Melbourne - *REVIEW THREAD* Two Tribes 2004 - Mar 7 - Melb Park

i don't think the power failure in bt's set was a set up because i was in the outside part of rod laver and everything went off, even the lights in the toilets and stuff.....we thought it was quite funny actually, we thought that 20,000 people were going to start a riot if the music was permanantly off *lol*

and 1234, "are you gonna go my way" was one of the highlights of my night too :)
 
The whole event didnt shut down though, did it?
I thought it was just Rod Laver (ie. the area that could hear BT's music properly, albeit through the wall)
makes sense to me

Arrived around a lil bit before 11, on my own and meet up with t'nargus and his freinds then ventured on to the BL meetup as normal Im late for everything and missed half of it, meet up with some old bl mates, Tomo, Moe, jollercoaster.. great seeing you guys again and finally got to meet 1234!! yay!

Sat around on the grass for a bit and listen to t'nargus try and talk music with 1234 haha then ventured off to see Kelsta.. yay Very much enjoyed untill someone took off withmy kemical jumper.. which put a damper on me for a lil while...
I heaps enjoyed Hellraiser and rocked with my last yr's TT mates then ventured off to see what was happening in hardware..

Vitalic was awsome and bumped into KryalcastleE your such a sweetie.. Rocked away with Moe and meet Hardicus.. oh seen and met muzzby.. I'll post my pic's of you guys when I get my net back on!!

All round had a good night apart from feeling a lil sick, loosing my jumper and making a fool of myself while listening to Kelsta.. hahah (* laughs to t'nargus*.. hehehe thanks guys for a wonderful night....

P.s only had to pay $50 for a ticket so I'm not complain'n=D

All I know is I had a great time, commercialised or not. =D

I'm jaded, I have no problem admitting it, 2 tribes is an okay event. But think about it, without the big names what would it have that sets it apart from other events....

A ferris wheel...

Now I love ferris wheels but I don't believe in paying $75 for a ticket to then go and pay some more dough to ride one... that is all.
 
Who's got enough change to make my brain rearrange? Green Velvet sure did! Started off kind of slow but after the infamous La La Land it went off the hook. Doing his own vocals then ripping out some of the phatest tech beats *drools* Much, much, much better than I expected him to be. It was a perrrrfect intro to the man I had been waiting so many years to see...

V I T A L I C - He certainly fking La Rocked my world! It was with great surprise when I started to hear Poney Part 1 I couldn't help but scream! Never in a million years did I expect him to rip that out, not one live set of his has Poney Part 1 in it and being one of my most fav tracks my wondies had a party to say the least. It didn't stop though he then ripped out that track of his that is still unlrealsed (hurry up and sign to citizen records, please!) that rapes your eyedrums and tears out your insides in a good way, someone pass me the mop please! I don't know if everyone prefered cocaine but they sure were dancing like machines! Absolutely tearing up the 303 *drools* bordering tech with hard edged electro. The night wouldn't have been complete without the dancefloor killer of the world La Rock *screams* Chucking in the sample "Mum, what are you fucking doing to my record?" "I told you La Rock doesn't sound like that La Rock sounds something like this..." Break it down! I came away from the set not knowing if what just happened really did happen or if it was just a dream. My body was shaking with happiness and I couldn't wipe the cheesy arsed grin off my face - I saw Vitalic =D

It's soooooo good to see that not one person didn't enjoy his set =D It's safe to say we will be seeing bigger and better things from this man - and personally I can't fucking wait =D I'm itching for his album in October!

Hardie - good to see you so excited as always! We heard 'the fucking track' LIVE =D

Mr_Audio - I do remember meeting you buddy sorry I couldn't chat with you longer you sort of picked the wrong moment to say Hi ;) Be seeing you @ Clarke?!?

tnargus - You rock matey! The tee was fucking awesome - I love it! Glad to meet you and it was so good to see you enjoying Vitalic's set - See I wasn't wrong ;) I'll e-mail you that photo :)

I went for Green Velvet's set saw Vitalic and then went home - Being around 20,000 munted people really ain't my thang ;)

I saw the man I wanted to see and he passed every expectation I had of him and then some. Vitalic you rock my world =D =D

Haha really whats the point of staying there and seeing things that will only make me sigh and wonder why I went other than to see 2 artists I love ;)
