[MEGA] Healthier "alternative"/homemade smoking devices

the heating element is super simple, just a cupple a bits from the hardware store and a 6v lantern bat. the wires stick out from two of the three holes on the end. The concept is simple and is about 6th grade level physics. when a current passes trhough a conductor with a givin level of ressestance, the energy that gets 'ressisted' gets converted into head and light... dont give it too much power and make sure you use a good metal that wont oxidize to fast
 
Thanks for the help, Zerja, but English is not my first language so I'm not too sure what you mean by "bits". Do you mean you short circuit the battery through a metal?
 
basicly yeah, its a about as simple a circut as possible so i guess you could call it short, the resistance of the elemet is the key. The 'bits' from the hardware store, were some wire (with low res.) and a push button switch, the wire that i used for the heating element came from a canibilized soldering iron or something, but its basicly a small coil of nickchrome(sp) i wire (i think thats what its called) i not sure what gauge maby 16 or 18 hooked up to a battery. I just guessed at how many turns to make it, but its about a half inch long and i used a peice of stainless steel welding rod that was 1/8th inch dia. as the form that was then removed from the coil. the coil was put into the glass tube with the ends sticking out of two of the holes. I have been fooling around with electronics ever since i was a wee lad so this project was basicly a late night hack when my lighter ran out of fuel. But it worked so much better, that i just kept useing it, i have no idea how long the element will last but i bet it will burn out sooner or later.

Okay, so I just bought a dime and I wasted all my money... So here's a poll type of topic to help me make a decision. Just use your imagination:

You just got yourself a bag of cannabis (worth around $10) But you have no cigar, no paper, no bong and no money to buy any of these things. It's 12:00 at night and you have nothing. Yet you want to smoke it right now! What would you personally do in this situation?

A- Make a vaporizer with a lightbulb
B- Make a pipe out of a soda can
C- Rip a page out of a bible and smoke it
D- Something else. (explain )


And what other crazy inventions have you made when you're desperate to smoke?
 
I would use the apple too, except make sure to wash it really well in case you're allergic to the pesticides on the skin. It tends to make my lips swell up, it sucks.
 
lol, do you guys enjoy smoking out of an apple? Sadly I don't have one, but now that you mentioned it I'm saving me some bud so I can try it.

Anyway, I finally decided what I'm going to do with some of my chronic.
I have two small pointy lightbulbs, I'm making a vaporizer out of one of them (the other is backup) with a very long straw (probably two long ones taped together) so I don't inhale hot vapor and fuck up my throat. I'll be saving the rest of the weed for some more inventions later tonight.

Wee, time to toke.
 
I'd make a bong..
But if worse comes to worse, take the tin off the cigartte paper dealy...DO it as best you can without ripping it...Then roll it, and just lick it alot, not SOAK, but a fair amount. Smoke tha shit.
 
Only did it twice and not exactly the best method but I would grab 2 things.

A Pen
Tin Foil

Roll the pen in tin foil. Take the pen out. Bend one of the ends and spread open the end to make a bowl. Pack, smoke. When cashed, crumble up and throw it away. No evidence.
 
I ended up making the vaporizer yesterday and the lightbulb was pretty frail so by the time I was done I had accidently the bulb directly on the flame so much that the tip was black and it fell right off with a bunch of dried bud inside it. I really wanted to use it again since it came out so nice and I was ripped with a little bit of weed so I saved the straws and bottle cap.

I bought a Dutch Master today, but I'm still making a bottle bong since I've been feeling like hearing that water sizzle while I smoke. Nothing better than having fun before you smoke with your girl.
 
anybody have the link to the website that shows you how to make a pipe out of a card and the metal part of a pencil that holds the eraser
