Probably because we all have different tastes?


I can drink the tea...it sucks, and I wish their was another ROA, but I can still drink it. But the texture of the ground powder makes me instantly gag. Some people simply can't stomach things that others cant.
 
I made some poppy tea tonight usingpods and my regular dose yada yada. I fell asleep though from taking a xanax for a good while and i dont remember when i finally took it out of my french press, but im guessing around 2 hours. is it still good? or weaker? or pretty much the same?

im gonna drink it anyway but i still feel all fucked from the xanax and drinking lots of tea makes me feel like im gonna barf. just wondering if anyone would be able to tell me if my tea is alright or bad or what.

In the interest of harm reduction, I strongly advise against mixing benzos and poppy pod tea. A recent pod tea death in Colorado occurred after a student mixed PPT and anti-anxiety drugs.
 
Sounds like me one year ago. My advice? Quit while you still can. Realistically, you might end up what I've been doing and riding a rollercoaster up and down for a year (or maybe you've already been doing that , I dunno how long you've been using).

The withdrawals from these fuckers seems to be very long lasting and moderately uncomfortable. I quit for 2 weeks one time and I still felt like I had no endorphins left.

I've been riding that coaster for awhile now. I used to get high for 2 weeks then stop for a week, get high 2 stop for 5 days get high 3 stop for a week etc. i've been going constant for some time though and know its gonna hurt a lot :( .

and to the people warning me about benzo and tea use...I wasn't planning on drinking the tea with the xanax, I was just making it so I had it later. When i finally did drink it about 7 hours had passed since I took the xanax. I am well aware of the dangers of mixing downers and typically dont do it. hell I never do benzos (but have done them plenty of times) and only did it cause my boss gave me it.

I do appreciate the warnings though ;)

Glad you know about the dangers: hopefully others reading this will also get the message. There's a perception in some quarters that because poppy pod tea is "natural" and "comes from plants" it's not a real drug. Hence, there's no reason to exercise caution when using it. As DJSim is fond of reminding people, this line of thought fails to account for datura, strychnine and oleander -- but it seems to be a persistent misconception.
 
I drank my first PPT yesterday and was very suprised at the strenght of the resulting high.
I've read that people say the buzz is like taking a 10 vicodin. Well I really do not get high off one vicodin due to my tolerance and I was very high off the PPT. It took several hours for the buzz to really kick in and I would say the high lasted 2 1/2 hours. I know pod strength can vary. I used three medium sized pods.

I found some dried pods at an organic greenhouse that also has a craft store.

Ground the pods to a powder. Mix it with OJ or grapefruit juice. Drink it down. YOU CAN'T EVEN TASTE IT WHEN IT IS MIXED THIS WAY. I don't get why there is so much discussion or why people think this tastes do bad. DO YOU NOT LIKE OJ???? It tastes just like pulply OJ. THAT'S IT. NO BIG DEAL

Even the tea when made correctly isn't bad. I don't know what the hell everyone is dong that it tastes so bad. Come on now, really.....

I totally agree. It just seems many people can't stand the taste or texture of pods, even if you or me can't really tell much difference between soft poppy grounds or fruit pulp when enough cold, bitter juice is used to mix the ground with.

I've also eaten pods straight out of field and they taste fine fresh IMO. Dried poppies taste worse, but I've eaten them like apples a few times too. Poppies are quite mild and actually very palateable to me. There's lots of worse tastes in this world and there's also psychological conditioning helping me to get them down. I've come to associate the taste with opiate effects and getting high soon. Pretty much like dissolving Xanax under your tongue.

My problem seems to be the texture of the pod powder. I gag on the last swig of poppy tea when that muddy crap is on the bottom.

Knowing that you are going to get high is a really good incentive to drink the tea, but then there are times where I'm in withdrawal and the taste grosses me out even more. I dunno, I've drank the tea probably well over 100 times and have only thrown up once or twice from the taste.
 
i have heard conflicting information on the internet as to the efficacy of using stems and leaves from poppy plants to produce anything usable. I am not exactly looking to make tea out of the stems or leaves <--(if it is possible) i would rather soak it in high proof alcohol for tincture or laudenum or whatever. I was wondering if anyone had any knowledge of whether or not the stems and leaves have any alkaloids, small amount of alkaloids or hopefully an equal proportion alkaloids? I mean the leaves have the blue tinge that the pods do and i doubt poppies are like mushrooms in the sense that blueing means alkaloids but i have heard both sides that the do and do not possess morphine but if anyone could put the issue to rest for me it would be greatly appreciated

Stems work OK. You need quite a bit of them. At least 3-4 times more by weight than pods, but you can make working tea out of them. I've never tried the leaves.

First 5 inches of stem below the pod should have at least 50% as much alkaloids by weight than the pods.

I dunno, people always said that PPT put a number on your system, but it basically shuts it down. You are taking food in, but there is just no movement to it anymore. Pretty nasty in that respect.

Oh god yes, I remember back in the beginning especially I would binge a lot and would suddenly realize I'd been eating more than I ever have and shitting nothing and it had been 4 days.

I remember several times stopping the tea just so I could get a little sick and void my bowels, lol. The only good way of combating this is to avoid using for days on end, that only makes it worse.
 
It surprises me how little tolerance seems to budge w/ poppy tea, either up or down. Even after constant abuse, 10 pods is my standard dosage (and hasnt changed since probably my first month of addiction).

I took 5 days off and I'm still very comfortable with the same dosage that I've been using(although the rewarding effects are much more prominent :)). I remember quitting for 2 weeks and still upon returning my tolerance was as solid as ever. Anyone else have similar experience??

My 2 cents on Pods...

First time on PPT stomach hurt like cramps.

Make Tea then evaporate it at the lowest temp u can stand(225F worked good), you get smokeable. Tried this 22, no 2 times. Use the widest pyrex pan u can get(most surface area). Dont make it too deep or it will take forever. Try to get it to where no more liquid rolls around the pan, then you scrape the thin layer up into a gooey ball. Dryer is better b/c its less messy. You can get either powder or goo depending how far u take the evap process. Probably best to make powder and put in a doobie, but it takes a lot to get high so keep that in mind(doubt u could OD on smoking this(evapped tea, not real opium) stuff so hit it like a champ till your good, then stop!). If you make tiny gooey balls, dont put too many in a doob or it wont stay lit! [Feels fuckin great, makes it like your buggin inside your head, funny unique thoughts, but no body load; light, airy fun high!]

Tried the french press method, not too bad. Put 1 or 2 coffee filters under the screen and you wont get any sludge but be careful not to break the french press.

After FOAFS press busted, he started running the ground pods through the coffee maker and that works good. Run through a couple times for max extraction. Find a way to squeeze the filter w/o burning yerself!

Great way to enjoy it without the shitty dirt taste is to make a super strong batch of tea, then dilute in water and make a pitcher of iced tea. Drink over the course of a day (slam as much at the first cup as possible to get going) and youll be mellow. Someone I know is near the bottom of his second cup and feels pretty good.

PST sucks, a guy thought that seeds from other projects should be coated in goodness but it really was negligable. 2 fingers of seeds in a baggie barely turned the water weak yellow, so it would take a shitload to get going, but then youll have a fuckhard time figuring out where the upper limit is. If ya gotta do it, do it but pace yourself because this shit CAN KILL YOU.

Make sure you are aware of the strength of your pods, there is no consistancy or rating system. This shit CAN KILL YOU. Have fun kiddies!

I think that would only work well for someone w/ a low tolerance, or someone who is absolutely appauled by the taste.

I do recall the very first time I made tea my stomach felt a bit off too, only happened the first time though actually.

I agree. I've been using 1/2 cup of ground up pods for as long as I can remember. If I want to get really high, ill throw in another 1/4 cup and be wasted. anything less than 1/2 cup and I dont really get as high as normal.

its weird how it htis too. 1/2 cup will have me feeling good throughout the day (depending when I dose) and come 9 or 10 at night when I smoke some weed and just lay on the couch I will nod out. this lasts till I go to sleep.

over 1/2 and ill start to nod earlier. only a couple hours have to pass and i'll be wasted, with or without smokin weed. this usually lasts till the next morning. I wake up with a very strong buzz, and in the case of today was still dippin out well into the afternoon.

less than 1/2 a cup and i'll be maintained. i'll feel relaxed but not have near as good a buzz as normal. I wont dip out at night on the couch like normal, but i'll probably get to sleep a little easier than if I didn't use pods. obviously.

For some reason I can build up a huge tolerance to pods or opiates in general (which I find kind of embarassing for some reason) and need as much as 280g pod straw to get any effect but not actually be dependent and suffer from WD symptoms when I abstain for any length of time. Is this unusual?

By the way I know for a fact that the pods I get are decent and not extremely weak, as this has been confirmed by several experienced opiates users or addicts.

I made a basic brew of with 10 mediums using a little calcium carbonate. Man it's a lot stronger than I realized wow!!!
