MD, Baltimore - 07.24.04 - Starscape 2004 **REVIEW**

last year at starscape, i didn't get searched. I wasn't guilty of this, but i could have brought ANYTHING i wanted in. that isn't saying that you should be silly and irresponsible, but not too many door problems. hardly any security walking aorund, but they're there as always. no problems finding a nice little spot to blaze...

starscape is awesome, im looking forward to it a whole bunch, and im hoping it's not hot as balls that weekend!
 
Ahh... I'll probably end up changing my mind once it gets closer. There are just some certain things that have been turning me off to the idea of going. It will also depend on the lineup being worth my money, if I have someone to go there with and stay with, and when it actually ends up happening.

i'm not sure who else in this thread can vouch for my super-coolness since i'm soooo west coast. web?

this is the event where i'd get to meet all the east coast bluelighters, right?


and when do they release a lineup? or is it buried somewhere in the 18 pages of this thread?

lineup still yet determined...and yeah, this is the reason why im not making any definites til that happens. ive already had to cancel hotel reservations once.

but if miss moey is gonna be there, odds are increasing. would be cool to rock out with you, again. whats it been? what, the SSNCT?!?! man, was forever ago!

I went to Starscape in 2001, 2002, and 2003 (and I'm going this year). Last year's not getting searched was a total fluke. I don't know WHY they did that. But don't count on that to happen again. In the previous 2 years they did search.

You ARE allowed to bring your own drinks in, provided they are in sealed containers. As in.... if you wanna go buy a bottle of soda from the store and NOT open it..... you can bring that in. You can't break the seal though. I think the same goes for food. But I'm not 100% sure. I've had friends bring in bags of candy before though and been ok.

There is security. Lots of it. And lots of cops walking around. I did notice last year wasn't *as* heavy on the security. But like I said the previous 2 years they were. So anticipate that to happen this year as well. I saw several people get busted in 2001 and 2002. And lots of cops. And heard lots of stories of things happening.

Don't be stupid. Please. Stupid people fuck things up for everyone else :X
 
Well in '01 the line at the time that I arrived was so incredibly long and they had no female security workin searches (however they did have females takin tickets so I dunno why they didn't put them in search lines) so all I got was a metal detector and he checked my bottle of water to see that it had not been opened. He couldn't touch me cause he was a man :p

Honestly the fact that they had nobody doing searches last year totally caught me by surprise. I have no idea why they didn't do it. And yet I think last year's SS had fewer arrests/trouble than the previous years when people did get searched lol.

Bottom line is..... people get away with too much shit whether you search them or not. :\
 
i could care less about searching.

however, i DO care about the DJs going. Damn it tell me now lo :)
 
ROLLerskater954 - when the lineup is announced, it will have info as to where to buy tickets. dont worry though, it wont sell out. that location is huge.

I don't recognize that as being one of the outlets they've used the past 3 years.

I'm sure you can order tickets through Ticketmaster. The past 3 years I bought my tickets from Modern Music in Baltimore. Too bad I live waaaaaaaaay too far away for that to work now lol.

I need to go bug my promoter friends and make them divulge information that is supposed to be top secret muahahhah :o

i guess my friends and i will try to secure airfare and hotel reservations before buying tickets............unless they're is an option to buy them cheaper online at an earlier date like i've seen some events do.
 
just please wait until the full information is released!!! there is always the chance that they could change the date again. this info is just more of a 'mark your calendars' type of thing, not book airfare etc.

Baltimore Washtington International (BWI) ?

cuz search engine was saying Regan and Dulles are also nearby........

I believe BWI is the closest (locals can correct me if needed, I'm used to occasional correction). Though it may/may-not provide the best deal (cost). Car rental would be recommended unless you can coordinate someone to pick your butts up at the airport, but history has proven that getting a ride back for your flight home is really tough to do among the cracked-out morning after crew.
