I know this topic has been beaten over the head after seeing all the threads on it, but have heard answers go both ways.

I know MDMA releases much more serotonin than dopamine, so I seen a lot of posts say that amphetamine tolerance shouldn't effect MDMA tolerance given that amphetamines rely on dopamine release instead of serotonin.

On the other hand I have heard people say that it can cause MDMA tolerance because the low norephedrine and dopamine release potential from the frequent amphetamine use and that those two neurotransmitters are actually important for a successful roll in addition to the serotonin.

I would love to hear some personal experiences from anyone that has tried to or successfully rolled with a high amphetamine tolerance.

I personally have been taking extended release adderall every day for over a year now and notice an extreme tolerance to MDMA even with a month break from the adderall. However there a ton of other variables going on, so I'm probably not the best person to ask.

MDMA is an amphetamine and whilst it does primarily work through serotonin release there are reports saying that ratio of serotonin/dopamine/norepiniphrine release is what makes MDMA what it is. There is deffintly a cross toelrance between amphetamine and MDMA but more on the dopamine/norepiniphrine side of things. Methamphetamine on the other hand does share a fair bit of cross tolerance as it works on serotonin aswell (to a much lesser extent than MDMA ofcoruse).

Thanks for the reply MollyFein. That was the direction I was leaning towards. Kinda disappointed though, guess I'm going to have to quit adderall if I ever want to roll again.

You would probably find you could roll on MDMA if your taking the Aderall - in the sense of harm minimisation its not reccomended as its said that neurotoxicity is greatly increased when cominbing serotonergics with dopaminergics (MDxx with Amphetmaines) - as it should help make up for the lack of norepiniphrine and dopamine from MDMA alone.

Safest thing would be to quit it, can I ask why your taking it? Prescrbied for ADD/ADHD?

Yes, I am prescribed 30mg daily for ADD/ADHD. It helps me a lot with my social anxiety and staying focused, but I guess I don't necessarily NEED it. I already have gone a month without taking it already, might as well keep it up. Withdrawal hasn't been too bad, just very fatigued.

I remember trying to roll a few months back by skipping my adderall for just a week and the MDMA still had pretty much no effect on me. Dilated pupils but that's about it. Hoping this month's adderall break will have been long enough to see some different results.
