US Politics Mass Shootings and Gun Debate 2021

If you watch the entire series (not just the current one) they drill down and show cases. The majority IS black on black gun violence in Chicago. It is concentrated in the West and South sides. It is also very much gang and drug trade territory related. I'm not blaming anyone but those are the facts. Kids are being shot in their homes due to stray bullets because the shooters don't care where the bullets fly.

I believe it, I just wanted to comment on the video in case anyone else watched it for what they should expect. Actually, just the numbers were really eye opening.
I’ll take a look at other episodes as well. It’s an interesting topic, although quite tragic. I can’t imagine what it’s like to grow up in that environment.
Also, I think viewers and readers would benefit if race was discussed more openly with regard to these issues. If people are being disproportionately affected by race, that should be highlighted, and the impact considered. I would think. But I get why it’s not, I just don’t agree with the premise.

Imagine what would happen if criminals (real criminals I mean) suddenly couldn't make money off the drug trade? Imagine one day noone would go to some sketchy guy for their drugs because they could buy it cheaper and better legally.

I'm preaching to the choir I know. But I honestly wonder what would happen. In detail I mean from a criminology perspective.

I watched the one below, which wasn’t part of the series apparently, but was on the YouTube list you posted. It’s about the South side of Chicago.
I can’t really recommend it wholeheartedly, but some interesting points were made, like the fact that instead of vice principals they have cops in South side, which starts records young for minor offenses that would normally be handled by a disciplinarian in a school system rather than a cop. Also, one of the commentators who ran a music studio talked about the need for people to be able to make mistakes (he was clearly referring to entrepreneurial efforts, not crime) and how being extraordinary all the time is too high of an expectation. There was also a lot of commentary about after school activities becoming nonexistent.
It starts out really weird with gang members just talking about nothing, but it gets better.
It’s told from the point of community members, and they are clear that gangs and violence are big problems in the South side.
Again, interesting topic.

I wouldnt doubt it but on the same train of thought I'd think most big nra supporting politicians knew and supported the plan. In fact im almost sure of it. There's a chance nobody is "minding the store" but I doubt it. Or maybe children are going on motiveless killing sprees for no reason.

Lol, no, but if I ever start my commune ill be a card carrying SRA member for sure. I'm saying I think there is a conspiracy to disarm the public, and I think both left and right wing politicians are aware and complacent. Sure maybe the right wing will be the one to enact authoritarian measures. But who will take away the guns to stop us from resisting? The center-right democratic party obviously

I'm very bipartisan on the issue, I have no problems with citizens owning assault rifles, however I really do not believe there is anyone at all, let alone a conspiracy, to take away anybody's guns.

Lived in California where ARs are banned... certainly does not stop the gun deaths or violent crime...
 
I don't hold onto conspiracies very hard. Concentration camps in America are a thing of the past, but a thing nonetheless. I'd be less worried about your damn guns if I were you.

I mean, it would seem to. Wish they'd never been invented personally. With the most lax gun laws in the world, and most civilian shootings, it should be obvious. Way too many in circulation to ban them. With the fact that someone can easily and cheaply buy a gun on Facebook in countries they are banned (say guatemala) and horrendous social conditions you'd think it would be more popular elsewhere (mass shootings)

Why are they a us centric issue?

America runs on greed and $ and we have way too much to ever ban or stop guns

It's like trying to make drugs illegal. It doesn't do anything except punish good people usually.

nothing in america has ever changed democracy is a illusion. They are all the same because the same lobbies have paid them all off to write whatever fucking law they want. One just has to look at many parts of america to see the insane poverty that is not present in other parts of the world yet america still rejects welfare taxes and all sorts of shit.

Its a fucking war zone in so many american cities with all the jobs went to china and still continue to do so while the american education system at school is really fucking bad.

Whats up with the american ghetto as gangsters anyway they are so fucking stupid they cant even aim a fucking gun right and think this shit is the matrix and you can dodge bullets lol!

I've seen quite a few tragedies in those countries, and their media is controlled - remember?

either way mass shootings are the direct symptom of our culture and should be treated as a disease
