Well, my room is usually 83-85, I cant really open it much during the day , as people are here, but, the lights are off from 320-920 anyways, and as for temp its 93 lately. Anyone have ideas on how to vent a closet? I dont understand what made the heat jump , I took my dresser out of the closet, thats not it is it?anyways, idk, Im lost.
2 fans in there going pretty good, still to much heat. idk, gotta goto bed, work soon, thank all for the advice , its muc appreciated.

Not sure why the temp has jumped, but if ventilations is needed you'll need to do some DIY if thats approved:\

^^ in my closet the temps were always 3-5degrees hotter when the fans were on, i cant explain why, but the temp always jumped when the fans went on, maybe it has something to do with the closet setting

Well, 87 today...Blah , this is going to be hard to get a good plant going in this heat, especially when it comes to flower...
:(
I've got 4 fans, all of which push a good ammount of air, now, I put the two fans that push the most in the closet, I've got one blowing towards and through the lights, and the other is on the receving end where that hot air is being blow, and that fan is pointing directly upward (to get the heat from the bulbs to rise ...)
I've tried re-arraging the fans, and quite a few other things, I was wanting to go buy more bulbs , so I can have atleast 175 , watts on each plant. but, with temps where they are at, I dont know if that going to work..

Also, when I first started growing, I had this very same problem ,
Is it because the bulbs are low, close to the soil/plant, so wind isn't really blowing through them, its just getting moved around, when I raise the bulbs into the air, (when my other plant got bigger), heat was pretty dispersed and I had a pretty nice 83-85.

Idk, Im really not liking this.

How would I know if the fans runs hot?

Okay, question, what is it thats making the edges of the leaves burned?

I flushed the soil cause I hear co cocoir can have alot of salt in it, so I flushed before planting. Im kinda curious as to how to help these plants, I really cant afford for these things to die on me.

I've ran much more than a cup of water over it, I watered with probably 2 cups today, Most of the water around the plant rather than directly on it (hoping it would stretch its roots? idk)
anyways Ill try watering with water directly..
What do you mean to strong?

To strong as in to much nutrients in your medium. When I mentioed about keeping mixes simple this is what I was reffering too.

I haven't put nutes in,

All the medium consists of is 60%co cocoir,, 20%peat, 10%perlite 10%wormcasting, and the other with the new sprout had a little tiny ammount of bone meal...

Is that bad?

I think your missing the point, that with bone meal, worm castings and cocoir, they all provide Nutrient Value.

Your plants are burning due to to much food/nutrients in the mix.

I just finished a northern lights grow......it turned out nice. the plants were a little small, but that could've been my fault...I think I waited too long to transplant to a larger container....anyway, it has a very nice taste to it and a great high....I won't grow it again....I need something with a higher yield....I might have to go back to the jack herrer..

I agree with wise420....I think they are over fertilized.....that usually shows itself by the tips of the leaves burning off..

They are small, indeed...Guess Ill just flush it with water.
I dont give a shit if it dies or not anymore...blah.
I can't even get my fucking closet at the right temp, hit 98 today, I give up.

Flushed them with 2 liters each,
Question
The inside if the leaves, new growth, closest to the stem is bright green. what is that from? (I haven't been over watering)

Could I spray these plants all day, with a water bottle, and have a fan blow on them, would that cool down the plant at all?? or what...( i know plants aren't hummans, and dont sweat, but, I sprayed myself with the water bottle infront of the fan, it sure helps cool me down, haha)

Right now I currently have a pot that has nothing in it but salt and Ice...I put a fan ontop of the bucket pushing air upwards, temp dropped to 91......
Now, would this be okay to do , daily? I know it'd get expensive, but , I can't go cutting into the walls to make a vent system, and no ones had many suggestions for the heat, as, Ive taken down the mylar, even the light proofing that I had done, took a fan out...idk.
kinda feel screwed, I know the plant cant flower in that heat, and that heat will also slow vegg growth. Damn..

Also, no one really asnwered, I was wondering if I could turn my lights off for about 5 min intervals through out the day, these bulbs cool very quickly, but Im not sure if this would disturbn the plants as the lights would be going off every 2 hours for a few min, I'd leave one on, (kinda like when the sun is covered by the clouds) idk.
Anyways, Im still tryin to think of how to cool this thing, as for now I guess the ice will work...dunno what to do after that.

I think you should go to some HD lighting that you can put in some ventilated hoods...If you start jacking around with trying to turn the lights off and on for cooling, you could possibly shock the plant enough to hermie..

Okay , I noticed the only thing I did different right now, other than the medium.
Dont know if it makes a difference, but , I had all of my lights in clamps with a circlular reflector on it, Would those possibly disperse the heat slower than say, a bulb out in the open? idk.

As for hps, Im not working many hours , each paycheck is probably 250, most of that goes to gas and bills, leaves me about 100$ per check to spend on stuff..

Also, Do you think I'd be able to soak a sheet in ice water and hang it in my closet , and let a fan blow on it, if the sheet is cold, and wet, blowing a fan on it would make it seem cooler, and wouldnt it evap into the air and cool it down?

Should I use a humidifier with Ice water??

....Argh.

that kind of stuff is going to lead to a mold infection...stacci batrus......its deadly man....and all those fans and lights don't mix well with water.....you're going to have to use something else...

Look, Im trying to find something to temporarily keep the temperature down until I have money to do something about it. I know I need new shit, I know I need diff set up, I know I know I know I know. I cant do shit about it right now.

What Im concerned about right now is the well being if the plants.
I dont mean to be an ass, but, wtf, I dont have 500$ to throw on HID setup and cooling right now, if I did, you'd bet I'd go buy the shit I need. Dont you think?

So what? I can't do ANYTHING for my plants until I get a few checks in? I just let them sit there while my closet hits 99?
Come on.

Theres really ABSOLUTELY NOTHING I can do to even help now? I keep the door open as often as I can, Im thinking about just putting my humidifier back in there full of ice. that seemed to take down atleast 2-5 degrees. since I can't seem to get any ideas here.
Sorry if Im coming off as a dick, I've had a shitty day and this is really beginning to piss me the fuck off , to the point that I just want to drop it ...
Ugh...The plant before this was so damned easy.

Hey Prelude, DW mate they'll be fine. Smoke something :)

Maybe you could try going back to the exact same set up your first plant grew in, even if it means taking some lights out. You should get rid of those big silver ones, pretty sure they'll be putting off most of the heat, that should definatly drop temps and give you enough time to get something else sorted for cooling the box, while your babies grow.

Just read this, use the clamps again and see if it makes a difference.

Were you using the same number of lights your last run, this time?
