
 
I think that they just prefer the "natural look" but let me tell you guys something, as a model, when a client requests that the make-up artist does "natural make-up" at a photoshoot, it usually still takes about an hour for them to get that shit on.
 
Im confused.
This thread was started by a woman in disbelief that men only find women that wear make up attactive.
Men proceed to comment that, in fact, this tends to be true. A lot of men prefer no (or less) makeup.
Women then comment in their defense about their choice of wearing makeup.
I don't get it. Do the women here not believe the men commenting, or are they feeling self concious and justifying themselves to each other?
I dont mean any disrespect to the women, but take a fucking hint already.

This post made stranger by seeing my own girlfriend comment on page 3. She wears 0 to minimal makeup and I STRONGLY prefer it that way...and she knows that.
If she wants to doll herself up, then whatever, but I actually think she looks better sans makeup.

I think to some degree men like the no makeup look because typically the only time you see a woman without makeup is when you wake up next to her.

It's a whole new level of naked.
 
Question for the ladies.
Would you rather have a "plain" looking man in overall decent health, or a man who went and got himself some bicep and other various muscle implants, and was the same health as man 'A'?

You, of course, would instincually go towards man 'B', that man that displayed better health. Upon learning of the artificial means to present that health, would you still want man "B" in lieu of man "A"?

That's how I see makeup, as a man. Artificial health...as was presented earlier in the thread.

I dont see an issue with woman WANTING to use it and look nice, but NEEDING it, meh...no thanks
 
I like girls who wear makeup, provided they do it properly and only get dolled up for major events like weddings. I just broke up with a girl who didn't wear any makeup and still looked beautiful (better than she did with makeup), but she took otherwise poor care of her appearance. Still looks alright (until you get up close and see the cracks beneath the surface) but I'll be damned if the girl spent one damn second making herself look better.

Makeup is a sign that a girl gives a fuck about herself. If a girl is wearing makeup for you, it means she cares to look better for you.
 
Fair enough thought.
It's just my personal preference with my lady. I find she looks just as pretty without makeup.

I still agree that most girls look just as pretty without makeup. It still says something about how they take care of themselves.
 
If I can tell she has makeup on I don't like it. If it starts to smear in any way I really don't like it.

I like knowing that she doesn't spend much time (or anytime at all) and is confident in the way she looks. Plus if I'm sleeping over with the girl I'd rather she look the same in the morning as at night.

That said, special occasions I can see putting on a touch of makeup if you like.
 
I don't wear much makeup, except for a little bit of coverup to even out my skin most days. I work in a dog daycare, which is a very dirty job, and I don't need to impress the dogs with my face. Do a bit more when I go out with eyeliner, mascara and a little bit of eye shadow. I don't think I really need that much makeup anyhow...not really seeking any additional assessment of my attractiveness on a daily basis from outside sources, though it is fun to look a little extra sparkley when I go dancing.

BF tells me I am beautiful almost every day, irregardless if I wear makeup or not.

Now, that isn't to say after the guy gets to know a girl and loves her personality that she is beautiful to him even first thing in the morning. I've had those moments too, but those initial moments where attraction is important, makeup is a part of the "beautiful woman" persona that men are looking for and (maybe) don't realize they are attracted to.

totally lysis,i find it more attractive when women just wears a tiny bit of eye make up and nothing else,i would mind those media women most me prefer real breasts also. i love curvy women more too,i like a women thats a size 12!!!to me they look like what a real women should,i was with a size 6 women before and having sex with a bag of bones was just gross! you women dont have to do give yourself half the work that you do!!
 
I dont think guys realize how much makeup actually changes the girl for the better

I dont mind girls without it, but they do look better with it

any celebrity you see not in a paparazzi picture is wearing a lot of makeup

i find it a massive turn off close up when you can actually see the make up molecules,haha i dont know about you but the most attractive girls i see out and about are not wearing make up,i will admit you dont notice them as much,but when you do they are fucking stunning!!!

It is not easy to find pictures of women working in the entertainment industry (and men) with no makeup, so your point is not really a point.
I NEVER met a guy that cares for the 'style tips' or the 'trendy makeup of this seasons' found on women magazines, and always thought that female fashion is a burden that women impose upon theirselves, and a weapon that they use to kill their rivals in the sexual competition (often, prettier rivals).

This said, I will admit that heavy makeup does catch my attention (like a nice dress, or a very colourful one, or a shiny new gadget in a shop window), but does not necessarily make a woman more beautiful or pretty.
As for the 'natural look' makeup.. well, I really think that you (women in general) could stop using it tomorrow and the average man won't care. Of course this implies that you're wasting your time/money, so it's not strange that most women oppose this view, and prefer instead to project _their_ point of view/aestetic judgments on the other sex.
