I think if your an alcoholic, whether you've been one for years, or just became one(as if there was a standard for being an alcoholic ), your tolerance dosent vary all that much

depending on how bad of an alcoholic you are and how high your tolerance is yes you can die from withdrawl.... it is not a VERY common thing but it is basically the only drug that has potential to kill you by stopping cold turkey, not even Heroin can do that.

Benzo's can kill you as well if you stop taking them cold turkey.

ok, i stand corrected (i did say basically )....thats one reason i don't fuck with pills. and about alcohol your tolerance certainly does go up. being an alcoholic doesn't mean you are going to drink a fuck ton just that you have an addictive personality and you deal with everything by drinking and can't stop. but if you drink all the time just because (say in a fraternity, which i was in) you will build a tolerance to alcohol but you may not be an alcoholic because you can stop drinking whenever you want. i drank too much just because there was nothing better to do but when i noticed the bad side efffects such as feeling shitty all the time I stopped and haven't really been drunk since.

Only through seizures I believe, In alcohol your body actually dies as it needs alcohol to survive.

The author is a stupid douche. Just because SAFER correctly rags on alcohol he votes contrary to his own beliefs regarding weed. No one is ever going to outlaw booze again, so why get all bent out of shape about it? I love booze too, but I'm not so naive that I spout off ridiculous "statistics" supporting one of the deadliest drugs known to man.

This is pretty much par the course for MDM, I mean it is a magazine about drinking and drinking culture. I would take everything they write with a huge grain of salt. Interesting articles, but stupid self-centered opinions about alcohol just like their weedcentric counterparts.
