Marijuana Not Linked To Lung Cancer

When marijuana smokers smoke, their body probably circulates all of that smoke to the other parts of their bodies also,

Sure. But also circulating the fat-soluble antineoplastic THC around too.

Nobody is claiming that you absolutely won't get cancer if you smoke weed, or that weed cannot cause cancer under any circumstances, by the way... rather that cannabis smoking does not consistently and observably increase the risk of cancers beyond baseline, unlike e.g. cigarette smoking, or asbestos exposure.

All of those carcinogens from the smoke was probably circulating throughout Bob Marley's body, which is probably what gave him cancer.

People get cancer that have never smoked a thing in their life also tho, so who knows.

Even if the smoke itself is a carcinogenic substance, since marijuana smoke does not contain many of those carcinogens which the tobacco plant naturally has, it's still definitley less likely to cause cancer than smoking cigarettes is.

There are numerous substances that are known to cause cancer in both weed and tobacco...

It is still undefined for weed... No definitive answers.

My god!

It's not complicated:

1) Tobacco and marijuana smoke both contain many cancerous substances.

2) Tobacco smokers seem to be getting cancer at much higher rates than marijuana smokers.

3) In fact, marijuana smokers seem to not be getting cancer at higher rates than non-smokers.

4) That is unexpected.

5) Nobody's sure why.

6) Lots more research is needed.

That's it. That's all there is to it.

Issues that have already been clarified seem to not be getting through.

Thank you 23536... You are jesus right now...

Bingy Bunny, Duke Reid,Mikey Dread,Jackie Mittoo and Gregory Isaacs are all reggae stars who dies from cancer. Perhaps double skank guitar strokes on the offbeat is carcinogenic?

THC is not very water soluble...

THC is very soluble in ethanol...

How are you drinking it?

Here's my main opinion about this thread. Even if marijuana smoking doesn't cause lung cancer, it's still very harmful to the cognitive abilities, such as short-term memory skills, and learning, etc. Some studies have shown that it has negative emotional effects, such as paranoia and anxiety attacks.

Those very statistics alone should make people know that marijuana is a harmful substance. I had asked earlier about why smoking is the most common ROA with marijuana, and while smoking certainly does make marijuana ever more harmful, even if it's not smoked, some harmful effects still remain.

And no, this is not anti-drug propaganda at all. Drugs are very dangerous, and there's good reasons why people shouldn't use them. Why does it matter if smoking marijuana even causes lung cancer or not? It's still very harmful regardless, and people should know better not to use marijuana, in my opinion. Using mind altering substances is very immoral, because it's harmful to the human body and mind. This is why I have never used them, because I care about my own health. Using altering substances goes against my own personal beliefs.

What's so wrong with staying sober! Absolutely nothing! It's a very good thing. As I had stated in my other thread, staying sober protects people from the harmful effects of mind altering substances.

Does ethanol contain fats in it? Maybe this explains why THC is soluble in ethanol, but not in water. However, alcohol is not a fat soluble substance.

How could ethanol contain fats if it is ethanol?

In response to the rest of your post, nonsense. The human race thrives on drugs. Everywhere.

Do you also think we should ban masturbation, too? It's harmful, studies have shown it to be bad for you. And it's immoral, and you'll get hairy palms and go blind.

^ I don't want Jesus to cry and I definitely don't want to go blind so I stopped masturbating straight after church told me the truth. My fiance understands too, we haven't had sex in months, and we won't until the second we get married because neither of us want to spend our lives - sorry typo there, DEATHS, in hell.

Why hasn't this been locked?

There are so many issues that have yet to be covered here. We've dealt with the lungs and the toes, but what about other body parts? What risks does marijuana pose to the thymus, or the Sphincter of Odi, or the Crypts of Lieberkuhn? Does rectal marijuana disturb the rigidity of the Columns of Malphigi? Does urethral marijuana clog the epididimys and lead to ectopic pregnancy of the scrotum? There are universes of discourse waiting to be uncovered here.
