[Mega] "I lost the magic!" megathread

the point is that I used think that no matter what the ammout of MDMA you get into your body total, the first dose is the one setting how hard you are going to roll

this my experience and one of the reasons i never re-dose. can anyone add confirmation to this?

I started with 120-140 mg mdma (my scale isnt the best, so I guess 10-20 mg will be off) along with 120 mg 4-fa

don't know anything about 4-fa, maybe it interferes? 120-140 seems kind of low if you are experienced. if you did 200 right off the bat and didn't roll something is wrong. also you could try piracetum loading a few days prior and the day of, i've read on here about people "regaining the magic" as a result

If you are experienced with rolling, 120-140 seems like a small-ish dose. Just try bumping up the dose like you said next time.

yeah I dont think you lost the magic, just havent been in the right situation so to speak. i heard if you lost the magic, physically, then your supposed to wait six months to a year or more. then try taking it :)

Question about losing the magic

Well my thread yesterday gave me the impression that I've lost the magic, however I've talked to people that have lost the magic and they say when they do pills they just feel like shit, and it doesn't do anything for them other than make them anxious and pissed off that they're not high enough.

But this isn't really the case for me... When I do it, I get anxious, yes, but I also get empathetic. The only thing my high is lacking, is the body high.

Now another thing I've noticed, is that all of the pills I used to be doing either had caffeine, ketamine, or amphetamines in them. When I did those, I got an AMAZING body high, nothing could beat it. I want that feeling that I'm as light as a feather, I can walk 100 miles a minute, and I can talk 100 words a minute.

Now I've realized that all of the pills I'm doing now are PURE mdma. I guess pure mdma doesn't give me a body high or something?

Okay but back on the topic about losing the magic. People that have lost the magic always say that the comedowns are really bad. Well when I do Ecstasy, I don't really come down. I get to a certain high, that isn't like I'm peaking, I'm just having fun and slightly enjoying it. I'm like that the entire night, until I go to sleep. The comedown is perfectly fine, and it's actually really relaxing. Also, when I wake up in the morning, I feel perfect. Most people complain of sore backs, or headaches, or just a 'cracked-out' feeling. I don't get any of that. These are all reasons why I don't think I'm losing the magic...

But, when I do Ecstasy, I don't want the feeling that I'm getting from it now, I want the feeling I described earlier. The one about the pills with the speed & caffeine in them.

So my question is, do you think I'm losing the magic described by the way I explain my Ecstasy high? Do you think it's just the pure fact that I don't really like MDMA? (Mind you, I've only done about... 5 pills with just MDMA in them, and about 35 other pills that either had caffeine or speed in them)

And what can I do to get the feeling I like, if I have a pill with just MDMA in it? I've always wanted to try drinking a 5-hour energy shot with it, but I keep forgetting to. Can someone explain that feeling to me? Thanks.

Now I've realized that all of the pills I'm doing now are PURE mdma. I guess pure mdma doesn't give me a body high or something?

you cant have a pill with PURE mdma in it, if its in pill form, its gonna be cut with something.
how are you even sure that theres mdma in your pills?
are you testing them?
whens the last time you rolled?
are you doing any drugs other than ecstasy?

IMO you should wait 60 days minimum between rolls. and if your doing drugs like amphetamines, thats gonna have an impact on your rolls. (amphetamines downregulate 5ht receptors)

it sounds like your just getting weak pills to be honest. and if i remember correctly ive seen posts of yours where you talk about all these crazy binges you go on.

i think the best thing for you to do is to take a nice long amphetamine-free break. and preload with piracetam next time you roll.

best of luck:) hope this helps too hahaha

I can't tell if I have lost the magic. I have done e numberous times in the past 10 years, and I think there is a combination of pills not being as good as they used to be and also that the experience is just not the same because I have become so used to it. I still do feel great when on E so some of the magic is still there.

My own experience:

About a year ago I had abused pure MDMA. Every other day I would roll until finally I was unable to roll at all anymore. Anytime I would attempt to I would just become sleepy and lethargic. Even drugs like coke wouldn't have a very noticeable effect on me ( I know coke is all about dopamine and mdma is all about seritonin but I believe I had fk'd my brain up enough to negatively effect both. ). I've tried pure abstinence, different diets and many other natural remedies to bring back my magic and they all had failed.

Then one day I decided to start taking St Johns Wort. I take about 900mg a day ( I am 155lbs male ) in the morning along with my multi vitamin. After a week of doing this I decided to eat a little bit of molly and hoo-rah wouldnt you know it I FELT SOMETHING. Though it wasn't very strong or intense, the fact that it was atleast something had me ecstatic. The next day I did not take anything other than my multi-vitamin, and I was able to roll balls again...

successsssssssssssssssssssss

Anyways, that was my personal story. For a while I would only be able to get a buzz off of fake molly like the methylmethylcatinone family stuffz.

The St Johns Wort also did a pretty decent job at re-leveling my brain in general. After a couple days of taking it everything seemed much more lively in my everyday experiences. I had much more emotion ( up and down ) than what I have been accustomed to lately.

tldr = I tried not taking mdma for over 6 months to see if my magic would come back. It didn't. I tried St Johns Wort for a week, had a very noticeable results!

Peace and Love

Interesting. I've had some success with Saint John's Wort, but at much higher doses and with a completely different approach. Could you provide more detail about how you were able to get your magic back?

Did you take Saint John's for one week, and on the last day of that week take Saint John's Wort AND MDMA together (on the same day?)

Then, when you had success, was that the very next day -- not taking Saint John's Wort?

Also, what multi-vitamin are you taking? :)

There is some concern that taking Saint John's Wort with MDMA could be dangerous because, possibly, it's thought that Saint John's has MAOI activity.

I have had some difficulty recapturing the "magic" of my college rolling days...it now takes me 5 pills to even approximate a hard roll when I used to take a mere 2, and I never get shaky vision which always used to be the ultimate sign for me that I was rolling balls...I plan to try Piracetam, see if that works for me, but I know I need to find REAL MDMA before I can try to roll again. That will be hard with all the pipes around here...*sigh* I guess it will just give my brain more time to build up serotonin.

loss of novelty != loss of magic

MDMA is a lot like a dating and relationships.

The first time you do it the experience is a lot like meeting someone new and going on an awesome first date where everything is just perfect. You have the novelty of something new, the excitement and euphoria of something different than what you're used to.

If you wait a long enough time between dosages then it is like meeting someone new for the first time again.

If you use more frequently it becomes more like a long-term relationship, and it evolves into a different experience. It's more like being in love with someone and having a great relationship with them. It changes your personality, you become more relaxed and calmer and look at things from a different perspective. You become more comfortable and the excitement is replaced by a feeling of peace.

And like a long term relationship you'll sometimes have more difficult experiences than purely "fun" experiences, but these help you grow and make you stronger and a better person.

So I get what people are saying about wanting to space out trips for long times, but I don't think mdma loses its magic so much as it becomes more introspective and more spiritual and more willing to explore the darker realms of your consciousness rather than just being pure euphoria and "fun".

I absolutely love mdma, and I feel like it has never lost its magic, and probably never will. But it has lost its novelty, and while I do enjoy novelty, there are certain things that never get old, like your favorite music album that you listen to 100's of times and still get something special out of it.

Is novelty important? Yes, but it is not the end-all be-all.

Anything that brings you a lot of happiness or euphoria can develop a sense of familiarity and loss of novelty after frequency of experience; there isn't something particular about mdma that makes it "lose magic".

I guess my point is, don't fear the "loss of magic" ... novelty is but one form of "magic". The loss of novelty with mdma is not any different than the loss of novelty of moving from a great couple of first dates into a long-term relationship, or the loss of novelty of listening to a really great album for the first few times and then adding it to your collection. Frequent use of mdma is a lot like having a season pass to a venue, you still have fun going to the events, but it will probably be less novel than it would be for someone that's never been before or who only goes occasionally.

I was making an observation about the subjectiveness of this thing that people call "novelty". Now that it's been merged with a megathread the point I was making will probably get lost in the clutter.

Well the reason it's not allowed to be its own thread is because it doesn't generate much discussion. You're better off positing that kind of stuff in your blog.

There was only one time I lost the magic, but the pill was mdxx low-med.. And the setting became rather uncomfortable, unexpectedly.. Long breaks, preloading, and a healthy lifestyle should ensure the magic stays :)
