MDMA and cocaine

Blowing coke whilst rolling pretty much kills your roll. I'm sure most people are aware of that. I read somewhere exactly why it does, and I can't for the life of me find it again. So, why is it (biologically speaking) that cocaine kills MDMA dead?
 
I don't know the chemical reasons, but twice I made the mistake of wanting to keep the party going and both times not only did my roll die I get a sharp pain in my groin....coke & E the worst combo EVER!!!
 
A friend of mine once said "ecstasy is like cocaine except cocaine makes you love yourself and ecstasy makes you love others." Dunno if I agree but thought I'd put it out there. Anyway on to the topic at hand. Cocaine supposedly binds serotonin (not just dopamine) receptors quite a bit more than people usually think, and, just hypothesizing here, might do so preferentially to the serotonin flood of the MDMA?
 
i remember doing coke the day after i got pretty high on some pff. Doing the coke made me feel like i was high on weed again. also i smoked a dub of dank weed between 4 heads and took a couple of concertas that day. That was the highest ive ever been, like at brownies or something. I think the stimulants can rapidly increase ur metabolism, potentiating other chemicals in ur body by making them flow through ur body faster.
 
never tried it when intensely high on mandy, but did when i was at that point nearing the comedown... felt nice...

a bit more running around the party being crazy (not in the bad way, well maybe for other people lol) although not as much direct "life is amazing" feeling...

not very much experience with cocaine though

I always thought mandy = mandrax = methaqualone, I take it you are referring to MDMA? That's a new one for me.
 
i dunno; it's fairly common in the uk, in the sense that people would know what u r talking about if u said mandy.
 
MDMA causes reverse transport of serotonin through the serotonin transporter (SERT), whereas cocaine simply blocks the transporter with a similar or higher affinity than MDMA. If cocaine is sitting in the SERT, MDMA can't get in there and do it's thing, so the release of serotonin is stopped in its tracks.
 
pfft. i did a couple lines when i was rollin my dick off. definitely made it better. gave me such a good warm tingly feeling inside my body
 
SWIM is going to be rolling tomorrow. SWIM will wait until the comedown to take coke. SWIM is wondering does the coke kill the roll instantly? The coke definitely ruins a trip on shrooms
 
if you are off your tits don't do it, but if you find yourself in a relative state of normality then it will probably feel nice

Heh, accurate on the surface but IMO coke is a very social drug in moderation. The chatting can be very enjoyable, and some people it REALLY opens up. It only makes people self-centered when they do it often/regularly for awhile, i.e. addictively... unfortunately, lots of people end up there.

Yeah, cocaine really opens me up a lot. Like a LOT. Not as much as MDMA, but still quite a bit.

Why exactly while using coke on mdma does the coke entirely kill the mdma, and there is no high from the coke? Simple terms for non-chem majors please.

And an aside - why do some people enjoy this combination? For me it is the most total waste to time and money, but I have friends who do genuinely seem to enjoy a line in the middle of their e..........

I only tried this combo once, and I got really fucked up. I did much more e then coke though.
 
i think it might psychologically ruin the high for some people via the sobering effect it sometimes has. loads of times i suddenly feel strangely sober in the middle of the night (not from cocaine just for subjective reasons) and then kind of fall out of the groove.....
