I really wanted this movie to be good, I also believe the creators wanted it to be good.

However this movie fails so hard on so many levels i'm having trouble knowing where to begin.

It is not a good depiction of ecstasy for someone who hasnt tried it, and it is not accurate for someone who has.

Go ahead and support it if you want, your'e better off spending your money on it then most of the crap released these days. However of you thought this was going to be a good description of MDMA and MDMA culture you will be dissapointed.

I just watched the movie myself. Whilst I didn't really enjoy it I think you are being overly critical of the movies portrayal of ecstasy and the culture of ecstasy. It answers important questions as to why people do ecstasy, what the experience is like, and the potential problems you can have. It did a pretty good job of answering these questions. However, the actual movie was not entertaining for me. The school teacher was hot so that kinda made up for it. But the music in the movie sucked is that what you Americans listen to at raves?

Just got a chance to watch it and IMO it's not that bad as some make it out to be. It's meant to be an entertaining movie, not some medical journal. Watch it for what it is and you'll most likely enjoy it.

On a side note, I wonder how many of the actors were acting based on their personal experience of the drug? Hmm..

I agree. Was worth the whatch. Not that entertaining, but it certainly also gave me some e-vibes now and then.

The rolling movie sucked ! It was halfway between Groove and a fake documentary about Ecstasy. WHACK AS F$%# !

Rolling movie was alright....wish it was an actual documentary though....I still think Human Traffic is the best rolling movie.

Rolling Movie

a short synopsis
Drawing upon a variety of documentary filmmaking techniques, Rolling breaks new ground by creating a unique faux documentary. Utilizing the form of a docudrama, cinema verite style footage entwines with personal testimonials rendering a fictional chronicle, which captures the appeal of the drug Ecstasy. The film follows a diverse group of users as they cross paths in Los Angeles. At its core, Rolling is an investigation into a generation's drug of choice. It is a dramatized expose of the current state of a cultural phenomenon that has grown tremendously over the past two decades. Rolling simultaneously authenticates a specifically twisted consciousness while relating to a broad audience with an eye for detail and human behavior. The film uses a variety of formats (35mm, super 16mm and DV) giving it an unusual texture while maintaining an overall gritty and realistic tone. In doing so, the filmmakers have carefully constructed a new style that hopes to stimulate discussion while regaling the senses. It provides the viewer direct access to the roller coaster of incidents that often occur to an Ecstasy user. Rolling is an engrossing, provocative, and poignant cinematic manifestation of the journey one has while on the drug. It is a bold and visceral experience that brings to light one of the most prolific drug phenomena of our time.

ughhhh

this movie was at hollywood video. i had HIGH expectations and thought they'd be met with ease, based on the trailer alone. i rented it and was thoroughly disappointed. the movie went downhill fast. started off pretty good, had my attention, but i was face-palming myself about 1/3 of the way though. maybe its just me. check this out, lol

cliffs (and spoilers)
- movie may look like a documentary, it really isnt. theres even video of everyone being casted to their parts in the special features.
- no mentions of adulterants, etc, used in pills .. every pill is considered ecstasy to them. i figured itd be educational to some degree, it wasn't.
- at the end, one dude dies from it. all the 'interviewed people' give the impression that basically 'ecstasy kills, watch out'
