Melbourne Food Society - Fri 31st Aug - Japanese!

^ I'm good thanks :)
soo hot though, thank god only had 3hrs of work in that hot, stuffy environment today. Time to retreat downstars to somewhere cool I think...

what degree would that be? for 3yrs? new as in you changed from another or..?
good luck with it all. Try and not do what the majority end up doing- having good intentions but learning jack during semester then cramming the few days leading up to exams. Then again, if you were to not do so, you'd be going against everything the Aussi uni student stands for =D

Go to night market at the QVM, lot's of excellent food stalls, music and more. Awesome. I ate a camel burger last time I was there, mmmmmm.

Woo!

I was really happy to learn my application into a psychology degree was accepted! I've got two years of Arts under my belt but this degree with still take another three years on top of that. So I'm settling in to being a Professional University Student.

I managed to spread my work over the semesters last year instead of cramming it into the last two weeks before the exam (mostly)... either way I'm gonna have years of practice by the time I eventually graduate. In about thirty years.

FFS, we Melbournites couldn't organise a fuckingfart in a baked bean factory!!!
Why is it always 10 pages until someone sets a date? Who's in charge of this goddamned shenannigans anyway?

*breath*

I say March 17 or thereabout. There. I've said it. Someone had to.

^ March 17 is St Patrick's day, which means:
  • We should really be doing something Irish, like getting really drunk, eating something stodgy and getting into brawls. (In a pinch, I'll settle for just the drunk part, but it will have to be REALLY drunk.)

  • We may have an interstate visitor to inflict ourselves on.

Congrats! hrm you failed to leave things to the last minute....but yeh I'll pay that- after all, you were doing Arts and you'll be at uni for a good thirty years ;)=D
maybe for pratice down the track you could examine some heads round here. Actually, that might be just too dangerous...

good going!! :) it had to be done.

March 17th sounds dandy. Half a week before I go away, I mite have to watch the pennies though. oh but that is a Saturday, will that make it harder to have people available/come? I wouldn't know. Is middle of the week better for people? How bout the night before, given Sat night is also St. Patricks. Or the night b4 that- Thursday nite?
Or we don't have to take my suggestions on board.
I'm on the "less talk more action" side :D

Unless it's the saturday itself, I've got a friend coming to visit so won't be joining in...

That week is also the Melbourne food and wine festival - why not go to something at that?

Why can't this friend come to our shenanigans? ;)

I am really in favour of a Saturday, sorry folks. It is never a good idea for weeknights for those of us 40 minutes from the city. So we are kind of in favour of the date but now undecided about the cuisine? St. Pats day eh...., would it be a travesty to start at Teppinyaki and move on to an irish bar though?

MP: I shall check out the Melbs food & wine festival site for inspiration.

because he's slightly freaked out by the concept of bluelight? ;)

I could probably do saturday lunch...

during the food and wine festival they are having a special deal at heaps of restaurants all over the city for a 2 course lunch for $30....it's on weekends as well which is pretty cool i thought.

perhaps we could do that? there might even be a japanese one...it seems a shame for the food appreciation to not take advantage of its dedicated festival!
