Looks like a Border Terrier mixed with something maybe even a Jack Russel ?

I thought first Shih Tzu but don't they normally have a rounder head ? I also thought poodle because of her coat :D

It might be a Yorkshire Terrier mix. I was thinking it was too big and round to be a Jack Russell.

Border Terrier + (Dog with round body?) is certainly possible.

Sorry I worded my posting incorrectly - I meant Border terrier with Jack Russel, on thinking Jack Russels are small pointy things :D

I guess it's probably also too big to be a Yorkshire mix.

Yeah, I am pretty sure it's a Terrier/(bigger dog with round torso mix)

It is perhaps to early to answer this question, but-

Does she shed? If she ends up mostly non-shedding, needing clippers-than we ought start thinking schnauzer, poodle, etc

Ferocious? Towards people ringing the doorbell? Is she pretty tame and loving when the house hold isn't "under assault?"

Let's face it-we all want to kill the mail man and most of the meter readers.

She looks like a mix between another dog and a Schnauzer or terrier with the face, muzzle, ears, and you said how she is a guard dog.

Hey, thanks everybody. I love her - her name is Piper. AND my last name is Chapman. She's Piper Chapman - 7 years before OITNB came out too! Anyway, I looked at the vet adoption records and all it says is that they were told the father was Pug. I don't know how that's possible but the pic of the lhasa apso looks sooooo much like her. Maybe Pug/Lhasa...her hair is usually about 3 inches longer.

Why does my cat keep leading me to the same place

I just moved into a new house it used to be an assisted living home and my cat keeps leading me from one end of the house down the entire hallway to an old record player under a room that the land lord keeps her furniture in. And then he stands on the record player.
