[MEGA] Cooking with Cannabis

Unless you have a shit ton of stems, don't bother. And if you do have a shit ton of stems, soak 'em in some high proof alcohol for a while, strain and save. Also soak resin, or shwag weed. Repeat until you have some sufficiently saturated alcohol. Evaporate, or drink.

Not entirely true. THC doesn't have to be activated by heating it (in an oil or other solvent).

If you really have.. A LOT of stems, you could try it with some milk or alcohol..

You might not want to use your highest quality pot to cook with, try and get some decent mids and use a lot. Just cook up a batch of brownies with a half o or so, since unless you're just making one big brownie it'd be hard to measure out the dose in each one, and take one or two. Whatever you do, don't think an hour after taking them that they're not doing anything so you should eat three more, because it takes about an hour, perhaps more (or slightly less, of course) to kick in...just sit back and enjoy. It's not mind opening but can definitely be stronger and much longer lasting than smoking

but, generally, 1g of good bud would be a decent starting point. Like anything, starting out low is probably a better idea - you're not going to go crazy eating weed but hey, no point in wasting it all in one go :p
 
I'd just want 1 brownie. How can I make just 1? I could get an eigth of mids for like 30, I could probably get 5 grams of mids for like 45....I'd probably get a quarter, save 2 grams for smoking and put 5 grams into one brownie. That would probably work :-)
 
Make the brownie mix, then pour one brownie's worth of mix into, say, a cupcake pan - then add ur cannabutter to that one and there u go.

His tolerance ain't that low. I've smoked every day for years, and .25 of a gram would get me WRECKED. Then again, the weed around here is insanely good. 2 hit shit for sure.
 
If you make that brownie well at all, I wouldn't recommend putting 5 grams in there your first time, especially since you have low tolerance.

Try no more than 1.5 grams if its truly decent herb.

Eating pot is a common way to get "too high" and have a panic attack or anxiety. Its easy to eat the oral equivilant of way more pot than you'd normally smoke.
 
well orally it takes me a bit more but last longer and is a different high, i usally use trimmings but have used bud before i put 14g of schwag in a batch (10 brownies, 1 pack of mix) and i split them between 4 ppl and we where all extremely fuckin stoned, its a bit more sedating for me

it takes about 1.5x what you would smoke too get the same high.

Well I was talking about mids when I said 5 grams. Mids is like half as potent as the good herb around here, so I'd want roughly 2-3 grams of it in my brownie. I'll probably just buy an eigth of good bud then and split it in half. One half of that should work well :-)

If I dont feel it strong enough, I have another half an eigth for smoking. For tripping oral pot seems to be a good idea - it lasts much longer.
 
Great brownie recipe

Cooking with good pot, not schwag, has a good flavor and be used as rosemary for chicken and as general spice in many dishes. Pot butter gives chocolate desserts this really good and highlight flavor. Since I make many pot brownies to great sucess, i feel disappointed in the lack of people taking the time to make from scratch dope-tasting brownies, so attached is my brownie recipe.

To make the butter use in the recipe, finely grade bud (anywhere from an 1/8 to 1/2) and put it in simmering water for about three hours (dont boil,/just liquifiy the butter). he butter should be really green. Strain, then put in a container and put it in the fridge. The butter will settle to the top (because it has cool from a liquid to a solid), and the water will be on the bottom (which has other excess plant material). Cut out the butter and use in the recipe.

These brownies are bomb!!!!!!! Use Gharadeli chocolate if you can or highiest grade chocolate around your area.

Please take this time to try these, I promise you that you'll make them again.
 
URGENT: microwaving hash butter mix

Ok, I haven't got 30 mins to siver the butter and hash mix before i add it to whatever I'm going to eat.

I am going to microwave it! And to save me wasting my limited supply of hash, i have about £2.50's worth of it can anyone tell me if this is a waste? the microwave I'm using is 850watt power but i would turn it down just incase it would fuck with the weed.

I don't really want to just smoke it either cos i've been sitting in a room where they bought a dink bar (supid fuckers haha) and just the 2nd hand smoke from it is damaging.

This weed i'm going to use isnt dink btw :-)

Hehe, well that were really some quick replies!

But yeah, I hope it worked out.. I don't know how much hash 2,50 is, but I'm guessing around half a gram. Should work when you throw it in with some fatty stuff (for absorption).

Easiest way to do this is; get some yoghurt, get a spoon, get a lighter. Place (crumbled) hash in spoon with yoghurt, heat till it starts to bubble a bit (not too long), place in mouth after you've cleaned the bottom of the spoon (black). lol, have fun!
 
^^ well hes from the uk and 2.50 worth of frikking soap bar hash (see sig :D - you will be better off once reading that :D)

any way, heres a half decent way to get a better tasting butter...

add the hash to a sauce pan, which has enough water to coat the hash (a few CM's!).

Then keep stiring the hash and water until the water starts to boil - once this begins you need to turn the heat down so that the water is not bubbling!!

keep stiring until all the hash breaks down into little particles.

once you see the water turning mucky and are 100% sure that most of the hash is crumbled allow it to sit (still on heat, but remember MUST NOT BE BOILING)..

once it has seeped to the bottom pour the excess water off - if you are careful you can keep pouring the the water SLOWLY until the hash ALMOST comes out....

The whole point of this is to make the hash pure - ive made cookies with uk hash and PUKED like never before - so believe me this step is a MUST if eating hash...

once you have done this you can add a little water, (less than a CM) back into the sauce pan, then add butter - more or less depending on how concentrated you want it...

add to heat until the butter melts, stir it and then allow it too cool - TIP: put it in the fridge!!

once the butter has gone to its normal texture scrape and use...

BELIEVE ME = NEVER EVER COOK WITH HASH WITH OUT DOING THIS!!

loads of reasons, but the main one is it tastes MUCH better...

i do a similar routine w/ a spoon, some olive oil, and a piece of bread.
turn the stove top on high, put 2-3 bowls in the olive oil thats on the spoon, press it against the hot stove top and wait till it churns for a bit. pour it on the bread, wipe off the weed and enjoy. quick and its always gotten me baked
 
TIME is one of the main ingredients in high quality cannabutter. it takes a while for all of the goodies to be released and 'activated'. you might as well just eat the piece of hash and have a glass of hot milk based cocoa if you are going to microwave some butter
 
Budge (Bud Fudge)

1/4 oz mid grade buds
1.25 oz butter
3/4 lb light brown sugar
teaspoonful of vanilla essence
2 tablespoons of sweetened condensed milk

You will need also:
Candy (sugar) thermometer

Grind the herb to a very fine floury dust (a coffee grinder works well)
Simmer the herb in the butter for 30 minutes, hot enough to just not smoke and scorch the butter.
Add the sugar, condensed milk, vanilla, and a couple of ounces of water.
Bring to the boil, watching it all the time (it will foam up as it comes to the boil and you might have to remove it quickly from the heat to prevent it boiling over. Reduce the heat and continue to stir and simmer until it reaches exactly 240 degrees F.
Remove from the heat and let it stand undisturbed until the temperature falls to 120 degrees F.
Beat it briskly with a spoon for about a minute. It should start to look glassy (if it goes gritty or locks up you will have to reheat it all the way to 240 again!)
Poor immediately into a brownie pan or candy molds (the ones for chocolate cherries are good and you can pre-line them with foil squares for a real professional finish).
Allow to cool and set. If you used the brownie pan then you will need to cut it into 4 x 7 squares before it's fully set

One per stoner. Full effects take about 90 minutes.
Serves 28

Note that the herb stays in the final product. They are delicious.
 
Several things I’ve found whilst cooking with cannabis:

I've sprinkled bud over a piece of bread with cheese and cooked it in the microwave. I ate it and had no effects at all. I've found that the cannabis does indeed need to be heated up to be activated.
What I do is take 1/4 a cup full of bud (sorry I don't know weights when it comes to bud). Chop it coarsely.
Melt around 4 tablespoons of butter, place the bud in the butter. Simmer on a low heat for around 10 minutes. Make sure not to burn the butter.
I then take a 'make at home' cookie mix and substitute the butter required in that with my special butter. Cook as per directions.

Now the actual experience.
You will get extremely stoned compared to the amount you do through smoking. Take it easy, test a batch of cookies before diving in and eating three of them. THC overdose in a unpleasant experience and one which I don't want to repeat (I sat in my bed crying thinking I was in hell).

I start to notice some effects after around +1 hours. Things intensify and the peak is around +2 hours. I become impaired and unable to do most things until around +5 hours. I then start to comedown. I’ve noticed that I will be stoned even after 9 hours of sleep and find the whole experience lasting around sometimes +18 hours! So planning a time is essential.

Eating is completely different stoned and I suggest every person to try it. :)
 
I've a question regarding URBANHOG's cannabutter recipe, for the leaf. It calls for 500g of butter. If i don't have butter, but do have oil, how much oil should i use, instead of butter? thanks
 
You guys are all talking about using up large amounts of bud. If i want to experience eating pot just for the sake of seeing what it is like, for a few people or so, how much bud do i use? Say i want to put some weed in a Ritz cracker with some cheese. Do i eat as much weed as i would normally smoke, or more, or less?

You use far less weed than smoking. Eating is more efficant.
