MDMA has been used in "talk therapy" sessions in the past. From the many articles and experiences I have read in books, magazines, the internet, etc., it seem to have helped these patients deal with many issues in their lives.
Kudos to this research and trial! I hope someday, if successful, this will be able to be put into use for patients in the mainstream. By this it may even alleviate people of high cost therapeutic sessions since the MDMA sessions will be used only a few times throughout their lifespan.
Also, as far as depression goes, I have personally experienced the "Black Tuesday/Wednesday" after a Saturday night out at a party. I found that by taking 5-HTP (over the counter) before bed on Sunday morning and even a day or two after completely rid me of these dreaded couple days after. 5-HTP I use regularly to aid in sleep and serotonin production, even though it's been a couple years since my last roll. Maybe this could help with the nasty after-effects of some ecstasy users and even the soldiers. Though I've never had pure MDMA, I'm not sure what, if any, negative after effects there would be if no other dirt is present.
My two empathogenic cents.
