Mega Merged WD Thread

For Withdrawal from Heroin I get prescribed Suboxone (buphenorphine). Works like magic to take WD's away. The only problem is that I can do H and not worry about withdrawling hense doing more heroin because I know I can just put a pill in a mouth.

^ bupe does do wonders...and i am on it at the moment. However...it is a partial opiod agonist, and is not 'truely' w/d assitence. It literally takes away all physical symptoms. Anyways...the lists made by our fellow bluelighters are quite good. They take care of all of the symptoms without actually using an opiate. Clonidine and a long acting benzo are key.

from what i've heard, bupe is where it's at. i have 3 different friends who have successfully stayed away from opiates because of it. 2 of them have come off of bupe and since relapsed, so good luck with escaping for good.

Need help! THrown into withdrawal by Buprenorphine

I thought you could take bupe 24 hours after methadone. Well i took it about 30 hours after my last dose of methadone, and its throwing me into violent withdrawal. Is there anything i can do?

no, dont bother with taking more methadon or bupre it will not help you at all. For me the withdrawls lasted 2 days, tell me how it works for you...

seriously? i cant take any more bupe? this is gonna last 2 days???? Hasn't this happened to anyone else. what should i do...and what went wrong. :(

It hasnt happened to me, but it has happened to a friend, no matter how much dope he shot or if he took bupe he still stayed sick. Very sick according to him.

Time time time thats it

are you taking suboxone or just straight nupe?

suboxone has 2mg narcan in it, which throws you into w/d :/

The half-life of methadone is generally 24-48 hours so you should have waited longer. If you would have given yourself a two day break you wouldn't be in this situation. Your going to have to tough out the withdrawals for at least 2 days and then you can use opioids again without the fear of going into w/ds

some people...

Did you just come up with this in your head, cause you couldn't of read this in any from any reputible source. The only purpose for the naloxone is to prevent injections of the pills.

I've taken bupe 12hrs after dope with no problems, as for the posters question the answer is time, just deal with.

Benzos are about the only thing which is going to help you...

Jungboho is wrong about the naloxone having ANY effect whatsoever...

I'm sorry that happened to you, the generally accepted medical advice (as seen in the physicians handbook at http://buprenorphine.samhsa.gov ) is to wait 48 hours after the last methadone dose before administering buprenorphine.

I've read about cases of being thrown into withdrawal from switching from HEROIN to bupe being fixed by MORE BUPE... but I've read that this will not work for methadone.

Good luck! Stay safe... no opiates are going to help you until at least 48 hours... then maybe try more bupe? In the mean time read that physicians guide to bupe on that site... it is THE official info the physicians use.

To let everyone know, yall were correct. 48 hours of pure hell...until buprenorphine started to work slightly. Being shot into methadone withdrawal is dangerous. I've been through cold turkey opiate and benzo withdrawal many many times...but nothing compares to this hellish experience. I hope this does not happen to anyone else trying to switch from methadone to bupe. I should have consulted my doctor before doing such a thing. Anyways...thanks for the posts..and be safe everyone 8(

klonopin for smack WDs

Does klonopin help with smack WD? im a light user, about 1 bag a day of smack and i have tons of klons here. i experience slight wd like achy back, nose, and hot cold flashes. let me know
thanks

It will help ease some of your aliments, but its not treating them, just making them more managable. Definitly save some for when you want to sleep.

How long were you using that your experiencing wd from one bag a day? Probably not too long as it was still getting you high. Perhaps some of this is in your head?

Yeah it should help. Try to get through the day just by keeping yourself busy. Try to save as much klonopin for the night time as possible.

shakes from 1 bag...

You would have to be using 1 bag for an awful long time to have physical symptoms and even then You should just be uncomfortable [although it depends on the size of the bag, right?].

Klonopin will not alleviate your symptoms because it is not a narcotic. It will,as LeadSinger said, make them more manageable.

A help

Best kept for trying to get sleep, but you're going to need a lot to be able to sleep UNLESS you can get something like codeine to take with them. Even 40-50mg (of codeine) at night will go a long way towards helping, especially during the 1st 96 hours. Then, the benzos should easily be enough

I've never done smack because of the inferior produect available in my area, but k-pins did certainly did help through my oc withdrawl a couple years ago, obviously didnt cure it, but klonopin made it much more bearable....but unfortunately now im addicted to klonopin, so be careful with the benzos.

The only thing I'd do is use the Klonopin to help me sleep the first few nights of WD. From the way it sounds, your wd is very minor any you might not even need much of the klonopin. Be careful and please don't accidentally substitute a benzo addiction for an opiate addiction like in the above post.
