We've been through this before guys. No specific sources. "Local nurseries" is fine. "Garden centres" is fine. Naming particular shops is not.

plants are looking very nice there wise ;)

so, got 2 clones in my box...... both were cuts taken from a plant in bloom, one has taken off pretty fast (re-vegged) but one still hasnt moved......
shud i be concerned or not.... im assuming that maybe sometimes plants may take longer than others.

easy wise, hope OIR ok, well my girl looks good but i still aint sorted out the extract, she is in her 2nd

They look incredible AE, Bet they smell and taste even better :)

Thought id mention that the seedbank I recommended a few weeks ago, my mate has just recieved his auto-blueberry order, along with durban poison ;)

Edit- A few new strains have popped up by GH. They have released Super critical which is an auto. Genetics are Big Bud x Skunk x White Widow and they have also released Big Bang autoflowering and its genes are Skunk X Northern Light X El Niño

can someone give me some info on the strains ghani squaw, iron horse or alpha kush?
i know the kush info will probably not be out there but i was hoping someone had some info on the strains because i got them basically from a shady stranger, so i was wondering if they are actual strain names

sorry man they sound as if your shady friend has made them up, i might be wrong though!!!!!

Thanks Wise. Those buds were actually dried on a drying rack, as a matter of fact. From what I can see I didn't suffer from any flat spots, which was a concern, however I think that's possibly because they were quite dense. I wish I could smoke them with you Wise. It's a shame you're on the other side of the world!

I might get buyer's remorse, but I just bought some more seeds:

I can't wait!!

Hey guys I've got my ballast so can finally start growing indoors! :) So whats a good amount of light to put seeds in???should i add any ferts or nutes to em or just let em grow "naturally" for the first few days??I will be growing in pots thinking of growing in pots BUT the floor on my shed is starting to come apart so i can see the dirt on the ground.Would the plants be right if i dug the ground out fill it with high quality soil and fertilizers and maybe some lime (to raise PH) Also the light is a 400wt mercury vapor i think that means it puts out all the spectrums or somthing??? somone please tell me i feel dumb :)

Thanks in advanced <3 =D <3 =D

I may be wrong, but I dont think you can use Mercury Vapours for growing Junkie.

To answer your other Q's. For indoor growing stick to pots mate. Start your seeds in a seed raising mix bought from *the fucking garden centre*. If you start the seed in small foam cups you wont need to start hand feeding untill you repot them into large pots.

My understanding is that mercury vapour lights give off a very narrow spectrum which isn't much use for growing weed, but I might be wrong.

^ you can grow weed with those lamps. In fact, that's what they used to use to grow plant routinely in the past.

However, you're perfectly right in saying they're definitely not as good as metal halide lamps and if I had a choice between the two I'd choose MH any day.

sorry sorry i ment high pressure sodium bulb :) it emits an orange-red glow that mean its a high pressure sodium bulb??i'll get a photo of it but i CBF at the moment im comming down from a 2 day meth binge :\

Alright thanks mate I'll get some seed raising mix tomorrow and crack the seeds tonight....Wouldn't it be better if the plants had maxium root room?eg in the ground instead of restricted in a pot?How much plants should i put under it???

Don't germinate your seeds in the ground unless you've cultivated the soil heavily the previous autumn and then raked it to a fine tilth (so it's crumbly and fine textured).

You're best buying or making a soilless mix for them.

edit: oh and to answer your question, they only need more space when it's become rootbound. You'll know it's root bound because you'll see the roots start to spiral. Ideally you should pot up (i.e. transplant) into a larger pot before this stage.

Okay thanks mate. I was planing on on germinating them in 2 moist napkins for a day or 2 like i usally do.Then once they've cracked put them in foam cups (with a hole poked in the bottom?)with seed raising mix. Then once there in the cups do i put the directly in the light or leave it to the side so its not receving the full light? How much nodes will be on the plant before i re-pot?how much plants will this light support??? i'll get a photo of it hang on.....

^ If I were you I would just put them in the seed mix rather than unecessarily handle the delicate taproots by germinating in paper towels. In some cases handling them can cause them to become runts, so it's best to avoid this if you can!

You only need to put them under light when you can see the cotyledon pop through the surface of the medium. When you see green coloured leaves/stem, you know it's there to photosynthesize and that it needs light.

For the first week, the light from a south facing window sill would suffice (if you do this, make sure you turn it around every day so that it gets light on all sides and doesn't become leggy).

I would forget about the number of nodes. Just pot it up when you see roots at the bottom through the hole(s) in the bottom of the cup (that's how you know when to pot up in general).

K alright i'll just chuck em in some seed mix then

How much plants to you think it could support???

i've got it running on a 400HPS ballest or a JB ballest thats what it says on the ballest did you want a photo of that too? and its alot brighter IRL....

^ make sure you leave it for 15 minutes before turning it on again, otherwise you'll lessen the working life of the bulb.

Here's the answer to the number of plants:

This question keeps cropping up nigh on every week so this is how I look at it although there is no hard and fast rules. How you choose to grow also determines plant numbers and pot size. I.E Screen of green(scrog) or Sea of green (sog).

I think the easiest way to work out the best pot size and plant numbers is to first look at what bulb you are using, and I'm using hps bulbs as my base and a 3ft x 3ft or 4ft x 4ft space, and whether plant numbers are a concern for you or just not practical

Work out how many ounces that bulb could and will produce if your grow practices are good. Averaging 1grm/watt as a rough guide

EG..600grms = 21oz so if using 9 plants 600/9 = 66grms/plant which is just over 2oz. A 6.5ltr pot whether in compost or coco will produce that size of plant consistently if like I said earlier its grown in a good environment. I cant see the point of using big pots if only needing a couple of ounces per plant. By the time a large pot has rooted out the plant will probably be too big and you will have had to top or supercrop to keep the height down plus its just wasted time

If using 4 plants then you would look for them to yield over 5oz/plant so then you would need at least an 11-15ltr if in compost but you would get away with 11ltr in coco. Coco tends to out yield compost by more when you get to the bigger pots. Training would mostly be used for smaller numbers to fill the canopy

You also have to take into consideration vegging times. Obviously if you need a crop off quick then its no good using big pots because your vegging times would be longer so smaller pots would be the order of the day. Smaller pots are better also when height becomes a problem

If using sea of green then you could if practical fit 100 plants in there in 1ltr pots but it should still yield the same as 4 plants seeing its the light that governs your yield to a great extent but you would have no vegging time

At the moment I have a 1000w in a 4ft x 4ft space. Ive put 16 plants in coco in there and I'm looking at around 2oz per plant so chose 6.5 ltr pots

So there's a few things that you need to look at before deciding, and then decide on what's practical for you

Hope this makes it a tad clearer

Hey guys. I've been using this product called clearex, prior to harvest as a "nutrient salt leaching" solution. The ingredients say it's 3% glucose, some sucrose and the rest is inert ingredients. Does anyone else use sugar-water type solution in conjunction with their flush to clean out the nutes? What I'm wondering is, can I just make a sugar water solution instead of spending the money on this product in the future? I'm in soil btw.
