I'm with Brimz on this. Before E made it into the publics awareness people didn't rave all night to electronic music. This change redefined music, musicians, clubs & brought about the phenomenon of raves. We're all familiar with the word now but when 20,000 people started gathering in remote fields all of a sudden it was unheard of & massively culturally changing.
For many meph will be a definiting part of their past, that cannot be denied but its origin and belonging flowed organically from the dance music scene aka ecstasy.

This is good, its like a condensed history of dance music & how ecstasy was at the heart of it. It covers everything from new Order, the Hacienda, Krafwerk, emergence or raving, Ibiza the lot. But confirms that ecstasy underpinned more recent events, and as the title suggests, changed the world.
