^^ Totally. The projected sound helped heaps, if we had any low-talkers in the group it would have helped them to be on par with everyone else. But it certainly helped, it was freaky in the beginning though.
I had an awesome time and really happy I went you guys are all sweet people.

going to a meetup normally implies _staying_ there for some time I thought, not just distributing large amounts of kandy :p

I was there, um, seriously I was, arrived at about 4.30 or so, wandered around aimlessly looking for a familiar face, couldn't find one, so I left... Oh well.

And yeah, me and catax spent ages looking for you guys! i went upstairs twice!
 
well it was a fun evening! was really goo to put some faces to names and names to faces!

huge props to Daimo who i managed to drage along becsue otherwise i would have gotten *tres lost*... and ended up wandering around in darwin going "*sorry do u know how i get to bimbo deluxe?" .. or something!!!

and uge props to Moebro, who caught th tram with me, walked to flinders with me and then waited for my trian with me and protected me from the rapists on the way!

hehe! nah it was a fun afternoon, and thanks to all of u who so kndly bought me my beers... damn sucks being a minor and all....
 
Ashaman, yeah, I was there, but only 4-5:30 or so. I had to go home and be gracious and hostlike; we had like seven people round for dinner. Which got messy too, just in a diiferent way =)

We ended up at Alia in Fitzroy, and got told off for excessive dancing.
 
yes. it was fun. sorry i had to leave early but I was in a tie and suit and speeding to a wedding 10 minutes after I left...
 
Hey guys grandad here...the Irish guy who dropped in for a couple. Good to meet up with you all. Thought there might be a bit of a session on but dont worry we found one anyway! If any of you reach Ireland PM me and Ill show you a good night out.

A few thoughts on Melbourne:

The club scene here is unbelievably snobbish and unwelcoming. As a visitor, it was impossible to get into clubs. Ive been all over the world and have never experienced attitudes like Ive found at the door of Melbourne nightclubs. A friend of ours got us on the "guest list" of bar Q. Supposedly a big deal. It was unremarkable- bad bouncy house music and overpriced drinks. Yet everyone we met was in awe of the fact that we were there and full of questions about it.

we then queued for an hour outside revolver. The bouncers made a group of maybe around 40 of us stand there and watch as a steady stream of the bouncers "mates" walked straight into the club. This was a very bad experience. Why do things like this? what makes our money worth less than others (we would have spent a fortune there cos we were a small bit messed up and ready for an all-dayer). The bouncers on the door of revolver are evil little men and we would not go there ever again. It really was unbelievable the way we were talked to and treated.

The club scene here is up its own arse.
 
Secret chamber, well thanks for the info...now (fuckers). Nah I'm just kidding besides if I had stayed I wouldn't have scored free acid and had an awesome night down in St.Kilda, so there!
