Yeah, be careful not to increase the concentration of dissolved solids too much though.

Wolfgang, yes you can make a solution yourself for less.

A popular clearing solution in North America is Clearex. This is the rear label of the product.

As you can see the ingredients are 3.0% Glucose, 1.5% sucrose and 95.5% inert ingredients (water and preservatives)

The equivilent homemade recipe is: for 2 litres of super-concentrate (double strength of regular clearex)

120 grams of Dextrose (available at wine making stores. simply is corn sugar)
60 grams of Sucrose (regular white table sugar)
1.5 grams sodium benzoate (Optional as a preservative)

top off container to the 2L mark and shake to disolve.

use 15 ml per gallon of water

You really do not need the sodium benzoate if you keep the mixture in the freezer till needed. Remember sugar water grows bacteria super fast so you either freeze the product till needed or use the preservative.

Should cost you almost nothing to make -BB

Hope that helps

Making a super-strong syrup and diluting it as needed should also deal with the bacterial growth problem, and take up less space. tbh, I'd probably just mix the dry powders in the correct ratio and make a little up with water each time it was needed.

^ no problem mate. Hope it works out for you (let us know if it works!).

Here's the seeds ready to put in the Root Riots (also shown in one of the pics).

I'm going to be ordering the Mr Nice Shit as well. You get 18 regular seeds for such a small amount (a fraction of the cost of other seeds) and from what I've heard, it's a really good strain when grown outdoors guerrilla-style or in greenhouses.

Saturday once I've done the finishing touches I'll be transferring all the seedlings/germinating seeds into the GH to save on leccy.

As you can see, I've got all my veggie seedlings going in the tent, which is jam packed at the moment! The extra space in the GH is much needed.

Hopefully my Paradise Ice Cream should arrive in about a day or so. Here's what it should look like. I can't wait to see how it turns out in a greenhouse!

^ Wow, that Paradise Ice Cream looks intense :D

Guys, What does it mean when some of my leaves are lighter than the others and drooping abit?

Thank guys. I can't wait to grow all these plants!

I just hope that the Ice cream is suited to the south-east UK climate and that I won't have issues with severe mold etc. If this is an issue at least the couple in the greenhouse will do well, touch wood.

Thanks wise :)

I've realised just how shit oil filled radiators are compared to fan heaters (well they both have advantages and disadvantages, but the fan heater is so much better at achieving a uniform temperature throughout the tent). Fan heaters are theoretically more dangerous, but I've got a 'splash-proof' model and am careful not to get water on it (you can direct them at the intake outside your grow area if you're paranoid).

So I'll have to make the switch back. I'll be trasferring everything to the greenhouse tomorrow in theory though, so I may or may not need it there.

I got my Paradise Ice Cream seeds today (5 fems) - see the photo. The freebie seeds I got were Dinafem Blue Widow and Dinafem Blue Hash (also in the photo).

I've just been trying out the '5-1-1 mix' I found about on a normal gardening forum (non-cannabis), designed by someone who actually has a proper understanding of soil science and how the different parts behave and interact, and I have to say, it's far better than any commercial mix (both gardening store and grow shop) I've tried so far! And I've tried a lot of brands - Biobizz, Plagron, Plant Magic, Canna. From what I can tell it even seems to be outperforming straight coir (hydro), which is obviously due to the superior drainage and aeration properties.

Since all you need to make the 5-1-1 mix is bark, perlite and peat moss, with a bit of dolomite lime, it's worth trying. I'm going to try and convert as many people to it as possible. I think the best way is to show proof, so what I plan to do is do a side-by-side grow using clones to compare it against various commercial media. The results should be obvious.

Ok, I think I'm coming to the end of my grow..But not entirely sure if i am and what to do if my ladies are ready to harvest.

Here are some pictures of the buds, plus a few pictures of some dying leaves that i ripped off. Ive also taken a photo of the dying leaves while still on the plant. Any idea's on what could be causing this would also be awesome.

Any pointer's on what do if I am ready to harvest would be greatly appreciated.

Looking good there Josh, not long now mate :)

The yellowing is completely normal. Plants will yellow as it gets closer to finishing. All it is, is the sugars and energy from the leaves are being directed into the buds for final growth :)

I rekon you have 1-2 weeks to go untill there ready Josh. Probs worth flushing each girl and sticking to straight water untill you do harvest.

BTW might be worth trying to scope the trichome's out with your macro and zoom setting on when you take some pics of the buds:) I find taking photo's of the bud leaves themselves gives you a better idea of how there looking as the trich's will grow outward of the edge of the leaves.

You regular posters here are absolutely amazing growers and so insanely knowledgeable. We're lucky to have the few of you that we do, I hope my gorilla grow goes well, it's almost time to scatter seeds in some common area woods... Just not sure if I want to bother with chicken wire around some or not.

Hey Chainer, thanks for the good vibes mate :)

Would love to hear more about your upcoming guerilla grow. What kind of strains are you going for? If the area your growing in has deer around you'll definatly needt to throw up some secure fencing.

Me, an amazing grower? Haha no way! My current girls were just a fluke imo. Make sure to keep us updated with your gorilla grow Chainer :)

Well after a good chat with Wise420, Ive decided to give my girls one more week until i give them the chop. Tempting to do it now, but i can hold off :)

Big thanks to everyone, specifically Wise420, junkie skumbag, Artificial Emotion for all the support and information. You guys are geniuses.

Cheers Joshe. Glad I could help out. Cant wait to see some harvest shots and a final smoke report on them :)

Bit of sad news from the past week, I had to rip my girl up out of the ground as someone found the plot she was in and released all the ties and threw them back over the plant. :X

No animal or winds could have done this as one particular weight had rocks wrapped inside it that only a human could pick up.

I transplanted(ripped her straight out of the ground with my bare hands) then put her into garbage bags then mover her away. :o

So far after 4 days since the transplant she's still looking great with no problems. :)

She has about 2-3 weeks to go.

These things happen, nothing is a given when your guerilla growing. Im just glad I still have her and she dosent seem to be stressed. I am amazed time and time again at how resilliant these plants are :)

FYI we've been having heaps of rain in sydney the past 2-3 days. We had our monthly rain fall in 1 day 8o Concerns now are for mould, but hopefully the weather gets better in the next week.

Here's some photo's from today.

Larger plant started showing some weird symptoms. The leaves are starting to point upwards, Ill get a pic in soon.

Have two seedlings going as well, thinking about taking alot of clones from the larger plant( I believe its the Northern Lights clone that survived)

Anywho, been trying to help my girlfriend out as her father was shot about a week & a half ago and died, so, Sorry I haven't been very active on BL, I trust all is going well here, and if Im not around for the new thread Id rather AE or Wise420 make the next thread.[but I think I should be around for the next thread, but if Im not, don't disappoint me with the thread title ;) , guess thats what happens when I trust a mod I dont know to name the thread. ]

Okay, just got the pic,
See the leaves pointing upward?
Wondering whats up with that, Ive been watering with Ph from 6.0-6.7
Usually at about 75 degrees, (temps in closet have been 60 when off, and 72-73 regularly. gets warmer during the the afternoon, never goes over 78 though) Humidity is 40%, and I cant reach anything higher than that with the humidifier I have in the closet.
