Hardware Presents Jeff Mills @ The Metro

Date: Fri 19th November 2004

Hardware is proud to announce the return of Jeff Mills to Melbourne. Our new venue is not looking good for this event, due to council restrictions on exits, so until they knock a few holes in the wall and put in a few more roller-doors, we wont have the capacity we need so have decided to use the stunningly laid-out Metro in Bourke St. Over 3 floors, the Metro will feature 4 areas, un-paralleled views of Jeff in action, plus a line-up of locals to really rock the city.

Early Bird Tickets: $35 available at the usual outlets

*more details to come

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

sweet as!!

never been to metro though....hope we dont get the regular crowd stumbling through.....man i dunno!

sweet AS!

Metro!!!

I *may* go to this, but I've been told something better is on the next night. ;)

Will see I guess.

WOW, I think everyone knows im in hehe Surprisingly I have not seen him yet so it will definately be a treat, and Metro being the venue is not a downfall at all, these types of areas really portray the feel of Europe, which is what Melbourne needs!

Pekkie: What could possibly be better than this the day after? PM me on this one, thanks.

yeh. what could be better???

i havent seen Mills before either. looks like fun. lets hope i have some cash by then.

seen him in 5 different cities now, around the world.
planning to make it 6 :)
Always a great show.

Mr_AuDiO: It's not a tek dj and I probably shouldn't have said that it was better either, but regardless of that I can't afford to go see both....

I've seen Jeff Mills about 5 times or something ridiculous like that. Some of the time he's been really good, but the last time over @ Homelands he was absolutely disgraceful. I'm sure that he was just having an off night though. ;)

Again Mr_AuDiO and I will be front row centre for this one...

Im liking the fact that it is at the Metro. Never been to a Techno gig there, and if anyone can fill it, im sure Mills will be the person. Should be a really good atmosphere if a decent crowd shows up.

I seen him play a few years back. It wasnt the most memorable of nights, so im hoping that he'l have a big one this time round.

Catch ya's there!!

The Hardware Board-Riders Association presents...

Jeff Mills (USA)
Friday 19th November 2004

Hardware is proud to bring back our favourite hero, Jeff Mills for what will be a history lesson in the art of DJing from the 3 deck “Wizard”! In a frenzy of Detroit Techno, European tech-house and that signature tribal sound, Jeff Mills will perform to a hungry Melbourne crowd for the first time in 2 years. His last appearance at Two Tribes 2002 rocked to a packed house of 4000 people! For this event we have chosen the remarkable Metro complex with it’s 3 areas, multi-level capable viewing and it’s wide main-room stage. On massive screens Jeff will perform on 3 decks and his TR-909 on the kick ass concert sound system.

Having just played to over 20,000 people at the Sonar festival in Barcelona and releasing his latest forward thinking offering - The exhibitionist DVD, Jeff Mills continues to wow audiences around the world with his three deck dexterity and feverish musical wizardry. Mills set the benchmark in sonic assault conceptualism when he co founded the seminal Detroit outfit ˆ Underground Resistance and today he continues to push music for the mind, body and soul. The excitement that this name conjures up when seen on a flyer is second to none and Melbourne is ready to yet again see those slender hands and fingers dance across the vinyl at lightning speed as Jeff goes through all the facets of house and techno and everything that lies in between.

While it does sound good, I'm not too sold on Metro.

I was unsure about Metro as a venue until I went to Krafty Kuts there and it was awesome. I'd been to concerts like Cypress Hill etc and they went nuts but wasn't sure how it's cope at a "dance party". The Metro holds up really well for this kinda gig - esp since Mills is such an amazing DJ to watch and you can get lots of great viewing points. I've also still got a soft spot for The Metro from Time underage. hehehe

foath!

I'm all there.

No going out till Lord Mills plays.

Much quivering

*quivers in delight*

I know I'm good, just wait and see. ;)

I'm soooo looking forward to this...

Mills is the master! this is going to rock more than ever

Mills is the man who got me into techno :)

Chances are i'll be at this one, unless i hit Ferry the next evening, but having hit metro recently for a couple of events, it really is a nice intimate venue with plenty of little areas to explore......will work well i reckon for Mills.

that's every corner of melbourne's ever strong techno massive in one event.....
plus one of the masters of party, jeff mills.
