MDMA and donating blood

I'm not sure what kind of user you are, but most likely, if you are a moderate user (meaning you take the drug sparingly and leave lots of time in between uses) the drug should have cleared your system.

GM brings up an important point about injecting mdma. If you shared needles while injecting mdma this last time you used it (or if you have ever shared needles in the past...regardless of drug) then there is a chance that you could have picked up a virus which you would not want to share with others.

sorry PFF but i think if u r a habitual drug or recent drug user answer is NO!!!

Congratz on being a concerned human being and all but morally speaking.........
if u are doing anything like drugs u really shouldnt be looking at another person and going "heres my blood....but i smoke weed, take x,inject heroin....but it should be out of my system by now!"

^^

The half life of all of the drugs that you just listed are completely different.

Typically speaking, amphetamines will be out of your system in around three days after a single use. This will of course differ widely if the person is a habitual drug user. Weed on the other hand is fat soluble and can be stored in your system for around 30 days (more if you smoke daily).

If the drug is out of your system why would using drugs in the past automatically disqualify you from donating blood? Just because you have used in the past does mean that your blood is tainted forever. You're not really presuming that are you?

Also, don't you think that the blood is being tested before it is being passed to another person? It's not like they shoot a line into your arm and have the other end going into the recipient directly. ;)

thanks for ur responce purplefirefly, and to answer ur comment, i only use E once a month or once every 2 months. And i have never injected any drugs lol. THanks

I have never given blood however from what I understand, there is a series of questions that they ask you before you give blood and they would cover the using drugs angle................I imagine it would be something along the liones of.........Have you used any drugs in the past week...if so..what.

Just answer honestly...........they will probably test the blood anyways and be able to see if you lied or not.

Blood is to important to lie about IMO.

^ Uhh why? Donating blood isn't going to kill you, and its probably going to save someone else's life.

i understand all the half life nonsense....my thing is not that your blood is tainted forever...for me its a moral responsibility that if u are taking whatever drug whenever u want then you really shouldnt be giving blood when you honestly arent taking proper care of your body

Half life really isn't "nonsense" and it pertains directly to what the OP is inquiring about.

It's also good to point out that not all drugs are toxic to your body, and by taking drugs you aren't necessarily doing significant harm (if any harm at all) to your body. It's all dependent on which drug you choose to ingest. It's really misleading to say "if you have done any drugs in "blank" amount of time then you should not give blood".

I also want to re-state: They are going to test your blood before they will donate it to someone. :) Even if they do find drugs in your blood then they will just throw it out, they aren't going to give it to someone anyway.

so if you are a smoker and your lung is operational to speak and someone needs a lung to live you would give them your charred lung?

i know im not bringing anything usefull to this thread, but i saw the title and i instanty loled at the thought of someone receiving blood in the hospital and he starts rolling

this sorta doesn't relate to the topic, but I couldn't find a similar thread so I'll ask here:

I'm going to the doctor today because I'm sick and I'm sure that he'll ask me to get a blood test(I always get a blood test because once before I took one and they found out that I was anemic so I have to get a check regularly now), question is: the last time I did e was on saturday night and I did around 3 pills(birthday thing). Today its wednesday so can E be detected through a regular blood test? I'm guessing not but I just want to be 100% sure.

my mum is a manager at a blood bank
they will ask if you've injected but thats about it

so you will be fine there

and they don't test the blood for drugs, only the main diseases

This thread made me think, if you were high on a substance, like really really high. And somebody took your blood and gave it somebody else would they get high form the substance?

I Know it's never gonna happen cause the ygotta test it & store it and shit but say it did happen..?
