Bolded ones are prefered acts to see @ that time....but i'm still unhappy, but i guess that is unavoidable.....I'd love to see AvB's whole set, as i know seeing part of it won't give a true indication of how good/average/shit it was....but i can't justify missing all of Lee Coombs for it....

Anyhow.....i'm sure i'll cope

i think there is a VIP lane at entrance so you dont have wait in the other lane's for an hour. (i think)

I like the sound of that, hate standing in line for ages - don't really care about the lack of VIP room - doubt I would have even checked it out!

The bbc stream almost caused me to chuck my computer out the window - then realised it wasn't working cos my housemate is download fcking p0rn - still heard enough of armin to put a massive smile on face, 3.5 hours of heaven - FUCK YEAH :D

May I also express my delight at the breaks arena being in the Indoor Courts...that's gonna be fucking amazing I was getting sick of TT confining breaks to the smallest room year after year. Hardware will be big enough where it is (it's in the same place as it was 2004 when Green Velvet + Vitalic shook the place)...

Now i'm starting to get excited. Only prob is my mate who always puts me up for the w/e isn't gonna be in melbs....anyone wanna let me crash at their place?

iv just been listening to Kai Tracid set from a event a few weeks back and sorry to say its was sooooooooooo shit its not funny, no where near hard trace or anything some bop crap haha. don't know why he is closing prob to clear the dance floor, why would he change his style of music.

his last tune was trance and acid but it was the softest version iv ever heard of it.

so if any of you getting excited about him playing something a little hard dont worry about it. unless he is meant to be playing a bit harder for closing who the hell knows.......

I recently heard a mix from him at the dance music awards (I think), it wasn't his usual stuff though.. it was like a classic trance set. not really his style and I doubt he will be playing a set like that this weekend.

^^ I saw Kai @ Sunshine People about 2 years ago when he closed off the main room and wasn't brilliantly impressed....I mean it was good but from a man of his reputation? I have no qualms about saying he isn't as good as people say he is....I'd put Hellraiser's sets above his any day....

kai tracid seriously has gone way downhill. i saw him in 2002 and thought he was ok. but since then i dont really think hes that goddamn special. especially cos he is out here every other goddamn week.

In other news is anyone else (other than myself and MoeBro [who isn't coming]) a fan of Dallas Raft + Dave Pham? They're on in the Hardware room around midnight....they fucking go off tap....i'm lucky enough to be meeting up with them and Kelsta at the show, and might have them @ my gig here in Wagga Wagga in a few months....Would love to rock out with some BLers to them if anyone is keen

So BlueLight meetup @ 1:30am inside the Vodafone Arena. Near the entrance. If it's too packed and there's no room to move or if there are unfriendly security/police moving people out of the entrace walkway then meet near the exit inside the Vodafone Arena

I'll probably be weaing a white & black Gatecrasher hat....

Oh and if the time or place is no good and one of you Melbournians wants to change it then please feel free...

I recon all the good internationals such as PvD, Ferry, Armin ect (maybe even Tiesto) can play sets that are a bit weird or boring... hey they're not robots... they like to play new and different stuff... I don't think that's a bad thing... As they'd get bored playing the same thing all the time and so would we. Personally at Germany's biggest rave of 50 0000 (Nature One) in 2004 I walked away from Paul Van Dyk's set... he only played 1 or two really good trance tracks... and then it got boring... and besides there were 15 or more other arenas to choose from... I've heard wikked recorded sets from Paul Van Dyk like Energy 2003 also same with Ferry and Armin... heard great sets and ones that I wasn't fussed about.... I think it's always a gamble when one of these big trance internationals comes out, I mean you can know and love their music and still you never know exactly what to expect.... but maybe that's not such a bad thing! ...but on another note that's why I love the massive European raves so when you get bored of one big international trance DJ... you can just go walk around and listen to the other 15-20 that are playing at the same time! (Should take note Aussie promoters!)

PS... I loved Kai's set at Nature One in '04, was the highlight of the whole 3 nights I was there! He may not have crazy technical mixing skillz but that's not what interests me... I go there to hear the music that this legend created himself... His music was what got me hooked on trance... and he has sooo many awesome tracks he's made that I love. Was wikked to see him play in his home country at the biggest rave and hear the crowd scream! Awesome set eh... Tracks I remember... Kai Tracid - Tiefenrausch (The Deep Blue) (ASYS Remix), Kai Tracid - Trance & Acid, Tracid Traxxx - EP1 (Tracid Vs Kan Cold), ASYS - No More Fucking Rock n Roll.

yeah it would be pretty good if he played that kind of set. but i just heard his set from the same club as this one but only 3 weeks ago and i wouldn't know what you would call it,

well il let ya know something funny........ i email kai tracid last night telling him that us melbourne ppl like our closing set right off and mind blowing and if he doesn't play right off tune's and kick ass set that he would be clearing the dance floor preety quick if he played sets like he has been playing in the past few mounth

well i got a reply from him in 5min say "I WILL DO MY BEST TO BLOW THE ROOF OFF" :D was very surprised to get a reply from him after the rude email i sent him hahahaha

1.30am is probably a little close to Armin's set for those that want to catch him. How about 1am? As everyone wants to be near Vodafone for Armin, the entrance sounds good... I assume you mean the entrance to the foyer area?

Looking on the map, that would put it on the ground level, inside, underneath the Intrabeatz room.

Haha that's the idea dude... meetup with random BL'ers then by the time eveyones done saying "Hi" and "My what big eyes you have..." "...All the better to see you with..." ect ect... then Armin comes on and can go dance or chill to mad uplifting Armin trance.... If a couple of ya's want to make it ealier then lemme know and we'll change it... All good ... plz not too early though as I'll be runnin round between coatcheck and stage and back to coatcheck trying to get a record signed by Schulz and o course plan on about 20 things distracting me along the way

Foyer?!? Ground level?!? LOL.... Dude I have no idea it's only my second trip to Melbourne and Vodafone & Rod Laver and half that stuff wasn't open for GodsKitchen when I was there so it'll all be new to me... see now why I was askin a Melbournian to organise it? heh, heh 8) oh well.. all the more random and fun.

So yeah basically I dunno the layout too well but I recon if there's doors or an entrance or whatever to Vodafone Arena meet just INSIDE. So if there is a lockout you are inside the arena and gettin locked in for Armin's set :D. So basically it will be the 1st place inside the Vodafone Arena doors where it's physically possible to stand and hang out... if it's absolutly packed to the tits at the entrance and it's just not possible for people to meetup there coz your sqwished into the person infront of you or whatever, then the meetup will be near the exit inside the Vodafone Arena...

ps... Only 3 sleeps to go by my books!

FOR A MEET UP: how about just outside the pharmacy room? (Upper Vodafone West Wing) to get there u basically walk thru the vodafone doors, as if u were coming from the rod laver arena, then turn right, walk for about 60 meters or so and go up the stairs. at the top of the stairs is an entrance to the pharmacy room and next to it is an entrance to the vodafone arena.

when u go thru the vodafone entrance u end up at the top of the stairs looking down on the dance floor of the vodafone arena. So if everyone meets just infront of the pharmacy room entrance, then everyone can move into vodafone and sit and chat and then knowbody will hav far to go to get into vodafone for armin's set.

this spot is easy to get to, and even if the security does tell people to move on, everyone can just move into vodafone and just stay inside there. and from there everyone can get to anywhere in vodafone...just an idea...makes it easier for people who dont know melbourne park very well
