the actual pods aren't illegal, since they are commonly used for decorative purposes. it is illegal to have the powder though, since then it is obviously intended for consumption.
 
No, I believe all parts of the opium poppy, except the seeds, are illegal

They just aren't policed when they're being distrubuted as ornamentals

On the outside? I've never seen a pod with mold on the outside, if you see black spots and "bruises" on the outside of the pod thats just where it was damaged while still green and bled some opium thats fine.
 
Papaver Somniferum aka the opium poppy is DEA #9650 and is schedule II. Poppy Straw is also listed as schedule II and also uses #9650. Poppy Straw concentrate is #9670. This is the list of scheduled drugs in the US in its entirety.

So... without a prescription in the US, possessing poppy pods or poppy straw is illegal. Buying poppy pods is illegal even if legitimately for decorative purposes, it simply isn't enforced so it is largely de facto legal.
 
It is a little blurry but it looks like ordinary black spots. As long as they're not all furry it should be just fine.

I've personally yet to encounter a pod with external mold on it, the problem has always been when the inside of the pod walls are coated with black fuzzy shit. And that smell, ugh... the smell of moldy poppies after they're cracked is pretty disgusting too me.

OK, I'm new to pod tea.
When making it, how much water should I use? Do I have to keep it on a rolling boil on the cook top or can I just put it in water after it boiled like you do regular tea?
Any other tips?

Number one thing is to grind the pods very well, electric coffee bean grinder go get one. After that the water temp doesn't really matter, no need to boil. If you can stomach it just consume the pod powder.

I would take a spoonful of the powder mix it into a mug of hot water and just chug the whole thing after letting it steep for awhile.
 
I'm not eating the plant matter, period. I know I can't stomach it. I can't even eat Tramadol without throwing my guts up. I felt nasuous just drinking the tea by iteself. I put my pods through the blender, not fine fine, but I'm not investing in special equipment here. Gotta keep it all on the DL anyway.
 
just remember to be careful with dosing (and redosing) on new pods as well, guys. potency can vary greatly from batch to batch.

for arguments sake one batch may take one spoonful of grinded up matter, another batch may only need to be half or a quarter of that amount to be equipotent.
 
How long is the high supposed to last anyway. Like 5 hours later I still didn't feel "normal"
 
from what i've gathered the high can last anywhere between 6-8 hours, not sure how long until you'll be back at home base. that's going to differ from batch to batch of course.

The first time I experimented with poppy tea, I drank it three days in a row. The morning of day 4 I arose to go to work, only to discover I was still feeling the effects. Thankfully it was a very slow day at the office: I spent much of the day in the bathroom vomiting, with periodic breaks of nodding out at my desk.

Poppy tea has an incredibly long hang time: one dose will last me a good eight hours and multiple days of dosing can have me feeling it for 36 hours after the last cup.
 
Poppy Seeds from Poppy Pods

Okay.. I'm gonna try to make poppy seed tea tonight/tomorrow.. but I'm using seeds leftover from my pods. I have about 2 pounds of seeds total.

I have a recipe and all, problem is, everyone is talking about seeds bought in bulk or from grocery stores. One thread I found (not here) even said seeds from pods are totally worthless.

So what's the deal? Are the seeds from pods worthless, or am I gonna get some good results?
 
Yes the tea is very long lasting, someone who is dependent can dose once a day and not even feel a hint of sickness sometimes.

Consecutive days of redosing will have it lasting a lot longer too.
 
My understanding is that they are worthless. Storebought seeds have been harvested from the pod while they were still alive and get coated with opium in the process of removing the seeds (drilling a hole in the pod causes opium to drip onto the seeds while they are being removed). They wash the seeds sometimes but even still some morphine content remains afterwards.

Apparently seeds that have been left in the dried pods don't end up with much morphine on them because the latex doesn't really get on the seeds unless the poppy was damaged and then leaked opium.
