Okay, was kinda messing around today, all of the bulbs on the Y sockets (that hold two light bulbs) are too hot to touch, all of the lights that are in single sockets, are cool enough to hold with my hand for as long as I want (yes it get hots but doesnt burn)

Im wondering if Y sockets that adapt with two bulbs could be putting off more heat as they are drawing more wattage through the same cord? or idk...

Does anyone know what Im talking about?
Been talking to a buddy of mine ;)
lol,
I think I may try setting up the plants on opposide sides of the closet, and having a foam container with a cover full of ice, I want to cut a small hole in that foam cover, and put a fan over that hole pulling air out of the foam box (as ice last much longer in foam than ...a bucket)
Or maybe just buy those blue Ice packs? and freeze them? that would be cheaper in the long run, anyways, if anyone has some idea , that may or may not work, Im up to try them...

Thanks again for the info ...and sorry for getting frustrated witht his, just annoys the hell outta me that my room can be 78, and my closet is 95...

Also, if I spray the plants, and have a fan gently blowing on them, would that help cool down the plant at all? I mean, Ive got the time to sit there and spray it all day, and arrange my light in every way I want, I just cant go digging in the walls...(Ill end up doing it if I fail at this grow...)
So, Any ideas , for cooling, are appreciated.

Closet sits at 82-84 with no lights on.

^ Hey man. A 20" box fan (about $15) propping the door open and blowing into the closet will bring the temp down 5-10 degrees. It's easy, cheap and it works. But you will only be able to do that for half the day once you flower...

Plant one and plant 2....
Or plant 2 and plant 1 I should say.

Got temp to 88...dont know if thats good enough...how low do I need for flowering, and why could I only do that for half the day with a box fan? temps cool enough when lights are off....

Temps should be around 75 for flowering.

You could run that fan when lights are on to cool things down, then off when the lights go off.

Anyone know whats wrong with that first pic of a plant? how to fix it? I've got temps down to about 88-87...
(I think they are lower than that, as our thermo stat reads 74, and my room is cold, the closet feels the EXACT same as my room, and the living room, and every other room, which is weird to me...idk...

Did the heat casuse that?
Ive got it down to 88 for now, will I be able to veg with that? should I try making my own CO2 to see if it helps with temps? Well, the plants ability to handle them anyway

My room is blacked out as well as the closet, only light that works in my room is...my monitor...and the lights in the closet, lol...Right now my hours go from 9pm at night to 3pm the next day, so , 18/6.(figured turning off around 2 - 3 would help as thats the peak heat of the day.

Anyways, Im down to 86-88, saw it hit 85 ....

Is that first plant going to start growing normal ? or is that how its supposed to look, Ive never seen a plant like that... my other sprout looks beautiful though..

So, when I start flowering, I guess Ill be flowering at night time, to help with temps...but, I dont think Ill be able to get 75 degrees...maybe 82-84 at best, maybe 79...idk...
So , is this going to ruin my flowering period?
Do Soft white bulbs put off less heat than the Day light bulbs?
Hmm, anyways...
thanks for the advice.

(Oh yeah, both are different genetics, but both are Northern Lights #5, just diff NL seeds)
(the larger seeds of NL, seem to be the more healthy plant, the other NL seems to be ...very unhappy, wish I could help)

When should I start feeding them? the first plant I started about a week or two ago, its getting bright green on the inside, idk whats wrong with it... that pic looks way diff than the plant , I mean , the leaves looked all fucked up like that, but the plants neon yellow/green

Plant in the first picture doesnt seem to be improving, plant in second picture is thriving...
I dont understand?

Look, Im trying to find something to temporarily keep the temperature down until I have money to do something about it. I know I need new shit, I know I need diff set up, I know I know I know I know. I cant do shit about it right now.

What Im concerned about right now is the well being if the plants.
I dont mean to be an ass, but, wtf, I dont have 500$ to throw on HID setup and cooling right now, if I did, you'd bet I'd go buy the shit I need. Dont you think?

So what? I can't do ANYTHING for my plants until I get a few checks in? I just let them sit there while my closet hits 99?
Come on.

Theres really ABSOLUTELY NOTHING I can do to even help now? I keep the door open as often as I can, Im thinking about just putting my humidifier back in there full of ice. that seemed to take down atleast 2-5 degrees. since I can't seem to get any ideas here.
Sorry if Im coming off as a dick, I've had a shitty day and this is really beginning to piss me the fuck off , to the point that I just want to drop it ...
Ugh...The plant before this was so damned easy.

so you can't spend the money it takes to buy the equipment you need, but you still want to grow a healthy plant,......good luck..

Well, Got my closet down to 81-84 with lights on,275 watts, 78 when off today.., plants seem to be doing pretty well,
Im saving the money to get other equipment, but I guess you didnt really read that did you now?\

I think the first plant had a deformity, as its leaves are still growing like that, and the other plant has taken off fine. The plant is growing new nodes/leaves , but they are all, very odd looking, as in the picture. Could this be caused by a bad transplant? say if the plant ripped a root or something?

And Pap, I dont get why you keep comming in here wishing my good luck like I cant grow shit if I dont go buy HID/HPS NOW!
Did you not see my plant on page 10, was that such a terribly unhealthy plant? I had less money then than I do now, and it seemed to do just fine, Not everybody needs the best equipment to grow well, it just helps alot.
Ive been saving my money for a ballast, already have the bulbs.
Im just trying to do something I enjoy .

temps have lowered, Ive been able to hold 81-82 degrees, plant #1 still isn't growing properly, I believe something may be wrong with it, I might have to just let it die to focus on one plant , If anyone knows a way that I can save that plant, or whats wrong with it(the only thing I can think of is, when I transplanted it, I heard a root break) obviously it wasn't enough to kill the plant,(well actually it might be in the end),

Almost postitive the heat isnt causing this, as its only in one plant, In the same area. Im pretty sure it was the root when it ripped/tore.

Anyone have experience with this? Is it going to grow up weak and mostlikely not produce much bud? The other plant is in the same medium, doing just fine.

I do wish you luck my friend......I did see your other plant.....it was beautiful......when you do finally get the proper equipment,...you'll see what I mean... I've been growing for over twenty years and I've been through all the stuff you're going through now....I guess thats probably the best way to learn....it seems to stick to you better...

The second NL is coming along nicely man :)

I rekon the first one has a genetic defect, ive seen plants that look exactly the same. Some do manage to grow normally though. Were you going to throw her outside?

Good work on getting those temps around 80, you should be sweet if it sits at that.

I have also had some like this......especially clones......sometimes they start off really freaky...but they always manage to straighten themselves out and grow normally....

Crappy quality but, Plant #2.

Took that deformed one outside today, flushed the pot with about , 4-5 gallons of water, until it was leaking pretty much 'clear' water with a very slight tint of yellow.

Well, both were femmed seedlings, germinated fine.
The first set of leaves came out perfect on that plant, then I transplanted from alittle paper cup (that u wash ur mouth out with after brushing ur teeth or w/e)
and then I put it into a pot, except, when I cut the cup in half, some of the soil fell out, ripping part of the root system with it...

Now, I was growing that weird one indoors, I put her outdoors today, after flushing it with so much water...
Figured I would take it out , leave it outside to see if it recovers, in the mean time, I can focus all of my wattage on the healthy plant, while the other just recovers outside(if it even does that)...

For some reason , the new foliage on the plant that looks odd is very stretched.
I'd say that the stems that were holding the leaves out were longer than the plant is tall...which kinda was weird to me, I clipped off the crappy looking leaves in hopes that the plant will start putting more energy into pushing out new leaves, and recovering.

Sorry for getting irritated with ya pap, I know what you were trying to say , Just been having a crappy week and went off.
Anywho...
I got the temps down to an average of 82...I think I should be able to veg with that temp...Flowering will be a bit difficult, but, I dont wanna worry about that until it comes around in a month or two..
