A couple of weeks ago, somewhat unexpectedly I had a full-blown (tonic-clonic) seizure this was the second time I’ve had one, the first being about 17 months ago.

There was no obvious (to me) aetiological link between the two fits but that’s not why I’m posting here, the second occurred about 15 minutes after arriving at a festival and was definitely not drug related, its annoying cos I’d only just really got over the serious agrophobia I suffered after the first fit as the warning seems to consist of: Oh shit I feel really weird and then BANG – My brain is gradually beginning to function in an understandable way and half an hour has elapsed and I’m either in an ambulance or at a hospital (first time it happened in my local stupormarket)....

Anyway after an early night, I awoke in my tent in a field in Scotland and someone proffered to me a bag of mdma, I took note of the position of the onsite ambulance and dabbed a tiny bit (prob about 1/4 of my usual dose) as I was still feeling pretty shaken up, however I needn’t have worried because my fear of fitting disappeared as soon as the mdma took effect.

I admit now that after another tentatively small dose I ended up caning quite a lot (and some mephedrone, and a pill or two – had a fantastic day), but in very small doses I could seriously see MDMA having a role to play in anti-anxiety medication, obviously the potential for abuse would be huge but multitudes of valium addicts would probably be a lot happier…

For the record the next day I continued with my anti-anxiety treatment and had a little more mdma, ½ an ‘E’ (seemed kosher), a 6-APB pellet, a capsule of psilocybe cubensis and finally 10mg of valium which sent me into a deep contented slumber…

Back home the next day tho and since the agrophobia is back big style, got a docs appointment tomorrow wonder what the chance of a few Es on prescription are?

MDMA was initially used for many therapeutic purposes- check out Pihkal by Alex Shulgin.

MDMA saved my life- it came into my life at a time of very difficult decisions, and it gave me the clarity to make the right one (the more difficult one too!).

Sorry, I laughed a bit when I read this: "ot a docs appointment tomorrow wonder what the chance of a few Es on prescription are?"

Regardless of how great it can be, MDMA is illegal in all nations I know of, so it cannot be prescribed. A doctor does not have the authority to over-ride the legality of a narcotic- you couldn't just order up some heroin for the right patient etc. etc.

I know exactly what you mean to some extent, I had a similar problem where everytime i would get on a public bus i would force myself in to a full blown panic attack, Mdma changed my whole mind set of being on buses and i can now ride around the city fear free :)

I don't think you should even mention E or mdma to a doctor, as they would probably figure that it was what has caused your problems, as it's been known to induce such fits in a 'few' people. Also i don't think pharmacies stock anything like that lmao.

The FDA have approved the use of MDMA in the treatment of war vets - so hopefully once they realise how powerful and useful a tool it actually is, the use may spread (again).

For now though I would hold off asking your doc for any.

I would avoid using too many drugs for dealing with anxiety (even of the non-social) kind. I highly doubt that chronic MDMA use is conducive to dealing with anxiety just because there will be a tendency to use MDMA as band aid, as opposed to a tool that will allow you to deal with anxiety without any chems.

Yea I agree, I believe psychiatrists use meds to help the patients confront their problems through the therapy and not to use it as a band-aid like you said.

MDMA lowers the seizure threshold also, so if you have them you probably should avoid taking MDMA and for that fact, even if it was 100% legal, no doctor would give it to you if you are seisure prone.

The question of whether low-dose MDMA could be used as a daily medication is an interesting one. Given that pharmacologically similar drugs (such as amphetamine) have proven to be valuable daily treatments for some conditions (such as attention-deficit) I think it's reasonable to believe that there's potential for MDMA to also have daily-use applications.

But, that's just theory. In the real world, I don't see MDMA ever becoming a PRACTICAL daily dose med. If nothing else, misuse would be a rampant problem.

They've approved EXPERIMENTS to test whether MDMA can help war vets; MDMA is not yet "approved" in the sense of being an accepted medical treatment.

I have been thinking about doing a small dose of MDMA to help with the anxiety. I came down with a ASD or possibly PTSD over the summer after going to jail with a head full of L. My anxiety still has not been like it used to me. Not as bad now but not where i would like it to be.
