Congratulations to the Winner of the G.O.D/ Earthcore DJ Cometition:
BJ
BJ started DJing about two years ago. After spending most of his time hunting down sought after tracks and unusual mixes, BJ decided his obsession with vinyl should be put to better use and shared with more than just his neighbours.
In 2004 BJ successfully hosted four Bassmentals and two My Mean Scene gigs, showcasing stellar Melbourne talent like Scott Alert, Toast and Brother Pierce. This was a turning point for BJ who got a real taste for DJing to a crowd.
After his massive step up in the world from Bedroom Banger to Loungeroom Superstar courtesy of the Bent Street crew, BJ’s big break came in October 2006 where he won the G.O.D. Earthcore DJ competition.
BJ embodies what it is to be a music freak with DJ’ing not enough to satisfy his Hard Dance Hunger!! With skills in production and turntabilism, BJ’s ever expanding talent led to his first track, Chemical Brother, being picked up by KISS FM.
He is strongly influenced by the UK hard dance scene, particularly by the likes of Steve Hill, Andy Whitby and Technikal, as well as new comers Kim Ayres and Lox. BJ has a massive passion for hard dance and hard house, and closely follows a series of record labels to keep up with what’s hot!
BJ knows how to put on a real show and rock a crowd till they can’t rock no more, with his first gigs proving not only is he an inspiring madman on the decks, but knows how to move on a podium. Years of crate digging experience means you can never predict what BJ might drop! From hard dance to techno and psy trance to fun loving big room tunes and retro.
You can catch BJ spinning every week on his hard dance show “The Harder Generation” on SYN 90.7FM Friday night beats night line up from 10pm till 12pm, which fast becoming a Melbourne institution.
Whether you’re a first time doofer or a seasoned shuffler pro you can guarantee BJ is going to rock you.
Harder Faster Louder!!!
