[Mega] Rolling the Movie

cliffs (and spoilers)
- movie may look like a documentary, it really isnt. theres even video of everyone being casted to their parts in the special features.
- no mentions of adulterants, etc, used in pills .. every pill is considered ecstasy to them. i figured itd be educational to some degree, it wasn't.
- at the end, one dude dies from it. all the 'interviewed people' give the impression that basically 'ecstasy kills, watch out'

that is not exactly true spoilers-
NSFW:
earlier in the movie there is a mention of a bad batch of blue pills going around, then later the guy selling good pills gets hassled to trade a blue pill for one of his (who fucking trades pills anyway??) for some reason he eventually takes the trade then at the end he gives away his pills so he can get out of the drug business but still has the one blue pill and deems that his last pill and indeed it was, however in a sense your right in saying there was no real mention of adulterants just that some pills are good and some are bad

all in all this movie was a real dissapointment, it wasn't as bad as it could have been but there is much better movies out there about drugs, I guess this was a independent film after all.

I've heard about this, thanks for sharing.
There is also a very good and informative TV special about MDMA called "Ecstasy Rising" that you can find on youtube.

Have seen it already. Think it's a nice watch, but not super great. The promo before the release kinda made me expect a bit more. But it's entertaining nonetheless...

jam uh weezy, agreed on that docu! That one's great.

It's a horrible movie.
The fake documentary feel is lame, and the characters are pretty weak/superficial.

Everyone always says that "ravers/x-takers/etc/etc" complain that our "scene" is never properly captured by books or films ..... but it's just not.
There's so much between music+mdma+rave atmosphere that gets rolled up into one that to single out just one activity ex: rolling.. it just doesn't do any justice.

I just watched the whole thing on youtube.com

If you go to youtube/
Type in Rolling Movie Part 1
The person that uploaded it is named redemption136

He has all of them as different videos.
Its an amazing movie.
I cried, no lie.

You MUST see it.

yea I tried watching this last night and couldn't even get past the first video. It was pretty bad. It felt fake, and knowing that the people were actors just made it seem like they were trying to sell me the drug when describing it. :\

I was imagining the effect this would have on an E-virgins expectations/xperience with mdma and the word 'hyperreality' kept popping up in my mind.

If anyone who hasn't seen it yet and wants to see a real documentary on ecstasy, this one is good: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjvNCijeYlI

terrible ending. i did, however, really like the way they attempted to recreate the mdma experience by "speeding up" and "light trailing" the camera. almost made me feel like i was coming up ;)

WOW...i cant believe the news had something that wasnt full of scare tactics...this shows why there is no reason for it not to be legal

Very uncomfortable to watch. They are trying to capture every stereotype, cliche, experience in 1 movie and it doesn't work with terrible acting.
"If everyone in the world took a tab at the same time, I'd like to see the world 4 hours later."
Come on! Yeah we've all thought it but hearing that guy say it in the movie took something away from it....
Just my take.

Rolling SUCKED.

Just my opinion. It had a lot of potential but with 2 years of hype it fell FAR short of my expectations. It was a strange re-enactment documentary with actors who had nothing to do with the stories told?

Whack. It made me feel guilty about my infrequent drug use. If anything I think it would be good anti-drug material for young Pre-Teens in middle school.

No wonder they couldn't find funding to get the film distributed all that time. No one cared to finance a bunk as movie.

I watched this with my fiance awhile back. Helped me introduce her to rolling and the whole rave scene, but it just didn't sit well with me. For a movie that was hyped for sometime, it lacks substance and depth. Think I'll show her some other rave related movie before we buy her first roll, cuz rolling was just not that informative

No. I just can't do it. I can't. I watched 4 minutes of it on Youtube and there is no way I'm going to be able to stand that mix of mockumentary style with shit acting and horrible dialogue. Sorry Rolling, the after-sex scene (where the guy's talking about bicycle baskets) is awesome but every other second of it is torture.
