MEGAMIX-Acid/LSD Newbie Questions

Good point Splatt... I'm really glad I didn't taste LSD until the age of 20. Although I guess some people are more mentally mature than me (whatever that means), I think you have to come to a certain point in life where you're finally figuring out who you are as a person in order to appreciate LSD. In my opinion, there are very few people in high school who have it "figured out" enough to understand LSD.

LSD will force you to change your life, and if you resist these changes you're wasting good acid because that's the whole point. I really don't believe you can change your life sensibly until you have a good idea of "where you're at".

Hope that makes sense. LSD is the last drug I would ever take lightly. Most teenagers aren't comfortable enough with themselves to handle being confronted with their own being as LSD will do.

My advice would be to try some low dose shroom trips first to build up your sense of spirituality and to confront any issues you may have with yourself. Then, when you do take LSD, take it very seriously!

peace

The only way they will know your ass took some L is if they give you a fuckin lie detector test HAHAHAHAHAHHHHHHAAAAAA!!!! Yea anyways, eat the acid with some friends and go fly kites out in the middle of a field, and bring a boombox that can play some old dead shows. I guarentee you will have the time of your life8o

im only about 14 and im about to get my hands on some acid. I can count all the times ive taken any sort of drug on one hand, but acid seems right for me. I have a question thought, should i start with blotter, or an eyedropper? Annnd...is shrooms a good idea as an acid alternative?

depends on what kind of experience you want. Acid is obviously more potent, and has a longer trip duration. Some report that acid is more of a mind-fuck than mushrooms; I can agree with this to a certain extent. Acid will definitely get those gears turning, especially at the 3-4 hour mark.

Many feel a very spiritual connection with high doses of mushrooms, but it can also be a frightening experience.

LSD can also conjure up spiritual feelings, but personally, I find LSD more "mechanical-feeling", if that makes any sense.

Mmmh, I really think that more or less depends on your expectations of the drug. You can expect from shrooms that they might give you a sort of 'spiritual connection' and therefore you describe and recall your trip as a spiritual connection. If you expect your first acid trip to be 'spiritual' and if you try shrooms a little time later than you won't label the shroom-trip spiritual... And next to that LSD in high dosages won't make you feel more mechanical if shrooms can be frightening in high dosages. Acid can be scaring the crap out of you as well. Everything just depends on ones expectations, and the good ol' set and setting ;)

yeah, set and setting is obviously a factor, but so is content of your subconscious. If you are a "spiritual" person, you will more than likely be mystified. Some people don't even pay much attention to metaphysical concepts while going about their daily lives sober; but under the influence of a serious "third eye agonist", that's another story.

I'm 15 and I've done acid plenty of times. I used to take a ten strip and stick it in my coffee. :)

It's not for everyone though, nothing like weed or alcohol. Set & setting are very important, and friends that won't fuck around with you.

Effects of acid?

I hear people saying that an acid trip can do things like leave a door open in your mind, or change the way you think, or "you never fully come down after an acid trip." I'm not sure I really understand what people mean by this. Never done acid, BTW. How do you know you are different after a trip? Does the feeling stay or go away? I may have had profound experiences on nitrous, and may have done salvia, dxm, and a few others a couple times, but after the experience is over I don't feel like a door is open. Is acid unique like this? Can other psychedelics do it? Am I just not looking hard enough for the door? How do you know the door is open, and what does it look like on the other side?

before I started doing acid, I had heard this, and thought it wouldn't happen to me. at first it didn't and I tripped and felt the same afterwards. then more and more i would notice my patterns of thinking were staying altered for longer after each time I tripped. after some time, and a few very intense trips I feel I have changed very much for the better. I can't explain how, it is something you have to find yourself.

It will open the doors of perception and 'some' do not fully close again. You will still be the same person, you just might notice things about life and people during the trip that remain in-tact when sober. In my opinion and experience, they are usually for the better. If you do it in moderation, benefits may be reaped from the experiences, if you desire as such.
I believe mushrooms can it almost as well, maybe equal. I have been a different (more better than worse, by far) person in a way ever since I ate that first mushroom in 10th grade. Acid is probably stronger in this sense, but I always have to give props to my mushies.

I personally don't think it will bring out anything that isn't already somewhere inside you.

When you hit that place (ego-loss if you want to be druggy-nerd about it) on a trip where you're not really you anymore you/not you can very objectively examine yourself and sometimes you don't know what you'll find.

Wow, very sorta philosphical of scientific ol' me.

i agree with what people have been saying here about doors being left open. i've certainly got a different outlook after the few acid trips i've done.
i distinctly remember one time when i was tripping on a car ride to a friend's house ( i was sitting in the back seat duh ) and i had this incredible urge to make faces at other people in other cars. i resisted this urge because i thougth that people would be offended, and that most people are too uptight to just be amused by some wacko in another car making faces at them. as i was thinking this we pass this guy in an older mercedes, he was an older guy, he's got both hands very firmly on the wheel and a very stern face looking straight ahead to the road. and then a thought hit me. people are too tied up with trivial things like that, and are much too serious all the time.
so yeah, your thought patterns shift a lil bit. but i think it was for the better. i'm even less concerned about trivial things and i'm able to relax easier now. however, when things do get heavy, it affects me a lot more now i think.
also, i have permanent tracers. i think it has quite a bit to do with the reduced hours of sleep i've been getting lately, but even when i am rested, its still noticeable.

The effects are very subjective. For some people it can change them permanently for better or worse. It is kinda like having a new sense of awareness that you never had before. Acid can help you notice certain things in your everyday awareness that you never noticed or thought about before. It's certainly worth trying IMO.

I don't know how relevant this is, but once i tripped with a group of friends on a handful of mushrooms, they were, and still are what i would consider my true friends.

Amongst the group there was a girl whom we had know for about six months and got on with well, but whilst we tripped i saw a side to her i didn't like, i couldn't put my finger on it exactly but in the time we tripped i had a deep-rooted almost hatred for her.

I didn't mention it afterwards as i thought it unfair and was probably just because i was spent. A few weeks later she revealed herself as a thieving, back-stabbing, trouble making, arrogant little bitch of a person.

For me, my life was never the same after my first experience with LSD. I had such more profound respect for life, and I found that I could really just enjoy the simple things. I felt that I understood and connected with nature alot more as well. Though I've had VERY profound experiences on the other drugs you've mentioned, none of them have had the effect you described. The only ones that have on me were LSD, LSA, Psilocybin/Psilocin (mushrooms), Mescaline (Peyote), and 2C-i. The ones more likly to do this are Tryptamines, Phenethylamines, and Ergot type alkaloids.

Rik, I get that when I'm sober. I don't think I ever would have hadn't I tried psychedelics. I understand human behavior and can predict it as well.

nimble, I've noticed the same thing there as well. It is really interesting to see that I have experienced the same things as others on here.
