"Math Rock" is one of my favorite terms to use when discussing music genres - its the most beguiling and intriguing.

Nothing gets me off more completely than Don Caballero's "What Burns Never Returns" I've been trying to get folks together to play this "style" of music for months now. I'll post future recordings...

here's some amazing live stuff : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fcqr1bPo4kw&feature=related

Oh, and check out this recent track by Polish band "Moja Adrenalina" - its something else

If you guys wanna hear the most mathmatical bands ever, and believe me, this is my area of expertise, listen to:

Meshuggah, Dillinger Escape Plan, Blotted Science, Psyopus, Spastic Ink, Veil Of Maya, PERIPHERY(my fav), Bulb, After The Burial, Dysrythmia, Behold The Arctopus, The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza, FellSilent, Coprofago, Tesseract, Born Of Osiris, A Life Once Lost, Vildhjarta, Sybreed, Frederik Thorendal, Ion Dissonance, Dog Fashion Disco(my other fav), Bring Me The Horizon, Aeons Collapse, Eat The Crow, Beyond Years, UnOther(some math there), Enemy Within, Between The Buried And Me (alaska), BOTCH (minus the bear guitarist dave's old band-wow another fav big time), Vaeremia, also, Allan Holdsworth is a great mathmatical jazz musician who heavily influences all my favorite bands listed above.

- then.....check out my personal stuff on myspace.com/thefallingdream. I like to mix mathrock and mathmetal with accessable choruses so everyone can listen to it. Hoping to bring math to the masses and unite us all so we all can listen together, and cure simple minded media sheep with math and music slowly

Well, that being said, that should keep all of you busy for awhile. Hahahaha! Hope u guys enjoy.

Love- The Falling Dream

I realize this post is 3 years old but bring me the horizon? Really dude? I'm not even hating on em they're a pretty good band but not even close to math core and some of the others you listed are pretty iffy too.

Laika, where you at? Need recommendations, brah. (inb4 Don Caballero)

DEM DRUMS

^ Every big Hella fan I've ever spoken to says they hate the addition of Aaron Ross to the line-up, but I dunno man, I think this is a pretty sick track:

Their latest album was pretty good too:

That most certainly is sick. I'm indifferent to the addition.

Regularly Scheduled Math Rock Bump:

Sweet bump, brah. I've searched for this song on YouTube forever and somehow just now found it.

A little more heavy-metal flavored than others . . .

I like my mathrock a little more on the psychedelic side tho.

I wasn't sure if I should post this in the jazz thread but I figured I'd bump that with something else.

And besides, this has a different time signature, so it belongs more in here. Yeah, we'll roll with that.

Who likes Mouse on the Keys?

This guy.
