US Politics Mass Shootings and Gun Debate 2021

They'll never get rid of guns in America, or outlaw them, it's part of our culture, it's too bad you have so many bad seeds or nut cases that have access to them.

If they made it easier in certain states for law abiding citizens like where I live in New Jersey where it's almost impossible to get a gun permit, maybe these mass shootings would lessen, they should make gun ownership easier allover America, for citizens without felonies, this way we could combat these lunatics.

In Pennsylvania you're allowed to carry your gun on your holster at your side.
Guns for me, not for thee. In neo liberal states only the rich and influential can get gun permits. We just legalized permit-less carry, which is partly why we are being infested with blue state refugees.

New Jersey is probably one of the most liberal states in America, only the criminals can get guns easy, they don’t apply for permits.

You in Texas?
Southern state, don’t wanna say tbh. The amount of refugees we are getting it’s truly horrifying. I see California and NY plates every day. And while the patriarchs usually move here and have sense, they bring a whole host of zombies with them want to change their new host into what they fled. I hate it so much, I want Balkanization/succession yesterday Unironically.

We get a lot of Florida people where I live, every other license plate is from Florida and all the wealthy Orlando people want to turn this beautiful liberal and peaceful place with unique shops and great culture and cool people everywhere into New Orlando. The cool people are slowly trickling away out west, one by one, because it's becoming so commercial. Pisses me off. They're starting to infest the city council and letting in all the big box stores and trying to change zoning laws and policies and I can see in another 10-20 years it won't be much like it is now, just another big city. It's good for my property value though so I guess there's that.

There are four new condominium complexes in the small neighborhood we moved into 25 yrs ago

One of the biggest status symbols is the amount of leaf blowers & edge trimmers one of them can have going every day of the week

May be time to uproot once again ...

There's a dumbass I have for a neighbor who spends 2 hours every fucking day it feels like leaf blowing his yard. His yard is a fucking forest and he leaf blows the forest floor like a fucking tool. I want to steal his leaf blower and ritualistically sacrifice it and make him watch and then tell him he's fucking up his forest section like a dumb city fucker.

I'm from Jersey and all you see is New York plates, they increased our rent rates and the house prices skyrocketed.

into New Orlando.

Fwiw, Orlando is very liberal, but very concrete and big city as you note. If your area weren't so damn appealing (nature, aesthetics) and so liberal like they are used to, they wouldn't be bothering with your area :\

I suppose it's like the repeated concerns conservatives raise about migration from blue to red states = don't turn this into the same shit you just left. Sounds like they re doing it to your area as well :\

I don’t even see how one could argue it isn’t neo liberal rule that is ruining areas tbh. Look at buckhead trying to leave the city of ATL. You have left wing demagogues demonizing the upper class tax base for a few decades for political points, and literally stopping the police from answering calls to the area. Pregnant women being stabbed in parks, drive by shootings on innocents without the police responding to, criminals being let out bc of the neo liberal policies, etc etc.. And now establishment propaganda is even saying they are racist simply bc they are tired of not having any police presence. It truly is clown world that we are living in, brought on by the banking system.

Denver had a real cow town feel to it when I moved there. Pena could actually get things done.

Part of the reason why I moved is because of all the "liberals" that moved there. I put liberals in quote because blaming the liberals from another town or blaming another town in itself pretty stupid. It's going to happen regardless. People are people. Just like mass shootings. The only thing we can do at this point is mitigate the issue. Regulation is inevitably and logically the only necessary conversation.

I was in Boulder when Columbine happened. By the time a mass shooting came to store I shopped at in Boulder, I really wasn't surprised.

We have an over population issue. Let's start taking responsibility for it.

I dunno I like my liberal town and people are happy here. Are there problems? yeah obviously.

TBH a big part of why "liberal" areas can have more problems is because big cities tend to be liberal. And where more people live on top of each other, there are more problems. Show me a big city that doesn't have problems.

Even the most blind have to be able to see how it’s like a virus moving to infect its host, and once it dies the virus moves on to overtake another host. It’s obviously not that cut and dry, the gentrification period and other early stages are usually pretty positive in many ways. Balkanization may eventually be the result of this, though I don’t know if I condone this extreme action or not. All I know is things are escalating, and that I try and see the good in people and only want what’s best for everyone.

In light of the new National Memorial, my partner and I are visiting the Pulse District and will take the "Survivors Walk" soon.

We were happy to see the site prior to the major changes about to occur. This is going to be a very different view in a few years. The plans for the Memorial building include a walk through the building itself without actually going into the building. It will be like a giant viewing window in a corridor. The Survivors Walk will start at the building and go about a half of a mile to the hospital. The wall will look something like this (below) but instead it will be a half mile long.

The pictures on the walls made it personal for us. It was difficult not to get teary eyed. We were impressed and the Memorial hasn't even been built!
